Alaric carefully cleaned her body and replied, "Teacher Greene from the Greene family is gentle and kind. There's nothing wrong with anything she does. If anything went wrong, it must be because her family didn't do enough to protect her."
Emerald's heart, once filled with anxiety, slowly softened under Alaric's gentle care.
"How did you find Ariza?" she asked.
Alaric looked at her and explained, "I used facial recognition to trace the origins of those gangsters. If someone wanted to kill you, they wouldn't use just any local thugs. These people have been watching you all afternoon. You don't know them, so I knew they were working for someone else behind the scenes."
He paused before continuing, "I had someone investigate their backgrounds and found out that your former colleague and one of the others grew up in the same neighborhood."
Emerald lifted her head to meet his gaze. "Did you arrest Ariza?"
