Peter slowly stabilized his breathing. He calmed his nerves down slowly but surely, releasing tension that had suddenly accumulated inside his muscles and body. Once done, he narrowed his eyes and continued his steady breathing.
Whenever he moved, he held his breath, and once done, resumed. So that his breathing rhythm would not be disrupted, and would proceed forth as usual. He tightly gripped his knife and pistol, ready to fire at a moment's notice.

He could not be careless and accidentally pull it, as if he did, even though he had a silencer, it would still produce a significant amount of noise. Especially in a location as silent as the dense forest, where only the sounds of the wind and critters could be heard.
