A Dragon Race genius who had mocked Max earlier now looked pale.
An Angel Race participant frowned deeply and muttered, "This is absurd. There's never been anything normal about that Primordial."
Not far away, a Devil Race cultivator clenched his jaw. "He shouldn't have made it this far. Someone should have stopped him long before now."
None of those reactions mattered to Max.
He simply stood there for a moment, letting his breathing settle fully after the battle. The fight against the Eighth Shadow hadn't been easy, and traces of that brutal confrontation still lingered in his body. His expression stayed calm, though, and his eyes held no trace of pride or excitement.
To everyone else, clearing the Eighth Shadow was a shocking feat.
To Max, it was only another step.
He lifted his head and looked into the distance, where the path to the ninth monolith lay beyond the eighth. That was where his attention already was.
