The next day, Alex immediately goes back to Magnolia. He tells the Giants and Atlas about Silver almost attacking their village last night.
"I will go back now to attack their base. They've been on my list for a very long time and I finally found their base, so I can't miss this chance. Sorry about this, but I'll bring the Dragon Slayers here next time."
"Don't worry about that. Just do your thing, we will always be here anyway." Atlas can tell that this is an important matter for Alex, so he doesn't hold Alex with some chit-chatting.
Alex immediately leaves Sun Village and returns to Magnolia with Meteor. Ultear also returns to Mermaid Heel while Flare will stay for a few more days.
As soon as he arrives at the Guild, he tells everyone that he is going to attack Tartaros and asks if anyone wants to join him. Everyone in Fairy Tail knows that Alex has been looking for Tartaros for a long time, so they aren't surprised.
"You found their location?"
"Yeah, and they should have realized that I know how to find their base, so it's better to attack as fast as I can. If anyone is interested, then meet me at the gate tomorrow morning at 6 AM. I'll make some preparations tonight."
Alex suddenly throws the Ice Devil Lacrima at Gray.
"What's this?"
"Ice Devil Lacrima. Ask Granny Porlyusica to implant it in your body and you'll be able to use Ice Devil Slayer Magic. It's very effective against Demons and obviously more destructive. Also, it's pure ice magic, so you can combine it with your Ice Make because it only makes the ice, not molding it into shapes. Well, it might need a lot more magic power to use than regular Ice Magic, but that's normal if you want more power."
Alex knows that Gray is stuck with his magic and has a hard time improving his power for a while now, so this is a good solution for that.
Gray has a strong sense of rivalry with Natsu and while his Ice Make Magic is more flexible than Natsu's Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, its firepower is weaker.
"Where did you get this?" Gray asks with an astonished expression.
"You'll find out if you join the Exorcism."
Without collaborating any further, Alex asks Makarov to talk in private. So they go into the Guild Master's office to talk there.
As for Gray, he looks at the small pinkish lacrima crystal and holds it tightly before leaving the Guild building to go to Porlyusica's house. He also asks Wendy to help him out.
Meanwhile, Alex talks with Makarov about how he got that Ice Devil Lacrima. Of course, Makarov is surprised that it was from Gray's father who got resurrected by a Demon from Tartaros.
"His father asked you to hide it from him but you want to take him there to let him find out by himself? What do you think his reaction will be when knowing you basically kill his resurrected father?"
"I don't care about his reaction to that. What I want is just for him to find out the truth that a demon was playing with his father's soul and body for years. Whether he'll be angry at me for freeing his father from that demon's control or not is up to him."
"Sigh, just do as you please. I'll inform the Council about this when you are attacking them so they won't disturb you. Tartaros must've planted some spies inside the Council as well, so it's better to avoid telling them before you attack Tartaros."
"Thanks, Master."
Alex leaves and quickly makes preparations for tomorrow. He has the confidence to defeat Tartaros, but he still wants to be prepared because he never underestimates his enemies no matter how confident he is.
Besides, there's a big chance Acnologia will appear there just like in the series. Zeref might also appear to take the Book of END. So he can't be unprepared for those situations.
The next day, right at 7 AM, Alex arrives at the Gate with Meteor. Some people have already waited for him there.
Mira, Elfman, Lisanna, Laxus, Erza, Natsu, Happy, Gray, Gajeel, Lily, Wendy, Carla, and 3 outsiders. Ultear, Kagura, Sting, and Rogue are joining them. These 3 arrive very early in the morning to join.
Ultear the 1st to know about this plan since she was with Alex when Silver appeared, so she knew what Alex would do and she brought Kagura with her now. As for Sting and Rogue, Alex called them on his way back to Magnolia, telling them about Minerva and Jiemma who are in Tartaros now just like in the series.
Both of them don't care about Jiemma, but they are concerned about Minerva even though she was just very authoritative and wasn't really a nice person to them.
Well, Alex doesn't really know how they interacted before, so he can't judge them. He just lets them tag along and lets them do what they want with Jiemma and Minerva because it is their internal Guild problem.
"I thought you didn't want to join." Alex looks at Ultear who seems to have made some good preparations.
"It's too interesting to miss. I just need to make some preparations first and bring a teammate so I won't be alone. It's also a good chance for her to face some tough enemies."
Everyone who wants to join the attack on Tartaros is already here, so they immediately leave to find their target's base using the tool Alex took from Silver.
To hasten their trip, they use Fairy Tail's Magic Airship. Alex has talked to Makarov about this and borrowed the Guild's Magic Airship so they can find Tartaros HQ quickly because they don't know how far it will be.
On the way there, Alex explains to them about their targets' abilities, Curse, which is quite different from magic, so they will have a hard time facing it at first.
"They say that Curse uses the users' negative emotions as fuel. They are demons made with negative emotions by Zeref, different from normal demons who are born naturally like other biological creatures. Demons from the Book of Zeref are artificially made and even have artificial power. Devil Slayer Magic will still be especially effective against them and all forms of Magic can still affect them because they don't have powerful immunities and strong defenses like Dragons. But their Curse is really troublesome. Mostly because it's an unknown power to us and we don't have tolerance for it because we never faced it before."
"So you are saying that in case with the Dragon Slayers, our immunity with our elements won't work against them? If they use fire, will Salamander still get burnt?" Gajeel smirks while pointing at Natsu with his thumb.
"OI! WHY ARE YOU USING ME AS AN EXAMPLE?!" Natsu is offended.
"It's just an example." Gajeel smirks and they almost get into a brawl, but Alex intercepts.
"That's right, that's the case here. There might be a method to be immune and even eat their Curse, but I don't recommend you try to find it out. After all, as I said, Curse is made using negative emotions. If you are eating spells made with negative emotions, then that negative emotions will enter your body because when you eat your elements, you are basically consuming the magic power stored in those elements. But what's stored in Curse is negative emotions."
"I see, if we eat it, the negative emotions will overtake us." Wendy immediately understands and nods.
"What if Gray is the one doing it? He is a Devil Slayer now, so what if he eats ice made with Curse?"
"To be honest, I don't know. But if you ask who has the best chance at eating their Curse without having any problem, then it will be Gray the Devil Slayer. I still don't recommend it though."
They've already talked about Gray's new Magic, so they are not surprised anymore. In fact, Ultear wants to test it by fighting Gray, but it needs to wait until they destroy Tartaros.
Alex continues to explain about Tartaros to the others. Their members, those members' power, etc. He has investigated them for years because he can't remember every detail from the story and things might have changed as well.
Though he still can't get detailed information because Tartaros is very careful with everything they do. If he could get all information about them, he would have found their base already.
After following the direction that the tool pointed at, they finally find Tartaros HQ, The Cube. It's called the Cube because it's literally shaped like a cube. It's gigantic and floating in the air. This Cube is as big as a town.
With his sharp eyes, Alex can see that Mard Geer is looking at them from the edge of the Cube. Seems like he has been anticipating their arrival since Silver's death.
Mard Geer smirks while looking at their incoming Magic Airship while Alex stares back with a calm expression because he knows that soon, Tartaros will cease to exist.
