Isla was lost in her thoughts that she barely had time to steady herself as the world shifted again. She hadn't been able to ride with Zorian because he had been too fast. One second she was standing over Ishara's grave and the next she was inside the grand courtyard of the palace. She turned as she watched Zorian figure emerge through the stables gates,soaked from the rain and his eyes wild as grief burned in every line of his face. He moved quickly as though he had been possessed.
He paused when he got to the first guard at the corner of the courtyard,his mother's personal sentinel. He was the one who had delivered the fake news that his mother was in danger. He was the one who had made Ishara to die. Before he could say anything, Zorian seized him by the collar pressing him against the ivory column. The guard's eyes widened in surprise and fear. The queen had promised to protect him but it seems like that would not happen judging from the look in Zorian eyes.
