Chapter 261 - Chapter 261 - A Moment Between Madara and Ciri.

[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV

Skellige.

...

...

"Then... did Geralt threaten you or something like that?" Ciri couldn't help but ask Madara when she met him again in the castle after speaking with Yennefer.

"You could say yes, he said he couldn't hurt you." Madara replied, while Ciri laughed, holding his arm.

They were walking through the castle together, strolling along the balconies, watching the day come to an end.

"Then... are you going to tell me what you did with the dragon this morning?" Ciri asked with a curious look.

"You couldn't resist that?" Madara gave her a smile.

"I've gone the whole day without asking, I held out well." She pouted, the girl was thinking about what Madara had done with the dragon, and tried to endure, but her curiosity got the better of her.

"You'll find out tomorrow." Madara only said, while Ciri looked at him with a certain disappointment, but she knew Madara would not give in to her sad little puppy look.

"You don't need to be upset, after all, tomorrow will surprise everyone. I can only say that we'll leave the castle on top of a dragon." He said.

This brought a surprised look from Ciri, who stared at him wide-eyed. "Really?! You already caused a huge mess with a glyph! You intend to bring a dragon to the castle?!" She laughed at that.

"It's not as if we're going to invite it in to sit next to King Bran, but it'll be our ride out of here." He said as they stopped at the edge of the balcony. The sunset was happening, behind the distant island of Undvik, and this made Madara narrow his eyes at certain matters he didn't want to deal with at the moment, but were inevitable.

"I guess you're right." She laughed still at the previous comment. "However, it doesn't change the fact that you'll scare everyone." She wanted to laugh, but saw Madara looking seriously at the sunset.

"Something wrong?" She murmured softly.

"We have a problem." Madara said suddenly. Ciri immediately looked at him.

"What...?" She murmured, Madara was speaking very seriously and that made her frown.

"The Wild Hunt... those elves really appeared in Undvik." Madara said.

"So it was them in King Bran's report!" Said Ciri, worried and at the same time with anger in her voice.

"They dare come here!" She cursed with pure rage, her eyes glowing with power.

"Ciri, calm down. It's your powers that are drawing them..." Madara warned beside her.

"But... how can we just let them keep hunting us around?!" Ciri stared at him.

"If we don't want to postpone this wedding, which is difficult now, it's better we hold back. If you let your fury take over, you could alert them and this place could be filling with ice elves. We'll find some way to fight them after this." He said, and Ciri began to calm down a little. Madara was right.

"Sorry, I'm a bit emotional." She murmured, hugging him as she rested her face on Madara's shoulder.

"Why are you getting so tall..." She murmured, changing the subject. She remembered that they had always been the same height, but now a difference was beginning to form between them.

In fact, Madara was taller than Ciri. Madara wasn't extremely tall, but he would easily reach over 6'4 feet at his maximum height. Ciri wasn't short, but her height would settle at 5'9 feet.

"Did you want me to stay short?" Madara asked with some humor.

"No." She said, still hugging Madara.

They stayed there for a while, the sun soon began to fade and the sky started to darken with the first stars appearing above.

There had been silence between the two for more than an hour, no one said anything else, only the company seemed enough for the young couple as they gazed at the sea from that balcony.

Many people passed by, visitors and castle folk, but no one came close, with Ciri casting a spell on them.

Madara said nothing more while Ciri leaned her back against his chest, watching the view with his arms loosely around her stomach. "New trick?" He finally broke the silence, since surely people would want to talk to them, but that spell of Ciri's had made others ignore them after a single glance.

"Yennefer taught me... You know... I'm getting good at this, magic is becoming easier and easier..." She remarked, turning her head toward Madara as if expecting his approval or a compliment.

"It means you have better control over your powers, that's good... You had Triss's earlier training and seemed like an out-of-control bomb, in her words." Madara said. "Little by little you're getting better."

"Thanks to you. If it weren't for you, I would still be an out-of-control bomb... I still remember that other Ciri, she certainly couldn't do what I can." She said.

"Well, you see, I knew your abilities, I knew that the sooner you could learn them, the easier it would be for you. All I did was guide you down the right path and used the power of your blood, which makes your body adapt to the environment, to force you to surpass the witchers and try to keep up with me. Your evolution has been immense over the past years." Madara said, for in the three years at Kaer Morhen, Ciri had already gained all her powers from the game, even before training with any sorceress.

"Even so, thank you. I still can't do complex things. But I can pull off some pretty interesting tricks." She said with a smile.

Madara nodded and looked at a woman coming toward the balcony, staring at them for a moment before turning to leave, she seemed in a hurry. "I think she's looking for us... And it seems important." Madara said, shifting his body while still holding Ciri close.

