With the deep toll of the bell echoing through the streets, Quagmire ran with ultimate determination. He gazed from left to right, keeping track of the ghouls that were pursuing him. Once his eyes landed on the ghouls, he redirected his gaze back to the front, knowing that they had neither increased nor decreased their speed; rather, they were maintaining it.
His gaze faltered, and his mouth opened wide as a set of three ghouls suddenly appeared before him, just as he was about to increase his speed. His heart increased its beat as he rummaged through his brain for various different solutions.
Moments passed into seconds, and adrenaline started to reenter his system as time seemed to slowly pass by, thereby making all moving objects and his entire perspective move slowly, when in fact he was just thinking so fast in variables.
