Neo lifted his arms up, immediately feeling the snapping jaw of the terrible monster on top of him, come down and around his wrist.
Seething pain erupted in his arms, but he held strong, refusing to let the beast push down toward his face.
"Help!"
He gasped, as an arrow ripped into the jaw of the left face of the monster.
He used the opportunity, letting his axis flow into his arms as he tried to push the beast off of his body with a scream.
It had several more arms than any beast should have, and a body with multiple of the wrong proportions in all of the wrong areas.
He just barely got out from under the screaming monster's grasp, as he quickly scampered out from underneath it, and quickly jumped to his feet, backing up into the wall of the caravan.
"What the hell is that thing?!"
Kaylynn yelled from behind Leo, who was already charging at the monster with his battle axe in hand.
"Wait!"
Neo yelled, but not nearly in time as the beast launched itself at the lion.
Leo yelped, and was kicked square in the chest as his body flew back into the bushes with a loud crash.
Everyone slowly circled around the monster but tried their best to keep a fair distance.
Neo scanned the area and cursed his poor leadership, praying to the gods that someone would be able to kill this wretched creature.
Gideon lowered his body, setting a palm on the ground, as he stood on the other side of the battlefield.
The gravel pathway they stood on, began to shift and unravel, as a large chasm started to open up, trying its best to vacuum the monster inside of it.
But it only dug its clawed feet deeper into the ground and started forward and directly towards Gideon.
Neo grit his teeth, and started to sprint as he quickly grabbed his snake-like blade off of the ground, he leaped over the center of the cavern, and readied his blade as he landed with a thud behind the disfigured monster.
He swung at its legs, ripping into the white flesh of the beast.
It thrashed and screamed, kicking Neo backwards and directly into the wall of the caravan.
Reinhart Of The House Of Orion...
Reinhart was sweating underneath his hefty helmet, but he had little choice but to charge, he was a tank, and in being a tank, he had to protect his ally.
Sprinting with heavy steps, he swung straight upwards with all of his might, letting the weight of his mighty sword pull him.
His blade met the grotesque flesh of the beast's arm, as it refused to dig any deeper than a couple of inches.
'No...'
The beast pulled the blade out of its flesh with one of its many arms, and grinned with its gaping mouth, as drool spilled out from its extremely dry lips.
The beast grabbed Reinhart's Chestplate, pulling it right off of him with a snap.
Then right before one of its claws shot toward his chest, a gust of wind launched Reinhart five meters back and away from the beast as its claws met nothing but the heavy air of the night.
Bandit...
Luke slid down the side of the watch tower that he had taken position within, as he pulled the string of his crossbow back with his teeth.
Tossing it into the air as he dropped from a three meter tall rooftop made of scaffolding, he drew an arrow and clenched it between his teeth by the nock of the arrow, and with his only hand, he caught the crossbow, and loaded it with swiftness as he landed.
He ran toward the strange creature that was wreaking quite the havoc, and shot an arrow right between its eyes.
Much to his misfortune, the beast only screeched and threw its head back in anger.
Luke's thoughts scrambled as he tried to think of a way to kill this thing.
He continued forward even though he had no plan of engagement, latching his crossbow to the strap on his shoulder, drawing a small bronze dagger from his waistband.
Scanning the battlefield, he looked for someone who could aid him in close combat, but it looked like Neo would be out of the fight for quite a moment, and Leo was no where to be seen.
Never the less, Luke continued with a slide under the creature's legs as he slashed behind its knees with his dagger, drawing a strangely dark colored blood from its wound.
He quickly stood and began to circle around the three meter tall monster, as he tightened his grip on the small dagger.
Kaylynn stood forward from behind Reinhart, reaching out with both of her palms as she shut her eyes.
Green flowing markings started to appear on her sleeveless arms.
Kaylynn Of House Kore...
Using everything she had, Kaylynn summoned the forces of her Primis energy, calling forth a powerful gust of wind.
A vortex started to build up as the air started to grow heavier around them.
In front of her, the beast's knee buckled and it collapsed into a kneeling position.
"Gideon! Now!"
The handless outlaw screamed from the other side of the battlefield, as the boy immediately understood his orders.
The ground started to shake, and cave in once more, but this time there was a scarce amount of force within the change in gravity.
The chasm opened once again below the monster, but this time with a terrible amount of inward pull that threatened to swallow everything in the vicinity.
Leo Of The House Of Lion...
Leo lunged forward, ignoring the weight pulling him down.
He was sucked into a two meter hole that was actively pulling the beast down at his center.
However a slight problem had begun to arose as he had gathered himself from the bushes.
He had noticed that even if Gideon and Kaylynn poured their entire reserves into such a vacuum, the beast's strength was far beyond their powers.
Diving on top of the monster's thrashing body, Leo unleashed a frenzy of powerful strikes with his battle axe, as the chasm began to deepen around them.
SLAM
SLAM!
SLAM!
The disgusting ooze from the creature's innards scattered across the gravel walls that only deepened around them, but Leo did not stop his onslaught, just as the creature did not stop its violent thrashing.
Leo then lifted a hand once the chasm started to fill with gravel, as it had gotten to the point where the only thing that surrounded them was a six meter high wall of dirt, stone, and gravel.
Above him, he felt a hand grasp tightly around him, slowly pulling him out from the sinkhole.
Neo screamed as he pulled with all of his might, as Leo continued to kick the crazed monster in the face as many times as he could in order to buy himself enough time to escape.
And sure enough with one powerful pull, Leo shot out from the bottom of the hall just as the walls caved in and the hole swiftly filled with an immense amount of gravel and dirt on top of the monster's corpse.
Leo gasped as he lay prone in the dirt.
"Son of a-"
Beside him, both Neo and Reinhart were also exhausted as they laid with their arms out and their breaths heavy.
They had done it.
"Good job fellas... But I wouldn't rest now..."
Luke sighed, as he helped Leo stand.
He was right, they had gained nothing but exhaustion from this near death endeavor.
