Earlier after breakfast, Shido decided to go to the Magician Guild to purchase a book for Frieren when she ordered him to buy her one.
Yes, order.
Frieren, ordered Shido as if she was the one who had the higher position between them making him speechless. Although, she said that she was planning to teach Rumia a new magic so she wouldn't be able to buy it herself but Shido knew that she was actually just lazy to go.
Without a choice, Shido could only let out a long sigh before going out, thinking of getting back at her someday. Still, he had his own errands to run today, so he wasn't entirely reluctant to handle the shopping for Frieren.
After purchasing the magic book Frieren had requested, Shido wandered aimlessly through the capital. At one point, he stepped into the Adventurers' Guild to check if there were any interesting missions posted. The people inside the guild caused a commotion seeing the leader of Metal Vessels.
Yet, it wasn't surprising since their group was very popular. The leader was a handsome man that any woman would fall for his charms that even those with husband wasn't exempted. His companions were equally remarkable: Rumia, with her angelic beauty and gentle smile, seemed to grace everyone she met, while Frieren, their newest member, was both breathtaking and immensely powerful. Despite her lazy and relaxed demeanor, even the most seasoned adventurers must admit that she was one of the strongest magic casters they had ever seen.
After scanning the mission board, Shido once again walk out while the adventurer's stare at his gallant figure.
There was still time before his next plan, so Shido decided to continue wandering the city and see if anything interesting was happening. Yet he had barely taken a single step when a voice called out from behind.
"Acheval-san!"
He didn't need to turn around to know who it was, there was only one person who could speak with that composed yet warmly friendly tone to him.
"Lakyus, fancy meeting you here." Shido turned and greeted her with a smile.
During this past few months, Shido and Lakyus started to call each other with their first name due to certain circumstances. And as expected, although Lakyus wasn't against it, she was feeling shy when she heard him call her first name and her voice faltering and a faint blush coloring her cheeks whenever she attempted to say his name in return.
When Shido turned around, Lakyus who was running happily towards him halted her footsteps. She was stunned looking at his current profile. They haven't met each other for a week or so but watching him right now made her took a deep breath.
"Lakyus?"
Seeing her dumbfounded expression, Shido couldn't help but chuckle as her current expression was so interesting. Yet, he wasn't that surprised at all, after all, even though his love spot was deactivated, it still increased his charm making those woman with low resistance swayed by his beauty.
'*Sigh* It's really hard being handsome.'
Shido shook his head with that thought.
"Ah, um... Y-Yeah, it's been a while Acheval-san."
A faint blush appeared on her cheeks, turning her head away so Shido wouldn't be able to see her embarrassing face. 'Why? Why did he became so attractive so suddenly?' Lakyus thought inside her heart as she tried to peak at him, seeing his gentle face. Her heart beat faster seeing his face, she clutch her chest feeling the strange feeling swelling from her heart.
'D-Did I miss him so much that he became so handsome in my eyes the moment I saw him again?'
Those thoughts appeared on her mind as she thought of the possibility, but except for this, she couldn't think of any other reason.
Her mind was in a mess, but she was still a noble lady after all, so after a brief moment, Lakyus started to regain her composure, going back to her, usual polite and noble self.
"Did you just got out of the guild?" Lakyus asked curiously, her expression returned to normal as if everything that she had just showed was an illusion.
"Yeah, I thought to look for a mission, but there wasn't anything good to accept right now." Shido was amazed by how quickly she changes her expression, still he responded to her naturally.
"I see."
"What about you? It's rare seeing you by yourself."
"We are actually the same as you, there's no good mission to take at the moment so we decided to take a break. Gagaran and Evileye were strolling together while Tina and Tia is...."
Lakyus started to get warm up to Shido as she continued with him. The two talked to each other's daily life while walking aimlessly in the street until Lakyus requested him something.
"Say, Acheval-san?"
"Hm? What is it?"
Shido look curiously at what this girl was going to say. Her body was fidgeting while she rubs her hands together. Lakyus hesitated for a moment before looking straight into his eyes gaining courage to say it.
"Will you go on a date with me?"
"Date?"
Shido was stunned as he didn't expect that this girl who was from a noble family would actually ask him for a date. 'Am I too handsome that she also began to fall for me?'
Shido caressed his face as if he was really that attractive to her. Yet, when he look at her face, he saw her blush once again. Her eyes look evasive yet expectant.
Usually, she behave polite, and strong in front of her members, but when she was in front of Shido, all her resolve and resistance turn into nothing. That was why, she would often blush, smile and chuckle when talking with him. She must admit that it feels so nice talking with him.
Hearing her words, Lakyus knew she messed up, she didn't actually wanted to say date but it came out of her mouth. Because of this, her face turned even redder.
"N-No, I meant, that... I."
She wave her hand to deny it and started talking, but she was so nervous that she stuttered. Yet, Shido's answer stunned her once again.
"Sure."
"Eh?"
Seeing her disbelieving face, Shido thought that she look very cute despite her usually graceful yet stubborn personality.
"I agree to go on a date with you." He repeated his words seeing that she was still in the state of confusion. Shido still had time before his plan so he definitely not going to reject a date with such a beautiful girl.
"Ah, I-I see."
"Yes, so, let's go?"
Shido extend his hand towards her causing Lakyus to become bashful. She didn't expect Shido would start by holding hands naturally causing her to think that he was experienced with this causing her to snort at him inwardly.
Yet, if Lakyus know that he was a master of dating back in his original world, then she might pout so hard that her cheeks would puff and float in the sky.
However, he didn't reject his gesture and accepted his hand. Watching the hand that she was holding, Lakyus became momentarily dazed, feeling his warm and big hand. It was the first time she came in so much close contact with another man so she became curious. Holding his hand feels so nice, she felt so secure as if everything would be okay even if the heaven collapse.
She turned her face upward and saw Shido smiling warmly towards her while slightly squishing her little hands. With such gesture, Lakyus also subconsciously squish his hand back causing a weird feeling to erupt from her chest.
Still, her thoughts were interrupted when Shido spoke, pulling her back to reality.
"Let's go."
"...Un."
With that shy response, the two started their date in the capital.
