Rayan leaned against the cold stone wall, his shirtless body freezing in the poorly lit cell of his.
"May flames bring that wretched king to his knees..."
He muttered for the fourteenth time in the last hour, it had become his saving grace for the last several months... Years? He had no real way to know how long he had been trapped this crowded cage.
"Hey cutie, Come on! Look at the strapping soldier in front of ya will ya?"
A man put a hand on the frightened girl cowering in fear with her eyes shut closed.
It must have put a terrible strain on a seer of her potential to even accidentally look at someone...
'What a pitty...'
Rayan thought...
"COME ON GIRL! LEMME AT YA!"
The poor excuse for a man screamed as he shoved the girl back against the wall.
"H-Hey knock it off!"
A scrawny kid who was quite familiar chirped from his corner of the cell.
"And if I dont? Whatchya gonna do about it rockmuncher?"
The man put a hand on the girl's face, as she shivered from his violent touch. But the scrawny kid who had been stripped nearly naked and beaten by the guards stood up and limped towards the man.
"Come on kid... Let a man have some fun, not like you mud midgets can do anything to a righteous man like me..."
The kid continued forward, until he was looking up and into the man's eyes.
His face had been terribly beaten, yet he looked up with no hesitation into the Fein's eyes.
'Gotta respect the kid...'
Rayan thought just as a loud PFFT sound echoed throughout the now silent hallway full of cages...
The man lifted his hand and scrunched his face, as he wiped the spit off of his face.
"You fucked up dwarf..."
The man immediately threw a punch at the small dwarf's face, letting a loud crash echo through the halls, then another, then another, until the man was laying down hammer after hammer into the boy who was now in a prone position taking the hits from above him.
Rayan finally pushed himself off of the wall, and slowly walked towards the incident taking place.
With little remorse on his face, he reached onto the ground, picking up a small rock...
He stepped forward, letting the man beat into the boy, counting every single hit that took place in that small prison cell.
"M-may flames bury the king of c- corruption..."
Rayan muttered lifelessly, as he now stood behind the crazed man.
Then he lifted the rock, and a smile took place on Rayan's dry lips.
And the next thing he knew... Seventeen loud crunches filled the dungeon halls...
Blood was littered across the cold stone floor, who knows, maybe it even warmed the place up a little.
But the same couldn't be said for the completely caved in skull of the man below him, as Rayan dropped the rock onto the blood soaked floor, still with that same lifeless expression on his face.
Then after several moments of nothingness, he stepped over the dead body and walked over to his corner, where he had been hiding a dry towel...
He picked it up, and slowly walked over to the sobbing boy.
"Here... Don't let the guards see it..."
He let the towel fall onto the boy's bloodied and tear-covered face.
"May flames bury this wretched kingdom..."
Rayan mumbled as he looked over at the girl who was trembling violently in the corner, not even bothering to cover her beautiful eyes anymore.
'The strain must be terrible...'
He thought, feeling as if everything had been on repeat for the last month...
It was like he was a better prison guard than the actual guards... He had killed more men in this very cell than he had in his entire life of battle...
"Curse this world..."
He muttered, sitting down next to the trembling girl.
"What's your name girl?"
He asked quietly, looking up at the ceiling, which he had counted each and every single board of wood a number of times in recent days.
"You don't gotta answer... Hell, you should just let me kill you and the boy while I'm at it... Better then sitting in here forever. No shame in it either, plenty of kind souls have asked the same of me... I try my best not to make it as painful as that sinner's..."
She shook her head, even though it was hard to notice with all of her trembling, as she hadn't moved her arms from covering her chest once.
'Poor kid...'
Rayan felt nothing though... As he said, he had taken the life out of so many bright souls only because it was better then seeing them rot in such a hell...
"I-Ivy..."
She eventually said, surprising Rayan.
"The mad king's toy..."
Rayan grinned, although coldly.
He scoffed, letting his back lazily slide further against the wall.
"You prolly get me then... The puppet of a psycho who couldn't have done anything other than be killed at birth..."
Silence was the only thing to be heard after his harsh comment.
"I- I don't see it like that..."
Rayan did something unthinkable, he even promised to scold himself with a good beating later if he remembered.
He boomed with laughter.
"Didn't think you could see at all when we served the king!"
He continued to laugh, and even found joy in the comfort of someone who had been sold off to the king, just as he had...
After he calmed down, the girl let out a short chuckle surprising Rayan even more...
"M-May chaos take the kingdom by storm..."
She said with a crazed look in her eyes...
'Yeah... This aint so bad...'
Rayan gently kicked the boy below him, causing him to flinch.
"Your the kid who followed that boy... What's your name?"
Rayan asked, looking down on the malnourished dwarven boy.
It took a while for him to answer, which Rayan didn't mind. Not like they had anywhere to go...
Eventually though... He did answer, and when he did, Rayan felt shivers run through his blood.
"Gemini, sir..."
"I'll be damned..."
The son of the dwarven king... Rotting in the dungeon of a human king gone mad...
"Ahh... I'm starting to like our chances..."
He sighed, turning his back away from the girl, letting her rest against him.
