"Are you broken?" Melanie's face appeared above mine. Her curls around her face like a glowing honey crown. Her facial expression was perplexed but also pleased.
I smiled up to her and closed my eyes enjoying the feel of the sun on my skin. "I've never been better actually."
"You're becoming too red," she laughed and dropped a bottle of sunscreen on my lap before throwing herself down next to me. She laid on her back and we both looked up to the skies with happy smiles. "You look good when you're happy."
I beamed at her before closing my eyes. "Have you ever just felt at peace? Like strangely content as if something bad is going to happen soon but you couldn't give a damn."
"Happens to me every time I leave Moms house," she snickered. "Couldn't be more content in my life." I let out a chuckle and we both enjoyed the sun for a little. "I'm leaving in two days. I expect an awesome goodbye party."
