In the royal stand, King White leaned forward, jaw tightening. "He's not holding back anymore. We should go. Let's get you guys to safety." he murmured.
Queen White's eyes flickered toward Nnenna, concern shadowing her expression. "He's protecting her… isn't he?"
Ava clutched Emily's arm from the rails, both of them pale. "I can't even see what's happening anymore," Ava whispered. "Is Nnenna still in there?"
Emily swallowed hard. "If she is then she's fighting in a different world from the rest of us."
Down below, the arena lights flickered as Arthur and "George" continued their invisible dance of destruction, so fast, so precise, that only the occasional boom or crackling shockwave revealed where they had clashed.
And somewhere in that storm of motion, two forces, one human, one corrupted, fought for far more than just victory.
