"It sounds absurd," Anna, the receptionist, said as she listened to Kael's story. "Why would he ride a mechanical horse if it's so old that its parts keep falling off every time it walks?"
"Yeah, I wonder about that too," Kael said, his eyes never leaving hers. "He probably just wanted to spread some fun—and if that's what he was thinking, then he succeeded. Gotta appreciate a guy who just wants laughter from his audience. You really should've seen him."
"Your story just makes me want to meet him more and more," Anna said with a chuckle.
"Yeah..." Kael said slowly.
Anna stared at the man beside her, and under his gaze, she couldn't help but adjust her clothes, swallowing nervously as her face turned red. She struggled to handle the intensity of his stare.
"So... what about the face I'm making? You said I'm not going to be able to find a husband," Anna said after a moment of thought.
"Look at me," Kael said, raising his hand to gently touch her chin, guiding her to look at him.
