Chapter 53 - 53. Home – Part B

Aku is on the village outskirts with her mother, Patricia. She holds sand in her hands which contains insects and dry leaves. "Okay mum, the thing about Information magic is gaining knowledge from what you can sense, but for starters it's what you can see." Patricia nods her head as she looks at the sand, Aku continues. "I want you to look at the sand in my hand, gather mana in your eyes and focus on the sand. You should be able to see things that are in it on a detailed level."

Patricia stares at the sand as EP slowly gathers in her eyes, she opens her eyes wide. "I see it, I see it. There's some green stuff beneath the leaves, ants and a worm."

Aku nods her head with a proud grin, "Wait? Did you say worm?" Aku looks at the sand in her hand, "GYAAAHHH!" she threw the sand away, she rubs her hand in her clothes a lot as Patricia giggles. "Not funny mum!"

Patricia walks to Aku, she stretches her hands towards Aku. "$##%&@@ > CLEAN." Aku glows as her clothes are made clean.

Aku is surprised, "You can use magic?"

Patricia smiles, "Of course. I have the job of a mage." She makes a pose and smiles at Aku.

Aku gives a wry smile, "I'm glad you could pick Information magic up so quickly, that just shows your talent."

Patricia rubs her chin, "Yeah, I didn't know APPRAISAL could have such features."

Aku is confused, she wonders what to say then.

[APPRAISAL Is a sub skill of INFORMATION MAGIC.]

Aku nods her head, "Actually, APPRAISAL is a subskill of INFORMATION MAGIC."

Patricia smiles, "That does make sense, this information magic even allows me measure the amount of mana needed for a spell. Previously I just pump it with mana and hope for the best."

Aku gives a wry smile while her thoughts, "WHAT THE HECK! Mum's a mage?! How come I'm only finding out now?!" then she speaks, "I guess that's all, let's head back."

Patricia nods as she walks with Aku back, Patricia meets a neighbor and splits from Aku as Aku heads home alone. Something about Sewing association of some kind.

Aku is in deep thoughts, "Hey System, are you there?"

[Community Interface Active.]

"Can you add my mother to this Community group thing?" Aku is walking towards Twenny's house.

[ENTITY ID: Patricia Barimah has been added to Community Platform.]

Aku looks at the kids playing a game of chase, she reaches Twenny's house as she stands at the gate. "System, what is this job my mother spoke of?"

[Job Class Specification: An individual can specialize their class in the direction of the job given. A job focuses an individual's growth towards a specific direction, be it mage, knight, soldier, maid, hunter or others. Jobs classes are randomized for first timers but can be altered subsequent times to produce desired results.]

"Waaoow, that's impressive. But I noticed we don't have a job class, why is that?"

[A job class is good for starters as it grants enormous boost to individuals of such classes, the boost is at most 40%. But later when level gets higher, it limits said individual and can even act as a prison for the individual.]

Aku is startled, "A prison?! How?"

[Having a job class allows you access to skills relating to ONLY that job class. Example, it would be impossible for a mage to use shield techniques or any physical enhancements.] This is probably about Chuck, he has affinity to be a great mage but Twenny trained him to use a shield instead. No one knows this.

Aku rubs her chin, "So job classes restrict someone the higher the level, so what about us without a job class?"

[Not having a job class is the best course of action since this allows you to wield any skill belonging to any job class without being restricted to one job class. Although starting from level one without a job class is hard since the boost is not received but not having one at higher levels greatly increases your potential. This route has the chance of creating the 'Jack of all trades' potential.]

Aku nods her head, "So it has to deal with potentials. Having a job class makes you stronger at lower levels but at higher levels you can't use skills from other job classes. I'd like to ask, having a class and not having a class. Which is stronger?"

[Not having a class is the right choice. The concept of levels doesn't make one invincible to lower levels rather lower-level individuals can use wits to win against powerful opponents.]

Aku smiles, "I guess Twenny did set us on the right path. But I'd like to ask, does she have a job class or even know about job classes?"

[No, ENTITY: Twenny never once thought of job classes because her inherent level was high to begin with.]

Aku is surprised, "Okay so what's inherent level?"

[The level a person is born with.]

Aku is shocked, "Wait? So not everyone is born at level 1?!"

[No, if the parents' level is very high it's entirely possible for the offspring to inherit at least half of the parents' level.]

Aku grabs her head, "Woooaaaaw! That's so cool!" to onlookers, she's talking to herself at this point. "So what level must the parent be for the children to inherit their levels?"

[At least level 40 then the children can inherit half, worse case scenario the children receive a tenth of it.]

Aku is even more amazed, "A baby at level 8 is more than capable of beating an adult. This is amazing!"

[A baby at level 8 without a job class is capable of beating an adult. The job classes always start at level 1 and the offspring do not inherit job classes.]

Aku's hands shakes, "Still, this is incredible. If I manage to reach level 80 then my baby would be a super baby, how awesome is that!" she enters the front yard of Twenny's house and walks to the door. "No wonder Twenny is so strong, she was born at a high level to begin with."

[......…]

Aku knocks on the door, "Thanks for the lesson."

[Glad to be of help. Don't hesitate to ask the Buddy Figure anything!] the conversation ends.

Twenny's door opens to reveal Aella, she beams up from seeing Aku. "Afternoon, Aku." Aella gestures for Aku to enter.

Aku smiles at her, "Afternoon, Aella." Aku enters the house, she sees Aeifi on a couch. "Wait what's that?" She points at the couch.

Aella walks to the couch and rubs her hands in it with a smile, "Some sort of rabbit chair, it's soft and very comfortable. Have a seat."

Aku walks to the couch and sits in it, "Oh, oh, ohhhhh. That's the stuff. Zzzzz. Zzzzz. ZZzzzz"

Aella looks at Aku with wide eyes, Aeife chuckles as she speaks. "It's no surprise, you slept the same way when you sat on it." She giggles.

Aella raises a brow, "Oh, but I remember waking up to see you hugging me like a pillow." Aeife blushes as she looks away, Aella looks at Aeife with a teasing smile. Aella looks at Aku, "By the way, why did Aku come here?"

Aeife jolts then she looks at Aku, she giggles then opens the fridge. Luckily, they know not to eat wrappers.
