Chapter 543 - Chapter 543: Don’t Tell Them!

Actually, the main reason Old Wu said those words to Rookie was to warn him that simply pausing the server was definitely not a long term solution to the problem.

At the same time, he also did not want Rookie to take reckless action out of panic. After all, he truly cared about this apprentice whom he treated like a treasure.

He was genuinely worried that Rookie might do something too impulsive and end up getting himself into trouble.

When Old Wu heard Rookie say that he already had his own plan, although he still had no idea what Rookie was planning, just from the expression on Rookie's face, it seemed like he had some level of confidence.

Even though Old Wu still did not know the exact details of Rookie's plan, at least the worry in his heart eased a little.

Old Wu lowered his head slightly and thought carefully for quite a while before finally nodding slowly.

Then he raised his head, looked straight at Rookie, and asked, "Tell me then. How do you want me to help you?"

Seeing that Old Wu agreed so readily, the tension in Rookie's heart finally relaxed. He let out a long breath of relief and looked at Old Wu with gratitude.

However, Rookie did not say much. He only raised his finger and gently pointed at the thermos cup that Old Wu was holding tightly in his hand.

Old Wu first looked down at the thermos in his palm with confusion, then looked back at Rookie. From his puzzled and confused eyes, it was clear that Old Wu had no idea what Rookie was trying to do.

"What, you want some water?" Old Wu asked with a confused look while handing the thermos to Rookie.

Hearing this, Rookie rolled his eyes. After letting out a long sigh, he awkwardly scratched his neck. His eyes wandered around and he did not even dare to look at Old Wu as he stammered.

"Well… you go take this… and pour it in the server room…"

Hearing Rookie's words, Old Wu's eyes instantly widened like copper bells. "What?!!!"

"You're telling me, a former top hacker in the country and now a senior programming director at the world's top game company, to become a physical hacker?!!!!"

Originally, Old Wu had thought the help Rookie wanted was something technical.

For example, lowering the server's security level or deliberately creating some vulnerabilities.

Although doing that would definitely put Old Wu at considerable risk, he had actually already mentally prepared himself.

But no matter how much he calculated, he never expected that the help Rookie wanted would be physical.

Seeing Old Wu so emotional, even starting to introduce his own background, Rookie was shocked and quickly covered Old Wu's mouth tightly with both hands, lowering his voice and saying, "Shh! Keep it down! Is that something to be proud of?!"

Old Wu was stunned for a moment when Rookie suddenly covered his mouth. Then he rolled his eyes hard, forcefully pushed Rookie's hand away, showed a helpless expression, and looked straight at Rookie as he asked, "Have you really thought this through?"

Rookie immediately nodded like a woodpecker, his head moving up and down so fast it was shocking.

"I need some time, but any other method that pauses the server will only be temporary."

"Only this method can make the server stay paused longer…"

Rookie explained seriously to Old Wu.

After hearing Rookie's words and seeing his sincere and anxious expression, Old Wu could not help but let out a long sigh and muttered quietly, "Sigh… what else can I do? My own apprentice can only be spoiled by me…"

After silently preparing himself mentally, Old Wu took a deep breath. With the determination of someone going to battle, he looked at Rookie firmly, gently patted his shoulder, and said earnestly.

"If something goes wrong later, you must make sure to pull your master out of trouble…"

Seeing this, Rookie quickly raised his hand and patted Old Wu's shoulder. His eyes were so determined it was like he was about to join the party.

He raised his hand, pointed his index finger toward the ceiling, and said, "Master, don't worry! I've got someone backing me up!"

Rookie's words were like a reassurance pill for Old Wu. If Rookie had not mentioned it, Old Wu would have forgotten that Rookie had an unusual relationship with Notch.

With Notch backing him up, Old Wu really had nothing to worry about. After thinking this, he immediately picked up his thermos and prepared to head into battle.

Seeing this, Rookie quickly stopped him. "Don't rush yet. After you get inside, keep an eye on your phone. Only make your move when I tell you to."

At this point, Rookie still seemed a bit worried and continued, "Take it easy… even if we have someone backing us, don't burn the whole motherboard… we can't afford to pay for it…"

Hearing Rookie's reminder, Old Wu rolled his eyes and flicked Rookie on the forehead. "Are you the master or am I the master? Would I not know my limits?"

After saying that, he waved his hand. "You hurry back in. Someone will definitely come looking for me soon to rush me to the meeting. You handle it yourself. I'm off!" After saying that, he walked toward the emergency stairway.

Watching Old Wu's relaxed departing figure, the tension in Rookie's heart finally eased, and he let out a long breath.

He steadied himself, reached out, and pushed open the stairwell door. Just as he stepped out, a clear voice reached his ears.

"Rookie, have you seen your master?" Rookie followed the voice and saw the secretary standing not far away with an anxious face, her eyes full of expectation.

Rookie quickly nodded, cleared his throat, and said, "Yeah, just saw him."

Before he even finished speaking, he seemed to suddenly remember something and quickly added, "Just now he stood in front of me and went boom!!… bang!!!… pew… puch and let out a whole bunch of rainbow farts before clutching his stomach and running to the bathroom."

Hearing Rookie's vivid B-BOX performance, the secretary's expression instantly became a bit strange, as if she could already smell something indescribable.

She subconsciously wrinkled her nose and showed an awkward but polite smile as she softly said, "Hehe… I see. Then when he comes out of the bathroom later, please tell him to go straight to the meeting room. I still have a lot of things to handle, I'll go first…"

"Alright~ Bye Sister Wang~" Rookie waved enthusiastically as he watched the secretary leave in a hurry.

After the secretary disappeared from sight, Rookie immediately turned around and went back into Notch's office. Just as he was about to continue observing the situation in the game, the phone in his pocket rang.

The caller was Steve. After Rookie answered, Steve's anxious voice immediately came from the other side.

"Rookie, I saw Black Blade's livestream! What should we do now?"

"Entity 303 and the others are still in the item dimension. The situation outside… should I tell them?…"

Hearing Steve's words, Rookie did not even think and immediately replied.

"Don't tell them! Let them stay in the item dimension!"
