Starry Sky's resources were limited. With new heroes constantly being launched, and mutants, altered humans, and super-powered individuals joining endlessly, many superheroes who should have been eliminated long ago were still consuming resources. It was nothing but a waste.
Now, with so many superheroes dying at once, it had saved them the trouble of clearing out the old ones themselves. Jason Stryker did not find this outcome unacceptable.
At last, they could introduce new superheroes.
That mysterious enemy also needed to be captured as soon as possible. The threat he posed was simply too great.
This was the perfect opportunity to debut their new heroes—using the mysterious enemy to boost their fame.
At the thought, Jason Stryker let out a satisfied laugh.
It was truly killing several birds with one stone.
…
Iron Lady streaked across the sky at full speed but slowed as she neared a certain apartment complex on the outskirts of New York. Choosing a deserted alley, she landed quietly.
She pressed the device on her wrist, causing the armor around her body to vanish. Wearing a frosty expression, she strode out from the shadows.
Tall and graceful, with a sharp crop of short hair and icy blue eyes, her face was as cold as frost—yet her beauty still drew attention wherever she went.
Beep-beep.
Her phone chimed. She glanced at it and opened her schedule.
11:00 — Cook lunch.
Her expression shifted, and she hurried toward a nearby supermarket, quickly purchasing ingredients before heading home.
It was a modest, ordinary apartment—hard to imagine that the Iron Lady of the Justice League actually lived here.
When she opened the door and was greeted by a small, tender face, however, the frost on her features melted away like spring snow, replaced by a warm smile.
"Auren."
Iron Lady knelt down, wrapping the little boy running toward her into her arms. She kissed his cheek and asked gently, "Did you have fun at home today?"
"No."
Auren lifted his head, his identical sky-blue eyes staring up at his mother as he asked, "Mom, when can I go to school like the other kids?"
Iron Lady lowered her voice. "You don't need to go to school with them. You're not like them—they're just ordinary people."
"But I get so lonely by myself."
Auren pouted, tugging at his mother's arm in pleading. "Let me go, please? I'm already five years old!"
Iron Lady stroked her son's head and replied softly, "Just wait until you're a little older."
She stood and deliberately changed the subject. "What do you want to eat? I'll cook it for you."
"Hmph! You're trying to trick me with food again!"
Though he complained, Auren muttered under his breath, "I want fried chicken wings."
"I'll make them right now."
Smiling, Iron Lady headed toward the kitchen.
Auren shook his little fist at her back. "Don't think you can distract me that easily! I'm serious this time!"
"I know, I know," Iron Lady chuckled. "Do you want them spicy?"
"Yes…"
…
At Kent Farm, in a house long abandoned.
Mac, who had just destroyed Starry Sky headquarters, appeared silently.
The moment he arrived, he found Tony staring at him with a strange look—part surprise, part shock.
Raising an eyebrow, Mac asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"It's nothing."
Tony shook his head, though the live combat feed Jarvis had shown him lingered in his mind.
It was the first time he had seen Mac so enraged, Mac slaughtering so ruthlessly.
"Let's go."
Mac's voice was calm as he drew another card between his fingers.
"Where to?"
Tony asked, stepping toward his Iron Man suit. As the armor closed around him, Mac opened a portal and answered flatly, "To find Gwen."
…
In the Alps, beneath Mont Blanc—the highest peak—between Chamonix in France and the mountain itself, a secret base lay hidden within the mountainside.
This was the headquarters of the Star Extermination Organization.
The Star Exterminators fought with one goal: to destroy Starry Sky Company.
Though their numbers were few, their resolve was unshakable.
Starry Sky had taken too much from them—
Their families, their friends, their lives.
Beyond their battle against Starry Sky, they had nothing left.
Inside the base, lights shone brightly.
Though small, it was fully equipped, sufficient for both daily living and training.
As dinnertime neared, some members rested in their rooms, others prepared meals, while still others studied or trained.
Suddenly, a tall, broad-shouldered young man with a perfectly sculpted V-shaped torso burst from his room, clutching his phone. He sprinted toward the training room, shouting at the top of his lungs:
"Gwen! Gwen!"
Bang!
He shoved the door open, rushing to where Gwen was sparring with Harry. He grabbed her by the arm, pulling her aside in excitement. "I just saw something unbelievable!"
"Luke, can't you go one day without being so jumpy?"
Harry sighed, shaking his head. Taking the water bottle Peter tossed him, he gulped down a drink.
"Jumpy?"
Luke smirked at him. "Once you see this, you'll scream like a little girl."
"Tch."
Harry rolled his eyes but stepped over with Peter, both of them peering at Luke's phone.
Grinning, Luke hit play on the video.
It was footage of the battle at Starry Sky headquarters.
Though blurry, making it impossible to clearly distinguish the fighters, the chaos of the battle was still evident.
Superheroes being torn apart one by one by the mysterious figure. Starry Sky's headquarters obliterated.
When the four of them saw the column of light descending from the heavens, their composure nearly broke.
It was exhilarating!
They had dreamed of doing this themselves!
Those disgusting so-called superheroes!
"Amazing! That guy is incredible!"
"Well done!"
Luke and Harry cheered, slapping their palms together in triumph.
Peter, equally thrilled, glanced at Gwen. But noticing the faint frown on her face, he asked, "What's wrong?"
Gwen touched her chin thoughtfully. "This person… looks kind of familiar."
Though she could only see a vague outline, something about the figure stirred a sense of recognition.
Peter took the phone from Luke. "There must be more than one person who recorded it. If we look, we should find clearer footage."
He searched quickly, pulling up a higher-quality video. When the four zoomed in on the figure floating in the sky, preparing to unleash the light column, their eyes widened.
"Uncle Mac!?"
"Dad!?"
