The officer was sitting behind his desk, idly reading a magazine. When Allen's shadow blocked some light and appeared beside him, he curiously looked up at Allen.
"I don't know you!" The officer put down the magazine; this is the police station, and he didn't feel he was in danger.
He leaned back in his chair, sizing up Allen from top to bottom, a bit unclear about who this young man was.
There was something unusual about him, something indescribable but definitely not ordinary.
"David introduced me here, Officer David from the Highway Patrol."
When Allen mentioned this name, the officer froze for a moment, and the alert expression on his face softened significantly. "David?"
