That night, the group gathered to discuss their plan for the next day.
"Going to space? Our aircraft isn't exactly built for that," Nick Fury pointed out.
"I'll handle it." Thor took Fury's phone and made a call. Moments later, a beam of blinding light shone down into Maria Rambeau's yard, and an impressive spaceship materialized, courtesy of the Bifrost.
"Wow!" Monica gasped, eyes wide with amazement. "What a beautiful spaceship!"
Thor gave a proud smile and waved generously. "After the mission, it's yours." He had just contacted Odin for the ship and even requested a protective enchantment on Mjolnir. Although Asgard may look medieval, its technology was advanced—5G had been around for thousands of years there. He wasn't taking any chances with the Kree tomorrow.
"Really? Thanks!" Monica beamed at him, now even more impressed with the "big friendly guy." She'd initially been wary when he ate enough food for ten people, practically emptying her family's refrigerator.
Early the next morning, Yon-Rogg surveyed the body of a Skrull who had been posing as Carol, his face twisted with rage. He activated his communicator, speaking in a low, commanding tone. "The Skrulls have infiltrated planet C-35. I want all units here immediately."
Meanwhile, Thor and his team made their way into Dr. Lawson's lab.
"Is that the Tesseract?" Thor asked, eyeing the energy core—the infamous Space Stone. It was this very gem that would draw Thanos's wrath on Asgard in the future. His grip on Mjolnir tightened, his resolve for today's plan hardening.
Soon, Skrulls began emerging from the shadows, including Talos's wife and daughter, who embraced him tightly.
"We had no idea what to do," one of the female Skrulls explained. "Mar-Vell warned us never to send any messages; otherwise, the Kree would find us."
"You did the right thing," Talos assured them.
Witnessing the heartfelt reunion, Carol felt a pang in her chest. Seeing how the Skrulls looked at her with fear, she approached them gently. "I won't hurt you. I'm so sorry… I didn't know," she murmured.
"Carol, this is war," Talos replied softly. "My hands are just as stained. But now, because of you, I found my family." He bowed his head in gratitude.
After a moment, he continued, "But this is only the beginning. Thousands of our people remain scattered across the galaxy, separated from their families."
Suddenly, the sound of approaching footsteps put everyone on high alert.
"Allying with the enemy, are we?" Yon-Rogg's voice echoed as he entered, flanked by the Starforce. "And what's with your uniform?"
Minn-Erva sneered, "Seems she's been brainwashed by the enemy."
"The Supreme Intelligence will fix that," Korath added with a cold smile.
Yon-Rogg approached, voice dripping with condescension. "I trained you to be your best self." Suddenly, Carol felt her energy fading, and the mocking voice of the Supreme Intelligence echoed in her mind. "What we gave you, we can take back."
Before he could say another word, a lightning bolt shot across the room, knocking Yon-Rogg off his feet. "And here I thought I was invisible to you all!" Thor shouted, drawing all eyes. "Come on, show me what you're made of!"
As the Kree soldiers focused on him, pieces of shimmering armor materialized from thin air, snapping into place on Thor's arms and chest. A thick, black breastplate completed the set, making him look even more imposing.
"Let get this party started!" Thor roared, raising Mjolnir high. With a fierce swing, he summoned a black tornado infused with lightning, death, and fury, raging like a god descended from the heavens.
Bron-Char, the bearded member of Starforce, charged forward, his fists raised. But he was swiftly sucked into the storm, tossed several hundred meters, and crashed down hard, unable to rise.
Yon-Rogg raised his hand, signaling for more Kree soldiers to advance, as the Starforce prepared to engage their formidable foe.
