In truth, Diana also had a weakness her Lasso of Truth worked on herself as well. However, because the Justice League was still newly established, Batman clearly didn't know this information.
Aquaman, on the other hand, had been staying deep in the ocean during this entire period and only emerged after the crisis broke out, allowing him to avoid the initial wave entirely.
As for Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and Shazam, they were all relatively new additions to the team, and Batman hadn't had time to develop contingency plans for them yet.
In that sense, the Justice League avoiding total annihilation this time around was something of a fortunate accident.
Otherwise, they might have become the laughingstock of the world, relying on their own 'fan club' to come to save them.
Shin's question about Captain Cold, Luthor, and the Joker was not asked without reason. Among everyone gathered, only those three could truly be called strategic minds.
Luthor furrowed his brows. "Besides Brainiac, I also developed a specialized suit of armor designed to fight Superman. It never reached the performance standards I wanted, but in this situation, it'll do. My suggestion is to unleash the newly created artificial intelligence Brainiac to attack and dismantle the Brother Eye satellite."
"No, you've got the wrong target," the Joker cut in, narrowing his eyes.
"The satellite isn't the core issue. The real problem is Grid. With the nanotech network tied to the Brother Eye system, I'd wager that at least ten satellites have already been converted into Brother Eye units. Destroying one won't make a dent."
"Then let's rescue Superman first," Luthor insisted. "With his speed, it'll only take him ten minutes to scan and track every satellite on Earth."
"Don't forget the kryptonite," Captain Cold said, scratching his head. "There's no way Brother Eye hasn't rigged the satellites with kryptonite defenses. Superman would get ambushed before he even started."
"Maybe we should rescue the Bat first," the Joker offered, grinning. "You know how he is, paranoid to the bone. He probably already devised a kill switch for Brother Eye. We just have to find it."
"The virus that might work against Brother Eye is unlikely to affect Grid," Captain Cold argued. "Grid's a high-level AI, not some dumb protocol like Brother Eye."
Even though the Joker and Luthor had come to help, it was obvious their top priorities were still rescuing Batman and Superman. Their proposed plans all revolved around freeing those two, which led to a deadlock nobody could agree on a clear course of action.
Off to the side, Shin spoke quietly with Wanda and the Ancient One.
"This place is getting dangerous," he said. "The abilities of both Wanda and the Ancient One have dropped significantly in this world. Maybe you two should head back."
The Ancient One laughed and stroked his white beard. "This, my friend, is the true essence of adventuring across worlds. I haven't felt this thrill in decades."
Wanda shook her head calmly. "We've gone up against beings like Galactus. A few robots aren't going to scare us."
Shin nodded slightly. He hadn't been all that concerned either. This wasn't some multiversal-level threat like Amazo or the Dark Knights: Metal invasion. These Brother Eye units, while a nuisance, weren't dangerous enough to make him flinch.
In fact, he had already thought of multiple solutions.
For instance, if they could pinpoint the satellites' coordinates, the Ancient One could simply open portals and snipe them out of orbit with magical attacks.
Alternatively, with the consciousness-uploading technology in Shin's possession, he could create an AI just as powerful as Grid if not more so. Definitely better than the rudimentary Brainiac Luthor had just coded.
Of course, there was also the direct option, Shin could simply fight them head-on. His combat power wasn't much weaker than Superman's. If he let loose, those robots wouldn't stand a chance.
The issue was that all the Brother Eye robots (OMACs) had originally been ordinary humans transformed into machines. That ethical dilemma paralyzed most of the base's occupants.
The Justice League, naturally, was reluctant to kill. Even morally gray characters like Luthor or Captain Cold weren't ready to commit wholesale slaughter.
The Joker might not have cared if it had been his usual chaotic self but this version of the Joker was surprisingly restrained, the 'kind' version. That explained why everyone was still hiding out in the base rather than launching a full assault.
After hearing Wanda and the Ancient One reaffirm their resolve, Shin dropped the subject. This level of danger didn't rattle them.
Meanwhile, the Justice League's discussion remained deadlocked. The problem with gathering too many smart people was that each had their own ideas and personal agendas.
Seeing that the debate was going nowhere, Diana slammed her bracer against her shield with a sharp clang.
"Enough," she said coldly. "The priority right now is rescuing the civilians who've been turned into Brother Eye drones. We'll worry about those two blockheads later!"
Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Green Lantern all visibly winced. Even Luthor and Captain Cold seemed slightly intimidated.
In the current League, despite being a woman, Wonder Woman has become the most reliable and respected member.
Batman was undoubtedly clever, but his raw power was too low. Every time a new enemy appeared, he'd get knocked out before he had time to formulate a strategy.
Superman, for all his might, was constantly sabotaged by his own sense of morality.
Only Diana combined power, decisiveness, and reliability. She might not have been the smartest, but she was more ruthless than Superman and more straightforward than Batman. And with the arsenal of divine artifacts she carried, she could usually outlast most enemies.
Most importantly, Wonder Woman could and would kill.
She'd fought in two world wars, cut down countless enemies, and never hesitated when life was on the line. While she had softened somewhat over time, especially after joining the League, she had never fully renounced lethal force.
That made her terrifying in the eyes of villains.
If you angered Superman or the Flash, you might get tossed into prison. If you pissed off Batman, you'd wake up in the ICU. But if you pushed Wonder Woman too far she'd send you straight to the Underworld.
Not just the villains, even her teammates felt the pressure when she got serious. So the moment she spoke, everyone in the room fell silent.
