Chapter 67 - Chapter 66: Drum Kingdom (IV)

After everything calmed down, Nami went straight to bed so she could continue resting, Dalton was checked and his wounds were closed so he could stay on bed rest, and Sanji was left tied to a bed to fix his spine.

"How is it that you're still alive?"

Kureha and Oliver were in the room where Kureha made the medicines, where she was examining Oliver.

"What do you mean?" Oliver asked, moving his neck.

"This."

She grabbed Oliver's arm, which no longer had as much black color.

"It's the Raisin disease," Kureha said, letting go of his arm.

"What?" Oliver said, not believing that name.

"It is an extremely aggressive and deadly disease. In just a few hours the body begins to take on a black tone similar to necrosis, and when the whole body takes on that tone, the body begins to be consumed by itself until it looks like a raisin."

Upon finishing the explanation, Oliver's jaw dropped completely open.

"What I find strange is that you can still be alive. This disease kills a person in just a few hours, but you are here, it even seems that it was healing since before I gave you the medicine," Kureha said.

"I guess I got lucky," Oliver said.

"Hmmmm... Take these medicines and keep taking them for a few more days," Kureha told him. "Now let's go with the others, as you seem to be better than the rest."

They left the room to head over to the rest.

"So you were sick," Elegg said.

"What a scare. Where did you come from?" Oliver said, not expecting her to appear out of nowhere.

"I was waiting behind the door," Elegg said, walking next to Oliver.

"I hadn't seen you," Oliver said.

Following Kureha, they entered where the rest were, though not before passing by where Sanji was tied up without being able to move.

"His condition worsened due to everything he did," Kureha said.

While Kureha talked a bit with Dalton, Oliver went to see Nami.

"I see you're still in bed... That's good," Oliver said.

"And how are you? They told me you were sick too, and you were telling me to rest," Nami said.

"Nah, it's nothing. Just a small discomfort in my arm," Oliver said.

Kureha finished talking with Dalton, where she realized they probably lost the key to the armory.

"Doctorine. I'm not going to pay you for treating us, and can you let us continue with our journey now?" Nami told her, getting up a bit from the bed.

"Are you kidding? I'm going to take all the treasure from your ship for the medical expenses, and besides, you still have to stay here for another 2 days," Kureha said.

"She's right. Nami-san, you should stay here until you're cured," Vivi told her.

"I'm quite fine now. I'm not lying to you, nor do I want to die," Nami said.

"But..." Vivi said, trying to convince her.

"Let Nami negotiate," Oliver told her while watching the whole situation.

"So, do you really need the key?" Nami said, holding the key in her hand.

"Is that the real key? What's going on here?" Kureha said, confused.

"I'm not lying," Nami said.

"You're very brave to use this key to negotiate with me. You're not a good girl after all," Kureha said, realizing she had the key. "Alright, I'll take this as payment for the medical expenses. Anyway, as the doctor that I am, I still can't let you go."

"Wait! Then give me the key back," Nami told her.

"Listen to me, I'm going to do some things downstairs and I'll leave the door open. In that closet there are some of my coats and no one is going to stay in this room. Besides, I have already healed the two boys," Kureha said, and then left with all the citizens.

"I think she wants me to grab her coat, grab Sanji, and escape from here," Nami said.

"That's what I heard too," Vivi said.

"Well, I think we'll have to do that. Elegg, help find that coat while I go for Sanji," Oliver said.

"Yes!"

They got ready, where Oliver grabbed Sanji and then found a sled where they put him on top and started dragging it to get out of the castle.

"How did he break his back?" Elegg asked.

"Who knows. I was hit by the avalanche and that didn't happen to me," Oliver replied.

"You had a disease in your arm, but an avalanche did nothing to you? What are you made of?" Nami asked.

"Of a human and a mink," Oliver said.

Just then, a lot of noise was heard outside, so when they went out they saw how Luffy was shouting until he turned around, seeing Luffy.

"Reindeer! Hey! You want to become a pirate with me, right?" Luffy said happily.

"That's impossible," Chopper said.

"Why is it impossible? A pirate's life is very fun, you know?" Luffy said.

"I really wanted to thank you guys. But I am a reindeer! I have hooves and antlers, plus a blue nose! I really want to be a pirate, but I'm not a human, I'm a monster! I can't be friends with a human! That's why I came here to thank you! Thank you for asking me, but I'm going to stay here. If you're bored, come visit me someday."

With every word Chopper said, he collapsed further into sadness, but Luffy...

"Shut up and come with us!!"

Upon hearing him say that, everyone started to laugh a little.

"Yes!" Chopper accepted instantly.

"Hey! Why aren't we going to say goodbye to the doctor and that guy?" Luffy asked while playing with the snow.

"It'll be better if you leave Chopper alone because it would be a sad goodbye. Even though Doctorine seems like a horrible person, she's actually a good person," Nami said.

"So we're leaving without saying goodbye," Usopp said.

"That's right, when Chopper comes back, we will go to our ship and head straight to Alabasta," Nami said. "I hope that's alright with you, Vivi."

"Sure, as long as we have a doctor with us, I'm fine," Vivi said.

"Doctor?" Luffy said, confused.

"I think we should get ready now," Oliver said. "I have a feeling we're going to have to run."

"Why do you say that?" Luffy asked.

"Because of the noise," Oliver said, hearing noise coming from the castle.

"I don't hear anything," Elegg said.

Just then, the rest of the crew heard a great deal of noise.

"Why can't there be a quiet goodbye?" Nami asked.

"That would be boring," Oliver said, grabbing Sanji and lifting him onto his shoulders.

"What are you doing?" Nami asked him.

"Here he comes," Zoro said.

Everyone stared as Chopper ran straight toward them with a sled tied to his body.

"Everyone! Get on! We're going down now!" Chopper shouted.

Running behind Chopper was Kureha, throwing knives left and right, so they quickly got on so he could jump and start going down, using the cable car rope as a path.

"Yahooo! Incredible! Can we do it again?!" Luffy asked excitedly.

"Are you an idiot? We have to go right now!" Nami yelled at him.

"I thought I was going to die," Usopp said, frightened.

"It wasn't even that bad. Don't be a whiner," Oliver said, laughing a little.

"Huh! Where am I?" Sanji said, waking up.

"Wow, you finally woke up," Elegg said.

They kept advancing until they were finally quite far away, until the Drum Rockies transformed into gigantic Sakura trees, making Chopper cry.
