The Fall into Mt. Ebott
The chaotic energy of the disruption threw the siblings into the abyss, the chasm yawning open beneath their feet. Their forms spiraled downward, the light from the breach above growing smaller until it disappeared completely. Instead of crashing into an endless void, the siblings found themselves falling through a dimly lit tunnel of rock and stone, illuminated faintly by glowing moss and cascading light from unseen cracks.
The Descent
Kaeltherion's voice echoed as he tried to orient himself mid-fall.
Kaeltherion: "Form thy wings, brace for impact!"
Velthara snarled, her devices sparking as she tried to stabilize.
Velthara: "Wings? What wings, genius? This isn't our domain!"
Lymtherion glared at her mid-air.
Lymtherion: "Cease thy bickering and prepare! We shan't perish here, not by such simple means!"
Zalthirion chuckled softly, despite the chaos.
Zalthirion: "Falling into the depths of an unknown realm... truly, a tale worthy of song, isn't it?"
Lyvthera snapped at him.
Lyvthera: "Focus, Zalthirion, or I'll make you a tale worth forgetting!"
Aevtheria clung tightly to Xavtherion as the two spun uncontrollably, their golden wings flickering weakly in the unfamiliar gravity.
Aevtheria: "Xav... hold on! I think we're close to the bottom!"
The Impact
The siblings hit the cavern floor in a series of heavy crashes, sending echoes throughout the underground. The landing was rough but not lethal, their enhanced forms absorbing the brunt of the impact. Dust and small rocks rained down as the siblings groaned and staggered to their feet.
Kaeltherion rose first, shaking debris from his armor and quickly scanning the area.
Kaeltherion: "Sound off! Are we all present and whole?"
Velthara pushed herself up, glaring as she brushed dirt from her equipment.
Velthara: "Whole, but irritated. What in the multiverse just happened?"
Lymtherion stood next, his expression calm but alert.
Lymtherion: "The energy signature... it was no random breach. Something targeted us. Deliberately."
Zalthirion, ever composed, adjusted his posture and scanned the cavern with sharp eyes.
Zalthirion: "Indeed. And what a peculiar setting we've landed in... Look at these walls. This is no ordinary place."
Lyvthera growled softly, inspecting the glowing moss and crystalline fragments.
Lyvthera: "No ordinary place, no ordinary fall... So where in all creation are we?"
Aevtheria and Xavtherion were the last to rise, helping each other stand. Aevtheria's voice was quiet but shaken.
Aevtheria: "It feels... strange here. Heavy. Like the air itself is alive."
Xavtherion nodded, his expression wary.
Xavtherion: "And... we're not alone. Something's watching us."
The Cavern Below Mt. Ebott
As the dust settled, the siblings took in their surroundings. The cavern was vast, its walls carved with flowing, almost organic patterns. The glow of bioluminescent moss cast an eerie green light, creating long shadows that danced across the jagged terrain. Crystals jutted from the floor and ceiling, pulsing faintly as if resonating with the siblings' presence.
Kaeltherion gripped his weapon tightly, his voice steady.
Kaeltherion: "Stay alert. We are far from our domain, and this place is... unnatural."
Velthara activated a scanning device embedded in her gauntlet, frustration clear on her face.
Velthara: "No signal. Nexus is out of reach, and the readings here make no sense. It's like this entire place is... separate. Cut off."
Lymtherion ran his fingers along the wall, examining the organic carvings.
Lymtherion: "Separate, perhaps, but not abandoned. These carvings... they tell a story. Of what, I cannot yet say."
Zalthirion stepped closer to the glowing crystals, his curiosity outweighing his caution.
Zalthirion: "Fascinating. The energy here is... pure, yet contained. Almost as if the entire cavern is alive."
Lyvthera crossed her arms, her eyes scanning the shadows warily.
Lyvthera: "Alive or not, this place feels like a trap. We need to find an exit. Quickly."
Kaeltherion nodded, his golden eyes narrowing as he took charge.
Kaeltherion: "Agreed. Form up. We move together. This realm may hold secrets, but survival comes first."
As the siblings began to explore the cavern, faint whispers echoed through the air, as if the walls themselves were speaking. The deeper they ventured, the stronger the presence grew, until they reached a large, circular chamber at the heart of the cavern.
The Arrival at the Ruins Entrance
At the chamber's center stood a massive stone door, etched with symbols that pulsed faintly in time with the siblings' heartbeats. The door loomed, its presence commanding, as if it were the gateway to something ancient and powerful.
Aevtheria shivered, stepping closer to Xavtherion.
Aevtheria: "This... This feels wrong. Like something is waiting for us on the other side."
Kaeltherion stepped forward, examining the door's intricate carvings.
Kaeltherion: "Whatever lies beyond this gate... it called us here. We cannot turn back now."
Velthara smirked, her earlier frustration giving way to determination.
Velthara: "Then let's see what secrets this place holds. After all, we're not just anyone. We're the children of A'malther."
Kaeltherion placed a hand on the door, his golden aura intensifying. As the siblings prepared to face whatever lay beyond, the faint sound of distant laughter echoed through the cavern—a sound both welcoming and foreboding.
