After reaching the end of the tower, Alex walks through a rather wide caved bridge that connects the tower with the main building.
It's not actually a bridge, but a roof of a path that connects both sides. But because the whole structure is upside-down and it's floating, the roof turns into a bridge
Some monsters attack him on the bridge and he kills them easily. Alex only attacks using his claws as he jumps around using the thin pillars on the sides.
Just 1 slash from him in his Mini Matatabi form can cut the D-Class monsters' bodies instantly. They don't put up much resistance despite their hard skin.
Even the C-Class monster that blocks the door into the main building also gets killed with just a slash from his claws.
The audience is hyped up by his performance.
They love seeing a Mage overpowering the monsters, especially since he looks like a monster himself.
Alex also mostly uses his claws, fangs, and tails, making him look more like a wild beast.
He moves fast, but not too fast, so the magic camera still can follow him.
After killing the C-Class monster, Alex enters the main building. The door is near the ceiling because the building is upside-down, so the floor becomes the ceiling and vice-versa.
He enters a kind of wide hall with many monsters filling the room. C-Class monsters are mixed with D-Class monsters here, so the difficulties have risen.
There are more than 20 monsters in this room and they are big. Yet Alex doesn't feel worried and actually gets excited instead.
He jumps into the room, triggering the monsters to start attacking him too.
They shoot spells from their mouths, horns, or even just charge at him to rip him with their claws or bite him.
But he easily dodges their attacks with his high agility as a cat that even helps him to make impossible maneuvers with the cat's liquid-like body.
This agility, speed, and ability to make strange maneuvers are the reason Alex loves transforming into Matatabi.
He can move however he wants with acrobatic moves without worrying about dislocating his joints. Cats' bodies are crazy.
But well, there's a limit to everything.
As the fight goes, he starts to feel uncomfortable to be in a cat form for too long.
So he changes into the Humanoid Matatabi form, which makes him look like a cat-man.
His ability to move strangely is almost gone, but he can fight more comfortably in a humanoid form.
Alex still mostly dodges the monsters' attacks before attacking. His Rinne-Sharingan eye really helps him see the attacks from the monsters.
But now that he is in a humanoid form, his attack options increase. He is obviously more used with humanoid forms as a human, so he has more skills to use in humanoid forms.
Instead of biting with his fangs, now Alex prefers stabbing them with his sharp claws that make his hands become sharp spears.
He can also rip them apart after plunging his claws into their bodies, punching through their hard skin, and using more martial art skills.
His beastly way of fighting is gone, but the audience is still very impressed with him.
If previously they feel entertained by his bloody wild beast techniques. Now they are in awe of his incredibly refined skills.
He still fights wildly, like ripping the monsters' heads out of their bodies, ripping them in half, or destroying their heads into bits.
But they can see that his attacks are calculated and he only hits their weak spots like heads, necks, stomaches, and hearts.
He even dodges most attacks with minimal distances.
No matter how weak the monsters' attacks are, it still needs a lot of courage and skills to dodge those attacks very closely.
Even the normal people are impressed, not to mention the experienced Mages.
Just looking at Alex's way of fighting, they can see that he is on a truly different level.
They thought he was just someone who used brute force from his battle with Jura because he only tried to compete in strength with Jura.
But now he shows how skillful he can be and he clearly uses minimal movements and the minimal amounts of power to defeat the monsters.
Even against weak monsters, that's still a very impressive feat because most people will use more than necessary to make sure the monsters are killed.
But Alex doesn't waste too much power. Even if he uses more power, it will be too little to notice.
To fight so many enemies, Mages need to make sure they don't run out of energy before they win or they'll die, after all, so they shouldn't waste too much energy.
While Alex has more stamina and magic power than almost every Mage here. He is still managing his energy usage carefully because he always needs to prepare for unexpected events.
The Mages are even more impressed by how he only dodge the enemies attacks, not even bothering to block them.
Some Mages with high experience know the reason and they even explain it to their less-experienced comrades.
Alex doesn't block because he doesn't want to get damaged no matter how little. No matter how weak the monsters' attacks are, they will accumulate overtime if he keeps getting hit and it will hinder his movements.
He doesn't even use defensive spells to save his magic power.
However, they also explain that it's a very difficult thing to do even for Wizard Saints. They need to be very observant and have the necessary ability to move like that.
"Necessary ability?" Natsu still doesn't understand after hearing Mira's explanation, so Laxus answers him.
"Agility, speed, senses, reflex, quick decision making, and most of all, the ability to be calm even in dire situations. If you are in his position, I'm 100% you will get too enthusiastic because your enemies are too weak then waste too much energy for shouting and attacking with strong spells. Then when the stronger enemies appear, you will lose too much magic power already and become more tired than you should be." Laxus smirks while looking at Natsu.
"I WON'T! I'M GOOD AT SAVING MY ENERGY!" Natsu shouts angrily.
"See? You already got too riled up just from a simple provocation. Keep shouting like that for 5 hours, and you won't have any energy left to fight." Laxus smirks, while the others just sigh helplessly as Natsu covers his mouth in defeat.
They are glad they didn't send Natsu for this event despite his annoying persuasion. Otherwise, he would waste too much energy when killing the low-level monsters.
Even now, they can see some players have started to get tired just from climbing their towers.
All of them want to climb the towers as quickly as possible and enter the main building.
But then they use more power than necessary.
40 monsters in each tower also contribute to that because it's not a small number even for them.
Luckily, Erza doesn't waste too much energy just to climb the tower.
She slowed down a little, making Jura take the lead, but it doesn't matter to her.
With so many monsters here, Erza knows that her priority isn't speed, but saving energy to kill as many monsters as she can.
Though she still needs to move fast or those ahead of her will kill the weaker monsters before she can arrive.
That's why she is advancing fast while still saving her energy as much as possible.
She is much stronger than she should be in the series around this time because she isn't frozen in time for 7 years.
With her current strength, she can kill a D-Class monster with just 1 flying sword attack as she flies using Heaven's Wheel Armor.
She knows she is fast, so the only thing she needs to think of now is trying to be calm and use the most effective and efficient attacks.
Erza doesn't even change her armor when she enters the main building and faces many more monsters at once in the room.
Heaven's Wheel Armor with its numerous swords that can be shot anytime is the best choice to be used against multiple enemies.
Just like Alex, she also prefers to dodge. But she sometimes blocks their attacks with the swords on her hands before shooting her flying swords.
On the other hand, Jura who is in 2nd position is using brute strength to crush the monsters.
He controls a flying earth fist to punch them into mincemeat, while another earth hand is used for defense, blocking the monsters' attacks.
With his great amount of magic power, he doesn't have issues using a lot from the beginning.
As for the ones behind them, they are already getting quite tired just to climb the tower while fighting D-Class monsters.
The climb is more tiring than fighting the monsters for some of them.
But after a while, almost everyone finally enters the main building. Even Hibiki and Nobarly who were lagging behind are able to leave their towers.
Now, the real challenge has finally begun.
