While she was eating, Philaya looked extremely satisfied.
Just as she had thought, the food in Hope Village really tasted great—so much sweeter than anything she'd found out in the wild! And there were even things she'd never eaten before.
One after another, the basket quickly emptied, and then her gaze shifted to the other basket, where she immediately grabbed a bright yellow fruit.
She'd just eaten something similar; the skin wasn't great, but the flesh was tart, sweet, and juicy—this one was probably the same.
"Lord Long, maybe bite it first, see if you're used to it..." Beck piped up.
But before he could finish, Philaya chucked the so-called lemon straight into her mouth, and with her sharp teeth, she bit down hard.

A wave of intense sourness flooded Philaya's mouth. Instantly, she felt her teeth go soft, and her tongue started to go numb.
"This fruit is poisonous!" She spat the lemon out at once and glared furiously at Beck.
