The next day, at the Franklin Group president's office.
"Mrs. Franklin, please wait here for a moment. The boss is still in a meeting. I'll have Liz make you a cup of coffee," Carson said respectfully to her, offering a polite smile before hurrying away down the quiet hallway.
"Okay, thank you," she replied, her voice calm even as her mind raced with anxious thoughts.
After Carson left, she looked around the spacious, elegantly furnished office, noting the luxurious rug underfoot and the subtle scent of leather. Since this floor was exclusively for the president's office, there were no other employees, making her feel both exposed and oddly secure in the silence.
She closed the office door softly, making sure no one could see her actions, and immediately went to William's desk. Quickly, she opened each drawer of his desk to search, moving aside pens, papers, and a few personal items, but unfortunately, she didn't find the document she was looking for.
