Chapter 522 - Chapter 522 If One Can Live, Who Would Choose Death?

The vital point was confirmed to be the heart. The other organs were casually discarded by Law on the ground.

The ruler's massive size meant his heart was as large as a human. Its beating echoed like a drum, powerful and vibrant, showcasing immense vitality.

Although the heart was dozens of times larger than a book page, the page contained spatial laws, allowing it to compress the enormous heart completely into its confines.

Snap.

After inserting the heart, Law closed the book with one hand, then dismissed it, transforming it into scattered points of light like fireflies.

The ruler lay prostrate at Law's feet, his body trembling incessantly from the excruciating pain gnawing at his nerves.

Biscuit rejoined them. The surrounding darkness still teemed with numerous parasites, their crimson eyes fixed on their position.

The intense light acted like an insurmountable barrier, keeping them trapped in the darkness, unable to advance.

Tonpa and Bruna watched the scene, their hearts stirred.

It was a stark contrast between a monster and a human.

It was a stark contrast between a monster and a human.

The human stood like a beacon, while the monster lay subdued on the ground, powerless to resist.

The size, appearance, and environment created a highly impactful image, especially for Bruna, who found it indescribably shocking.

One could say the ruler of the parasites was the overlord inside the Rock Island Crab, ruling over everything here. Over the long years, countless magical beast races that had fallen into this place had perished, leaving only four races surviving in the safe zones.

Hundreds of magical beast races had been eliminated by the parasites led by the ruler.

They had pursued the pinnacle of this place, emerging victorious in this prolonged evolutionary process. Yet, they had fallen at the feet of what they perceived as tiny and fragile humans.

The deep green glow on Bruna's body slowly faded, turning into a faint white light as her mind went blank.

This scenario of the weak overwhelming the strong was something her pure mind could not decipher.

'Humans are truly a powerful race!'

This thought slowly surfaced in her blank mind.

"Aren't you going to finish him off?"

Tonpa cautiously approached Law's side, looking at the prostrating ruler, his voice trembling slightly. He felt that continuing down this path would either scare him to death or forge an unshakable heart, making him fearless in the future.

Law glanced at Tonpa but did not respond. He crouched before the ruler, chin in hand, deep in thought.

His initial plan was to subdue the ruler and have him show them the way out. However, communicating this intention to the ruler posed a problem.

The white light bathed the ruler, subjecting him to dual torment, physical and mental, as if he were in hell.

"Tear... tear you... apart!"

Bizarre syllables emerged from the mouth beneath the ruler's neck.

"This must be a language unique to their species."

Biscuit guessed upon hearing the obscure, hard-to-understand syllables.

Even though magical beasts on the Six Continents understood the common language, they were intelligent races with their own languages. The ruler before them was no exception.

"I can't understand it, but I grasped the tone." Law shook his head slightly. Suddenly, he leaped lightly into the air, his expression cold, and landed with a heavy stomp on the ruler's head.

Bang!

A loud crash echoed as the ruler's head was forcefully pressed into the hard calculus ground.

The stomp dazed the ruler and instilled a trace of fear in the surrounding parasites.

Law kept his foot planted on the ruler's head, pinching the upper eyelid to force the light from the luminous algae into the ruler's eyes.

"Submit, or die."

Whether the ruler understood or not, Law believed the cold tone would convey the message.

The ruler tried to lift his buried head, but the foot pressing down felt like a thousand pounds, immobilizing him.

He stared at the tiny human bathed in white light, his anger boiling like a volcano on the verge of eruption, his stance one of defiance unto death.

Law stared intently into the massive crimson eyes overflowing with rage and hatred, finding not a trace of submission. He understood.

Snap.

As Law released his grip, the ruler's eyelids instantly snapped shut, blocking out the white light.

"Pulling tendons into threads, grinding bones into powder… such pain is nothing compared to the agony of a pierced heart."

Law murmured to himself as he landed lightly on the ground. He turned slowly to look at the defiant ruler, then intensified the heart-piercing agony to its extreme.

In an instant, the ruler's body jerked violently off the ground, emitting low, guttural roars of pain.

The emotions generated by the heart-piercing agony infused his Aura, spreading outward and affecting the surrounding parasites, who felt a bone-deep fear.

Their king... had fallen from his throne.

Biscuit's gaze shifted between Law and the ruler, a complex emotion stirring within her.

She could see that, enhanced by Nen, the ruler's body had reached an incredibly high level of hardness. Yet, Law's Nen Ability sacrificed raw destructive power for penetrative force, perfectly countering the ruler's steel-like physique.

Then there was the ability to extract organs and use them to subdue other party.

These two aspects gave Biscuit the illusion that Law's Nen Ability had been prepared precisely for this moment.

Just then, Bruna floated over and landed on Law's shoulder. Her tentacles gently attached to his temples as she whispered, "Law, if you want to communicate with the ruler, I can assist you."

"You have a way?" Law asked.

"Yes, my tentacles can establish a communication channel between you." Bruna replied.

"That's great."

Law was pleasantly surprised that Bruna's ability could facilitate consciousness-based communication between different species.

However, he did not immediately ask her to establish the channel. Instead, he continued to torment the ruler, eliminating all his followers and draining his Aura entirely.

This was to prevent the ruler from harming Bruna.

Once everything was ready, Bruna extended her tentacles, attaching them to Law and the ruler respectively. A bridge of communication opened in their consciousness.

Instantly, a hoarse, furious male voice echoed in Law's mind.

Tear apart, torture, devour!

The voice spat out various words, all directed at Law.

Though the ruler's body had been thoroughly broken, his spirit remained unyielding.

The sea of consciousness was a wondrous existence. Voices could be heard, communication could occur, and though they could not see each other, they could manifest each other's forms within their own consciousness.

Thus, the connection was established. Law and the ruler met in the world of consciousness.

This time, they could understand each other's words.

Faced with the ruler's rage, Law remained cold and calm, "I can let you live, or I can make you die in agony. Choose."

The ruler continued to vent his anger, but there were signs of it subsiding.

Having traversed such a difficult path of evolution, if given the chance to live, who would choose death?
