Boom
Two figures, one big and one small, streaked across the sky as they clashed against each other time and time again.
The glowing red light in the background and the portal in the sky gave an eerie and apocalyptic scene for all who witnessed it.
Demons were still pouring out of the portal like ants. However, even they didn't dare to approach them.
Their fierce battle sent shockwaves and debris all around them and shattering buildings.
Boom!
A small figure landed on the roof of a tall building, his dark red cloak fluttering in the wind. His once pale silver hair now stained blood red. His right hand tightly gripped the handle of a demonic and weird looking sword.
His blood red eyes that seemed to contain the world's greatest evils looked up to glare at the huge behemoth hovering in the sky above him.
He didn't say any words, his eyes just silently locked onto the beast hovering above him like a predator staring at a prey.
Its golden skin is covered in strange patterns. It would have been called a beautiful creature if it wasn't for its demonic look and disproportionate body parts.
Seeing Dante looking at it like that infuriated the behemoth. How dare an half breed put on air in front of it!
Although its body was covered with sword wounds, it refused to back down. Instead it growled at the man standing on the roof and roared.
"Do you believe that you can kill me Dante?! I have ascended to a higher lifeform, all you can do is struggle in front of me"
Dante picked his ear with his pinky ignoring the demon's rage as said "It doesn't matter whether you are a higher being or a lower one, it doesn't change the fact that you are going to die here today"
"Ignorant fool" The demon laughed as if it had just heard the funniest joke ever. It had once been a minor demon named Sid but after gaining the powers of a powerful demon named Abigail he had ascended up the hierarchy, he now feared nothing. Let alone a halfbreed.
"Take it however you like but it wouldn't change anything" Dante shrugged unbothered by the demon's laughter
"Die you fool!" The demon Abigail roared as it charged at Dante like a bullet train.
Dante didn't even flinch as the demon closed the distance between them. He only scoffed and swung his sword in a downward swing.
As soon as he did the whole building fell silent. Less than a few seconds later the figure of Abigail appeared behind Dante with a look of disbelief on its face.
It looked at Dante in shock and opened its mouth as if to say something but no words came out of it as a thin blood red line appeared vertically on its body.
Dante slowly seated rebellion on his back before glancing over his shoulder at Abigail and said. "I told you already, take it however you want, you won't be leaving here alive"
As soon as the last words left his mouth, Abigail split down the middle in half. Both half gushing out black demonic blood and quickly turning into a puddle of black liquid. Up until it died it still couldn't understand how it had died.
After killing Abigail Dante didn't linger around and ran towards the tallest skyscraper in the distance that was directly under the portal leading to the underworld.
I doesn't take a genius to know that the source of the hell gate was located there
...
Slash! Boom!
Demons could be seen swarming towards a particular street like crazed animals as if something was attracting them.
The loud roars they gave out drowned out every other noise in the surrounding however a faint sound of something being sliced suddenly sounded out followed by a huge exploded as a huge whole was created within the crowd of demons obliterating the demons.
A silhouette could be seen in the midst of the sea of demons moving around like a ghost. Where he went the demons there would be slashed into pieces.
Occassionally his body would turn a golden color increasing his destructive power, allowing him to blast holes into the swarm of demons with each swing of his blade
'There are too many of them kid'
"You don't think I know that" Naruto frowned as he continued to slash away at the demons, something that he had been doing for the past half and hour.
After helping out lady and Trish he had planned to head to the tower to help handle close the portal to the demon world when he was suddenly swarmed by the demon horde halfway there.
However, what Naruto didn't know was that these demons had already been given command to stop anyone from approaching the tower. As soon as someone gets close they would immediately attack the person.
Shring!
Naruto slashed another dozen demons into pieces before jumping back to put some distance between them but the demon hordes still rushed after him.
He panted heavily as he was hit by a light wave of exhaustion. If this continued he would definitely fall to the horde of demons.
Naruto tried to use his devil trigger again but it just flickered before disappearing.
"We have already exhausted our chakra kid" Kurama reminded as he sighed. The battle had not only taken a huge toll on Naruto but him as it wasn't for Naruto using their chakra sparingly they would have run out of chakra a long time ago.
Naruto's expression became serious as he prepared to welcome the horde of demons when a huge explosion sounded off in the sky.
Naruto looked up to see the hell gate slowly starting to fade away.
The demons charging at Naruto stopped in their tracks and started howling in pain as they also started to fade away, slowly turning into dust.
"What's going on? Did he..."
"He seemed to have succeeded" Kurama said as he stared at the hell gate in the sky as it completely faded away. The dark clouds soon dispersed revealing the spear blue sky behind it as sunlight shined upon the whole city like a divine light.
'Thank goodness' Naruto fell unceremoniously on his butt and sighed in relief. Dante really pulled through at the right moment. If he had been just a few seconds late it would have been over for him. Just thinking about the demon horde swarming him caused him to shudder.
All around the city the demons started to turn to dark dust as soon as the hell gate closed and people started to cheer. Although a lot of people had died in the demon attack just the fact that they survived was enough for them.
While one side was happy the other was filled with sorrow and sadness. Those who lost their families in the disaster started to tear up.
The city was in ruins and more than half of the citizens had died, either to the demons or from falling debris.
Lady and Trish also breathed out in relief that the disaster was finally over.
"I am never doing this again" Lady groaned in disdain. She looked at the broken and bloodied guns in her hands in annoyance and heart ache before tossing it away. She had run out of ammo while fighting off the demons and had been forced to use her guns as melee weapons.
Those were custom made weapons, they cost her a fortune. Just the thought of it made her heart ache.
Trish who was standing beside her gave off an enchanting smile and said. "Don't be like that. At least think about the profit we are going to make for helping them stop this disaster"
"I hope you are right, or else Dante is going to get it from me" Lady scoffed before turning to look at the tower in the distance with Trish.
Even though it was far away they could still make out a silhouette standing at the very peak of it.
...
Dante gazed down at the entire city with a frown on his face. This had all been caused because of his oversight and arrogance. He should have killed that little demon when he had the time.
If he had none of this would have happened.
Alas the damage has already been done, now he could only hope that the city recovers otherwise he might have to consider moving shop again.