Ciri lifted the spell and the servant immediately blinked her eyes wide when she noticed them there, as if they had just 'appeared out of nowhere.'

"My lord, milady!" She exclaimed, approaching cautiously. "King Bran asked to meet with you, your presence is required at the banquet tonight as guests of honor. He asked me to warn you to be ready." She said with an urgent tone, almost begging them to heed her request.

Madara and Ciri looked at each other for a moment. "Alright, we're going." Madara said at last, and the next moment they vanished before the servant, who was left surprised. Madara had simply moved fast enough to appear as if he had disappeared before the woman's ordinary eyes, and he was already running along the wall carrying Ciri up to their room.

"Speaking of which, do you have a dress for tomorrow?" Madara suddenly asked, remembering that Ciri needed a wedding dress or something like it. She looked at him as if caught by surprise.

"Of course I do, did you think I wouldn't be prepared for our wedding, you silly?" She asked, bewildered, before laughing. Madara's question had come so suddenly.

"I was just curious, it's just that I know the customs of weddings with white dresses, but this world is different." He said calmly, seeming oblivious to Ciri's silly look.

"Well..." Ciri stopped herself from almost laughing, and looked at him thoughtfully. "I remember we attended several noble weddings in Cintra... and the bride's dresses always varied in colors, mostly related to the houses they belonged to, representing their families... But if you like the idea of me wearing white... you're in luck. Yennefer prepared a white dress for me." She said with a smile. "I loved the dress. But you'll only see me wearing it tomorrow." She added, as if retorting the secret Madara was keeping with the dragon.

"Alright." Madara would say that in his other world that was the custom, after all, they say it's bad luck for the groom to see his bride before the altar.

"I wanted to give you a gift." Madara suddenly said, immediately catching Ciri's attention, who was already naked and settling into the bath the servants had left for her to wash.

"And what would that be?!" She asked with immense curiosity.

Madara pulled out a small box as he joined Ciri in the bathtub. "Here." He handed it to her while she took care not to wet the box. Opening it carefully, she saw a pair of earrings made of gold and emerald. With the green stone shining at its center, Madara would never give a piece that wasn't genuine precious metal, and Ciri's eyes sparkled.

"This is beautiful..." She murmured, staring at him.

"I thought it would match your eyes." He said.

"What happened to my Madara and what have you done with him, since when is he so... romantic?" She laughed, throwing herself on him while the bathwater swayed to the point of spilling onto the floor, and Ciri found it amusing as she kissed Madara.

"Can't a man be romantic on the eve of his wedding?" He asked, smiling at her after she pulled away from his lips.

"Of course he can!" She said quickly. "It's just unexpected... where did you buy them?" She asked.

"I made them myself." He said, while she raised an eyebrow.

"Really?" That left her surprised, staring intensely into his black eyes.

"I managed to find some free time to work on a few things from the fortune I've accumulated over the years, there are many precious stones and I thought it would be a perfect match for you to wear with your grandmother's necklace." He said while she nodded, kissing him several times and laughing happily.

"I loved it, Madara. I love you." She said.

"I love you too, Ciri." Madara replied as she laughed joyfully, spilling more water out of the tub.

They ended up staying in the bath longer than they intended, until urgent knocks came at the door and that same servant's voice echoed from the other side. "Are you here!? I need you to be ready now! The banquet has already begun! The king is asking about you!" She sounded desperate.

"Let's get ready, this woman could get in trouble." Ciri murmured, though she was so distracted with Madara there, both of them almost forgetting about the banquet after his gift, with her sitting on his lap with a look of desire and reluctance. After all, they were already starting to make love right there.

"We'll finish this later." Madara said, while Ciri, who still hadn't moved from his lap, finally nodded.

"How frustrating. Alright..." She said a little reluctantly.

They got out of the bath and dressed. Ciri put on the earrings, adjusted them and the necklace, and wore a green dress, looking in the mirror hoping to look beautiful so that Madara wouldn't take his eyes off her that night.

"So, how do I look?" She asked, while moving her dress from side to side with her hands.

"Do I really need to answer?" Madara said, adjusting his robes. He was wearing Japanese attire today, of a medieval oriental noble. On his back was the Uchiha symbol with the fan and fire.

Madara didn't hold back in showing himself at that moment. Ciri thought he looked handsome, very exotic in that outfit, he always had strange clothes different from those people normally wore, whether commoners or nobles.

"You look very handsome in this kimono." She said close to his face while wrapping her arms around his neck, near his lips. "But I won't kiss you now, since I might smudge your face with my lipstick." She said.

"Then let's go." He said, and she nodded, slipping her arms into his as they finally began to leave and head toward the main hall.

This chapter was focused only on the couple's romance, which I think was fitting given the fact that they'll be married the next day. The banquet will be brief, I intend to just summarize it and move on to the wedding.
