Chapter 563 - Chapter 563: Arriving in Wakanda

After leaving the town of Mutants, Shin found Tony Stark. Since Tony Stark didn't have a small-sized suit of that caliber available on short notice, he simply told them to take a fighter jet to find the X-Men.

In fact, Tony Stark thought they were making a fuss over nothing; no one was going to make a move on them in such a short time. Why not just take a plane there? If you think it's slow, you can just push the plane yourself.

However, Tony Stark was quite keen on building an Iron Man suit for Leech. Just think about it: Leech possessed a ten-meter magic-nullification field. If that were combined with an Iron Man suit—or if he were to specifically develop it further, using technology to catalyze Leech's magic-nullification field—wouldn't that be a massive weapon for dealing with superpowered individuals?

Tony's "massive weapon" and such could be put on the back burner for now. The first thing Shin needed to do was use his Super Vision to scan the globe and compare it with the photo he had in hand to see if he could find Dr. Nemesis.

Surprisingly, he actually found the guy quite easily. It seemed this fellow was currently working as a doctor in a hospital, but in reality, that was just a cover; there was a small experimental base in the hospital's basement.

There seemed to be quite a few people in the base who had been dragged in for human experimentation, and their situations were generally not good. Now Shin finally understood why the town of Mutants had expelled him.

However, Shin used his Super Vision and Super Hearing to gather some intelligence. Although this Dr. Nemesis couldn't be considered a "good guy," he wasn't exactly a pure villain either. He was actually working for a government department. Of course, it was quite standard for him to abuse his power during experiments to conduct some research he personally enjoyed.

Furthermore, he had vetted these test subjects; they were basically all death row inmates, with the occasional terminally ill person on the verge of death who had consented to his therapeutic research experiments.

So, while the research he conducted was certainly shady, it wasn't exactly unforgivable.

This guy had been evolving for over 100 years. Beyond possessing a physique close to that of Captain America, his intelligence had also developed to a certain degree. While he didn't compare to those top-tier genius scientists, he was definitely far superior to the average scientist.

If he were allowed to keep evolving like this for another 100 years, he might be able to stand on par with figures like Tony Stark and Mr. Fantastic Richard. At that point, he might actually be able to use his scientific research to feedback into his x-gene and skyrocket in power.

It's a pity; if this guy had been from the same era as Apocalypse, he probably would have already become a big shot on Earth, killing whomever he pleased.

As for now? Wait another 100 years for him to evolve? Who knows how many times the Earth would have been reset by then! Shin was highly skeptical about whether this guy would even still be around!

Dr. Nemesis could be considered born at the wrong time, but one couldn't deny that his self-evolution was a truly monstrous ability. While it certainly couldn't compare to the mutant abilities of the X-Men at the start, as long as he was given enough time, he could definitely surpass the average Omega Mutant.

This ability was of immense help to Shin. The x-gene inside Shin's body wasn't like the x-genes of other Mutants that held the possibility of evolution; because it was merely attached to his own genetic chain, it originally had no potential for further development.

But if its inherent function was self-evolution, then both his kryptonian bloodline and his own x-gene could be treated as a single entity and continue to evolve.

The process of obtaining Dr. Nemesis's genes was extremely simple. With Shin's ultra-high speed, even though Dr. Nemesis's neural reflex speed far exceeded that of an ordinary person, he still only felt a slight numbness in his body before Shin had already taken a sample of his genetic tissue.

After transforming his x-gene into self-evolution, Shin could feel the strength that had been increasing minutely at every moment suddenly surge forward in a very short time, as if it had been equipped with an accelerator.

His original speed of progress was like riding a bicycle, but now it had turned into riding a motorcycle; it would only get faster and faster from here on out. Furthermore, the original flaws regarding kryptonite and red suns were also slowly being remedied.

Moreover, self-evolution was a passive ability—in other words, it was an ability that allowed one to get stronger just by lying down; there was absolutely no need to do any training. The only drawback was that the speed of progress was a bit slow, though if one were to do more training, it could make the speed of evolution even faster.

...

Wakanda.

As soon as Shin and Wanda arrived in Wakanda, they were immediately welcomed.

The current Wakanda had almost become the base camp for Mutants. As time passed, there were nearly tens of thousands of Mutants throughout Wakanda.

This was not a small number. Looking at the whole world, it was unknown if the number of Mutants even reached 5 million. Furthermore, many countries did not hold a discriminatory attitude toward Mutants, and some Mutants were hidden within human society and had not been discovered. This basically cut off about 3 million Mutants.

The number of Mutants who were truly in a state of displacement was at most around 1 million, and the vast majority of them were living on the streets. Those who could actually make it to Wakanda were, in reality, just these few tens of thousands.

The Mutants who could come to Wakanda all possessed some degree of ability. Those who were incompetent or too weak—let alone not receiving the news—even if they had received the news, they probably wouldn't have been able to make it here.

Plus, after Rogue absorbed Apocalypse's power, she was constantly developing abilities for this group of Mutants, so the combat power of these Mutants could be considered quite good. The only exception was Apocalypse, who looked like a dried-up husk because he was constantly having his abilities absorbed by Rogue.

When Shin arrived in Wakanda, he could clearly feel that the strength of this group of Mutants had improved significantly.

Not to mention others, just take Magneto; he was already shrouded in a powerful magnetic field that acted almost like an energy shield—a level that the Magneto in the movies could never achieve.

And Professor X no longer needed anyone to push his chair for him. Now, because his psychic power was so immense, he had developed an ability akin to telekinesis, allowing him to use an invisible hand of psychic energy to push his own wheelchair directly.

This wasn't telekinesis generated by an x-gene like that of Jean Grey, but rather telekinesis produced because his psychic power was so overwhelming that it affected reality. In other words, even without an x-gene, relying on this massive psychic power, Professor X could still possess the ability of telekinesis.

Of course, if one had to say who had improved the most, it was probably Rogue. This girl now possessed vitality almost like that of Wolverine, all of which she had obtained by frequently absorbing Apocalypse or other animals.
