Lucina groggily opened her eyes, the wound on her side was still throbbing with pain as she frowned and crawled out of bed, the sunlight outside the window quite blinding.

She tried calling out, but no one responded, so she grabbed her clothes from a small stool beside her, hastily put them on, and got out of bed.
She walked down the steps barefoot, the creaky noise echoing in the quiet house, which was empty. Pushing open Diana's bedroom door, she found the bed unoccupied, a bad feeling twirling in her mind.
She was indeed a stranger in a strange land here, 1888 was not her home, and an unprecedented sense of nervousness gnawed at her patience like little bugs.
