Chapter 546 - Chapter 546: Defense of the Planet

"That's really unlucky," Tony Stark complained, but he didn't make any other moves. He sought out Shin precisely because he wanted Shin to be a safeguard.

Although Tony Stark believed that with the power Shin displayed during the last Tesseract explosion, dealing with these aliens probably wouldn't be difficult, he still didn't want Shin to help them with everything.

His own pride was one reason, but more importantly, he also wasn't comfortable entrusting the safety of the entire Earth to one person.

Given his thoughtful, overthinking, and suspicious nature, it's not entirely without reason that he became the director of the current Sword Bureau.

People like Batman and Nick Fury, when they see their teammates as strong as gods, their first reaction isn't that they can be carried to victory. Instead, they think, 'This guy is so powerful, what if he becomes my enemy?'

Tony Stark's persecution complex wasn't as severe, and his trust in his teammates was a bit higher, but he certainly wasn't without reservations. He often overthought things, which was evident from the constant production of various anti-this and anti-that armors.

Using the teleportation gate, several superheroes rushed into the center of the new mothership, while Shin completely unleashed his biological field and Armament Haki, enveloping the spaceship he was on.

The spaceship, which had been on the verge of collapse under the Chitauri attack, quickly stabilized after being covered in a pitch-black layer of Armament Haki. It remained unmoving regardless of the attacks, while inside the mothership, the superheroes caused chaos.

About ten minutes later, Shin, who had been protecting the warship with Armament Haki and his biological magnetic field while observing the battlefield with his super vision, extended a hand and activated the Reverse Summoning Jutsu, summoning back the superheroes who had already destroyed the core and main computer of one spaceship.

After waiting a moment longer, he extended his hand again and summoned back Scarlet Witch, who had independently taken down another warship.

This team was much smaller than the one that fought Galactus. Besides Scarlet Witch, there were no other transcendent-level powerhouses.

Dr. Banner wasn't present. Captain Marvel was still in space, and Jean Grey was also absent. The combined combat power of the other superheroes probably couldn't even match Scarlet Witch, let alone the enhanced Scarlet Witch.

The only one who surprised Shin was Tony Stark. This guy's combat power had improved significantly. Now, even in a one-on-one fight with a normal Hulk, he could probably gain an advantage.

However, upon closer inspection, Iron Man's armor relied entirely on technology. Over the past year, Iron Man had absorbed a lot of alien technology, Galactus's technology, and even some alien black technology collected by S.H.I.E.L.D. His Iron Man suits had undergone countless upgrades, so it was only normal for his strength to increase.

After a battle, Scarlet Witch didn't even seem to have broken a sweat. Tony Stark's nano-suit was undamaged. Red Hulk was breathing a bit heavily, but being thick-skinned and having strong regenerative abilities, he seemed fine.

The Fantastic Four, however, were truly exhausted. The Thing was relatively okay, but the other three were completely worn out, especially Reed. His rubber ability was a legitimate rubber ability, not like a certain straw hat boy whose power was named 'Paramecia' but was actually a 'Mythical Zoan' ability, nor did he have the divine technique of 'gears'.

Ultimately, Mr. Fantastic Reed might be an outstanding scientist, but he was by no means an outstanding warrior.

But now was clearly not the time to rest. They had only taken down four motherships; there were still eight more intact.

Shin then drew a circle, and the others could only continue to rush in and fight. Scarlet Witch didn't even need Shin to teleport her; she could use her Chaos Magic to travel to other warships on her own.

After another ten minutes of intense fighting, Shin, who had been observing the battlefield with his super vision, shook his head and first summoned the Fantastic Four back. After a while, Scarlet Witch returned on her own. After another period, Shin finally used the Reverse Summoning Jutsu to bring the other two back.

This time, the Fantastic Four were completely out of combat power. Iron Man and Red Hulk were still in good shape, but they probably couldn't push on anymore. But the most important thing was that the Chitauri warships had already started heading towards Earth.

Shin could still pinpoint stationary warships with his teleportation ability, but he couldn't pinpoint moving warships. Warships that could navigate in space either used spatial jumps or traveled at superluminal speeds. Relatively speaking, superluminal flight required higher technological sophistication.

The Chitauri clearly couldn't do this. Otherwise, if they just sent a small spaceship at light speed to crash into Earth, that would be a definite planet-destroying weapon. How could they still be evenly matched with Earth's technological weapons?

However, even the slowest spaceship capable of interstellar travel would have to be dozens or hundreds of times the speed of sound. Otherwise, even with spatial jump capabilities, flying around within a single star system would take three to five years. Shin couldn't pinpoint at such speeds; it would be comical if he accidentally threw people into the vacuum of space.

"The enemy has started moving. What should we do?" Mr. Fantastic Reed, who had recovered slightly, looked at Shin and quickly asked.

At this moment, everyone else's gaze also turned to him. Just by seeing Shin envelop the entire spaceship with Armament Haki, allowing it to withstand all Chitauri attacks without any damage, plus his ability to open teleportation gates and pull people back directly in dangerous situations, they knew his strength had definitely improved since before.

Just now, the Fantastic Four were summoned back by Shin at the critical moment when they had almost no ability to resist and were about to lose their lives.

Mr. Fantastic didn't think any of this was a coincidence. Spatial teleportation, powerful defensive capabilities, and perception, combined with the terrifying combat power Shin had displayed in previous battles, clearly indicated that he was the ultimate safeguard in this fight.

Shin shook his head, "Apparently, these guys have figured out our weakness. They're preparing to go straight for the jugular. We can only follow them back and protect Earth first."

In this battle, Shin had decided not to intervene directly if he could avoid it. Anyway, judging by the Chitauri's performance, even if they were stronger than in the movie, their strength was limited.

He was quite curious to see how many ability users were currently lurking on Earth.
