Max knew nothing about Kaelzor's orders or the conversation that had passed between the two Devil Race geniuses.
By the time Arkorg finished speaking with Kaelzor, Max had already entered the Ninth Monolith.
The atmosphere inside was noticeably heavier than before. There were fewer participants here, and nearly everyone present carried the aura of someone who had survived countless difficult battles. Simply reaching the Ninth Monolith was proof enough that none of them were ordinary geniuses.
Max barely spared them a glance.
His eyes moved toward the distant entrance of the Ninth Shadow Trial, and then he sighed. "I have to fight a few more battles again."
Even Max had started to grow tired of gathering Bronze Marks before every shadow trial. The shadows themselves were interesting, since each battle gave him something new to study or comprehend, but the endless cycle of entering the Challenge Platform and beating people purely for marks was beginning to feel like a chore.
