Chapter 132 - Vampire City VII

"You are here once again," Braham said neutrally, but his mind was reeling. Damn…

Damn, I thought he would die, so why is he here once again? Braham thought.

"My reward?" Blade ignored him and asked directly.

"Why should I give you the reward?" Braham scoffed.

Blade, however, remained calm, his golden eyes gleaming as he stared at Braham. Seeing this, Braham let out a tired sigh.

"Enough," he muttered.

The ground trembled as a figure emerged from the shadows. No… it wasn't just a figure—it was a Lich.

"Mumud!"

The air grew heavy as the legendary Lich, Mumud, awakened.

"Kill them all," Braham commanded.

Dark energy surged, and in an instant, Mumud unleashed a devastating beam of death. It was the infamous Dark Dragon's Breath.

"Hah, Mumud was a legend like me," Braham sneered. "You're all done for."

Blade tightened his grip on his sword, his eyes narrowing.

"But it seems you forcibly revived him," he said, his voice calm yet sharp.

Braham flinched, but his expression quickly returned to indifference.

"You are forcibly controlling a soul in front of me, Braham. What do you think will happen if I lift the seal?" Blade said as he activated Holy Purification on Mumud.

Mumud let out a scream of agony, his undead body trembling as the holy power purified him from within. But it wasn't just the holy magic harming him—it was also freeing him.

Braham's expression twisted, as he felt he no longer have control over Mumud.

"Braham! You bastard! Stealing my knowledge and my achievement wasn't enough for you… I even forgave you, yet you forced me into this undead form!" Mumud roared, his rage overflowing as he turned toward Braham, his lich form aura emitting like an tide.

"I didn't know… Behind the legend of the greatest magicians, there was such a truth," Mercedes said, her voice laced with disbelief.

Blade nodded solemnly. "A teacher who stole his own disciple's potential… It's truly sad."

Mumud, now free, turned his wrath toward Braham. Right now, Braham's soul was just a fragmented remnant of what it once was, barely holding together. He tried to resist, but in the end, with a final burst of magic, he fled.

As the remnants of Mumud's aura settled, he turned to Blade and said, "Thank you… for freeing me."

"You have done me a great favor," he continued, his voice steadier now. "If I can repay that favor—"

Granny, who had been observing from the side, interrupted. "Keep him. He's a genius who might prove to be useful. Learn from him. Even though you have attained the Sun tribe legacy, your magic is still lacking. Sun tribe were magic Swordsman but they neglected magic, but he can fill that gap for you."

Blade looked at Mumud, considering the suggestion. Then, with a determined expression, he spoke:

"Then serve me."

Lich Mumud met his gaze. "You mean… teach you? Be your mage?"

"Like a knight," Blade confirmed.

"I don't think it would be good for a Saint like you to be seen with an undead, demonic being like me," Mumud said with a sigh. "I can give you my knowledge if that is all you want."

"Nope, I want you," Blade replied firmly. "Your knowledge is old. I think you should travel with me and see how much the world has changed since you left."

"As for your demonic body, I can fix that," Blade added.

Mumud lifted his hollow eyes toward him. "...If you can give me another body and lay this one to rest properly, I will follow you. As long as you keep your word, I will delay my entrance to the cycle of reincarnation."

"I will repay this favor of yours," he promised.

Blade nodded. "Okay then. But first, what do you think is the best material for magic?"

Mumud regarded him curiously. "Why do you ask?"

Blade smiled. "I'm also a sculptor. I'll create a body for you, one crafted from the best materials to enhance your magic power and make you stronger."

Mumud fell silent for a moment, considering the offer. "If that's the case, then there are many types of minerals, but I think you can refine a normal one into a Magic Mineral using magic forging."

"Magic forging?" Blade asked, intrigued. "How does that work?"

"You just need to expose a mineral or ore to magic spells—10,000 times, to be precise. If you use a attribute magic then it will have that property too, like striking a ore with fireball will have that mineral engraved with that spell" He said as Blade nodded.

"Okay, I can create it. So, which mineral is best to use it with?" he asked.

Mumud looked at him and shrugged. "How would I know? I'm no blacksmith."

Balde nodded. "That's fine, then. But where should I store you now?"

Mumud pointed at the coffin nearby. "That coffin is an artifact I have. You can use it to seal me for the time being."

Balde looked at the coffin and then noticed a ring inside. "This is...?"

Mumud glanced at it. "That's Braham's ring. It's useless to me, so you take it."
