Chapter 340 - 340: Fortunately, it is dangerous

With the large windows done, all that remained was adding a few finishing details. After putting Filch's personal belongings back in place, the job was complete.

Oh…

Right, almost forgot.

He took out a sign and hung it outside Filch's door.

It read: [Director of Moral Education Office]

"To be honest, I think this sign is a bit… off. I mean, Director of Moral Education doesn't exactly sound like a good thing," Filch complained.

"That has nothing to do with it. In Muggle schools, the Director of Moral Education is a very prestigious position. The only reason you think poorly of it is because of Umbridge," Kasenhis explained.

"And with how diligently you've worked in the castle, you fully deserve this title."

"Then thank you, Professor Kasenhis." Filch nodded to him.

"Mm-hmm. If you need anything, just come to my office," Kasenhis replied before returning to his own office.

"Without Umbridge and Fudge, life suddenly feels so much happier." Kasenhis let out a long breath and sprawled comfortably on the sofa, murmuring.

Who knew how many days later…

This time, purely to watch the show, Kasenhis came to the Wizengamot, grinning as he watched a hall full of bigshots deal with the deaths of both Fudge and Umbridge—along with the entire Hogwarts staff who had come to spectate.

Amelia Bones was rather helpless as she presided over this Wizengamot hearing that felt more like a formality than a real trial.

She felt that, as Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, she had absolutely no presence at all. Those Ministry pests… the former pests… had practically treated this place like a Roman colosseum.

Fortunately, today's hearing had virtually zero difficulty. After all, the plaintiffs were already dead. And whether by social dynamics or simple logic, the outcome had long been obvious.

At home, she had received plenty of letters from her niece detailing the nasty things Umbridge had done at Hogwarts.

Against strong professors like Kasenhis, McGonagall, and Snape, Umbridge hadn't dared to utter a word. But when it came to the weaker professors, she had bullied them relentlessly.

Even her niece had been picked on simply for looking too well-behaved. Fortunately, the Bones name had protected her somewhat, or who knew what kind of mistreatment she might have suffered.

Unlike Bones on the bench, Kasenhis, sitting in the gallery, was already starting to regret coming.

So boring he was practically falling asleep…

And the trial hadn't produced anything useful either.

For example, he had originally hoped the Wizengamot ruling would give the Weasley twins a temporary suspension so they could go pursue their dreams.

But the final verdict was completely useless…

Emmm…

Not guilty. Not even a formal reprimand. The punishment wasn't even as strict as Filch's.

Just like that, not long after returning to his office, Kasenhis found the Weasley twins waiting for him in his quarters.

Both of them had long faces, looking utterly helpless.

"How about this.. I can lend you a sum of money. Once your joke shop starts turning a profit, you can repay me in installments each year. That way, you can continue your studies here in peace," Kasenhis offered a second option.

The Weasley twins shook their heads in perfect sync.

"Professor, this isn't about suspension or money anymore."

"This concerns our personal dignity!"

"All these years, whatever we set out to do, we've never failed!"

"Even under Molly's relentless pursuit and interception, we still bravely achieved our goals."

"And today, all we wanted was a simple suspension—and we actually failed?"

"That is absolutely unacceptable! In our hearts."

Hearing the twins' back-and-forth refusal, Kasenhis felt somewhat helpless.

"Honestly… how about you just… uh… hmm!"

He suddenly reacted. "For the next few nights, after your classes, come straight to my office. I'll take you to do something fun!"

When the Weasley twins heard Professor Kasenhis say this, they seemed to immediately catch on.

"Professor, are you going to—"

"Ahem. This is something that can be understood but not spoken. How much you learn—and whether you end up expelled or merely suspended—will depend on how well you control yourselves."

"And once you master this little trick of mine, your future won't just be as joke shop owners. You'll become two-thirds of the magical world's enchanters!" Kasenhis said smugly.

"Enchanters? Then who's the other third?" the twins asked in confusion.

"Ahem. Naturally, that would be me!" The corner of Kasenhis's mouth curled into a Nike-shaped grin as he gazed at the orbital dragon-slaying cannon on the ceiling.

...

That night, Kasenhis had just finished washing up and was about to sleep. Before he could even doze off, he saw two figures standing by his bed, staring at him.

"…What the—?" Kasenhis asked blankly.

"Professor, didn't you say these next few days?" the Weasley twins asked.

"…That's my fault. I should have said starting tomorrow," Kasenhis said helplessly.

The twins nodded.

"Professor, you're not wrong."

"It's already past midnight!"

"…OK~" Kasenhis stared at the ceiling and agreed in a tearful tone.

Soon, the three of them returned to the office floor. Kasenhis led the twins through a maze of twists and turns inside the office until they arrived in front of a glass room.

This glass room was extremely thorough— even the floor was made of glass, and beneath the glass floor were densely packed candles.

"Professor, I remember this room was always locked before. Is there some secret?" the Weasley twins asked.

"Not really a secret. It's just that what's inside is excessively dangerous. But fortunately it is dangerous—otherwise, how would you two get suspended?" Kasenhis let out a villainous chuckle and led the twins inside.
