The day was a complete wash.
Cass couldn't get the energy to do anything. Not leave the house. Not read a book. Not even eat. Edgar and Gideon were the ones that really took care of him, Sam making sure that everything else was going well behind the scenes.
Even with Cass and the others worried, that didn't mean that the rest of the world stayed still.
The King responded to Aunt Alysora's letter, didn't respond to Cass', and they received other mail from an unknown sender. Sam was the one who sniffed out that the unmarked letter amongst all of the other letters that Cass got was important because it was addressed to all of them.

However, now was not the time for Cass to read anything. Edgar brought him up to his bedroom, tucking him into bed while trying to get his own answers to his questions. Surprisingly, this was all related to Cassian as well.
