Previously, Blake would have struggled to plead with Leah for anything. However, he desired her jade terribly that he found himself doing something he never thought he would do.
He longed to hold the jade in his palm once more. He wanted to feel his legs again.
He was too young to understand what it meant, so all he knew was that he yearned for that jade.
Feeling awkward, Blake avoided eye contact with Leah when he asked, "May I buy your jade from you?"
On the other hand, Leah could not believe her ears because Blake never voluntarily spoke to her until then.
What surprised her more was his request. With her mind still reeling, she blurted, "What?"
"May I buy your jade from you?" Blake repeated while shoving the cash closer to Leah. "These are all my money. If it's not enough, you can write me an IOU."
He paused, then continued, "Just name me a price for the jade, and I'll definitely pay you."
Although Blake was only a kid, he was fully aware of the concept of transactions.
