Sam woke up early the next morning, eyes staring blankly at the ceiling as he slowly sat up on the bed.
He let out a quiet sigh, his chest rising and falling as the memories of yesterday came flooding back to him like a wave he hadn't prepared for.
Without a doubt, it had been the most intense day in both of his lives.
First came the fight with Jevil, which alone would've been enough to exhaust him.
Then came the shadow [Forsaken Lord], a presence so terrifying it still made Sam's skin crawl when he thought about it.
And all of that had happened on the same day that his guild rose to the top of the rankings.
Then there was that strange new guild announcement.
He rolled his shoulders and stretched, trying to shake off the heaviness he felt.
At least the meeting wouldn't be until tomorrow.
That meant today was gonna be a break.
He had a full day with no looming mission, no ambush to prepare for, no deadly encounter to survive.
