Isabella hugged her and said with a hint of sadness, "Cousin, are you worried about leaving Aunt here alone? Don't worry, I'll take good care of her for you."
At the moment, she wasn't actually worried about this, because no matter what, she wouldn't be separated from her mother. What she was concerned about was that if the Franklins really left for Paris in the next couple of days, she would have little time left to investigate.
"You seemed a bit down during dinner today." William, who rarely came back for dinner, said to her when they returned to their room after the meal.
