'Ah… fuck.' Arthur thought to himself as soon as he heard the soft footsteps coming from the balcony.
He knew for sure that it wasn't the two humans in the apartment, they were still in the kitchen, unaware of the fact that two strangers had just come inside their home.
'This is bad, I don't really want to be the cause of the death of two humans, however, this was the best way I could find of hiding.' Kazuo thought to himself as he instantly moved, he knew there was no reason to stay still behind the couch anymore.
A cold one or a vampire had good enough hearing that they would even hear his heartbeat at this close of a range.
'What I need to do now is stall for time before Alice comes and finds me. She should be able to at least do that much with her future sight gift.' Arthur thought to himself as he instantly raised his body and positioned himself closer to the large windows next to him.
Looking at the balcony he saw them, a pale chalky white man with short black hair and bronze colored eyes.
"I was wondering, why are you chasing me?" Arthur asked as he looked at the man who was now directly gazing at him, his body still as a rock, still beyond any natural means, clearly supernatural in the way he held himself.
The man simply tilted his head lightly to the side before releasing a soft amused chuckle though it was clear that the amusement didn't reach his eyes as he gazed at Arthur.
"Wouldn't it be more appropriate if I asked you that question?" The man questioned, his voice was a deep almost unnatural baritone, though it was clearly attractive, something all cold ones were, it was a way of hunting after all and these creatures were just that, predators of humans.
'I need to make him believe that I'm not human but rather some kind of supernatural creature, that shouldn't be hard considering that he sensed when I was tracking him from hundreds of meters away, however, that also poses the risk of him taking me with him simply for the fact that im, not a human or anything that was ever seen before but that's a risk I'll have to take. In comparison, he could actually kill me if he believes I'm a human who knows the secret about the Vampires.' Arthur thought to himself as he gazed at the man, in the outside world only a mere split second had passed however inside his mind, Arthur felt like minutes had as he tried and analyzed all the possible reactions and actions he could take from this point.
"I was looking for a friend of mine, they're a vegetarian cold one as you seem to be, I mistook your smell for theirs." Arthur finally spoke, his voice soft and calm despite the position he had found himself in.
"I'd prefer we left before the humans here realized we were in their house, I wouldn't want them dead," Arthur spoke once again as he turned his gaze towards the two unknowing humans merely meters away from them, still arguing with each other about how they should be making their dinner tonight.
"Alright, follow me to the rooftop." The cold one said and in a blur of motion, disappeared outside the apartment.
Arthur had no choice but to follow behind him, he knew that physically he couldn't outrun one and he wasn't even able to hide from this one as it seemed to have some kind of special gift related to tracking and location.
'Could it be a gift that notifies its users the moment they're being tracked and shows them where the tracker is? That could be possible.' Arthur thought to himself as he stealthily arrived outside the balcony without disturbing the humans before latching onto the wall and quickly starting to climb up with superhuman ease.
It didn't take longer than ten seconds for him to climb up all the way to the rooftop before swinging his body over the ledge and standing on top of it.
There, sitting down on the ledge, to his right was the vampire who was looking at him coldly.
"Do we have a problem? I say we simply ignore each other since this was a mistake and continue in our own way. Clearly, your diet isn't human or anything humanoid, so we shouldn't really have any reason to go against one another." Arthur spoke, his voice calm, yet his hands were slightly clenched behind his back.
"The problem is that whilst your abilities clearly are above those of humans, you smell just like one and I've seen humans with gifts before, superhuman abilities. And Humans… aren't supposed to know of our existence." The man spoke as a smile appeared on his face.
'Logical, my abilities could technically just be some kind of gift, just like how no one can read Bella's mind despite the fact that she is a human or the fact that Alice could see visions of the future even when she was a human.' Arthur thought quickly as his jaw clenched.
'I didn't think of that, maybe because Humans with gifts are so rare or the fact that Bella's gift is more mental than physical. The reason doesn't matter, what matters is the fact that im in quite the situation. Where the hell are you Alice, protecting mate bullshit. Future vision my ass.' Arthur thought to himself as he lowered his stance slightly.
"Then are you prepared to fight with me? Because you're not the first vampire I've fought… and neither would you be the first one I'd kill." Arthur spoke, his tone still completely calm as he lied through his teeth. His pupils focused on the man before him.
'Technically I could kill a vampire if I had enough preparations and If I set up a trap however right now? Im powerless.' Arthur thought inwardly with a sigh, hoping that the man would believe his bluff.
For a moment, silence engulfed the rooftop, the only sound was the cars and people commuting below them as well as the ruffle of their clothes from the wind.
Finally, it was broken when the man shook his head.
"I'll let you go because it was clear you tracked me with the intention of finding another cold one. You're their responsibility and I'd rather not fight someone else over this." The man spoke before his body turned into a blur.
Arthur sidestepped to the left before he could even think.
And there, right where his head had been, the man stood with his arm extended in a clawing motion.
"You're quite the liar mister," Arthur said, his blunt tone had turned colder.
'My body moved as soon as he completed his words before he even attacked me. It was pure instinct, if not for that fact, I would have already been dead.' Arthur thought, an emotion finally starting to enter his usually emotionless mind.
Pure Dread.
