Chapter 373 - Gabriel's Rebelliousness

Nighttime, and as usual, Gabriel was staying up late playing games.

Despite her current routine of rushing to Shin's house in the morning to work as a maid—handling tasks like preparing breakfast and newly added duties such as taking care of Kanna and Illya—the truth was, after finishing her morning maid work, she would immediately doze off in class once she got to school.

Not every teacher was as responsible as Hiratsuka Shizuka. Gabriel's teachers had no way to deal with this problem student who started sleeping the moment she stepped into school.

If it were Hiratsuka, she would've at least thrown Gabriel into the Service Club to reform her properly—but at Gabriel's school, the teachers could only let her be.

Of course, today was Saturday, and she didn't have school tomorrow either. So after finishing her maid duties at Shin's place tomorrow morning, she'd have the whole day to relax at home.

But just as she was happily dominating the game with the high-tier equipment she'd obtained by selling the Horn of Doom, her phone suddenly rang.

"Huh? Who's calling me this late?"

Gabriel paused. Normally, she'd ignore the call and keep immersing herself in the game.

But now that she was Shin's maid, she was a bit worried it might be him calling for something important. So she took a moment to glance at the screen.

The caller ID clearly displayed "Satania."

Instantly, all her tension dissipated.

She ignored the ringing and continued clearing the dungeon with her teammates. It wasn't until over ten minutes later, after finishing the dungeon, that she finally picked up her phone.

By then, Satania's missed calls had piled up to 11—almost one per minute—all ignored by Gabriel.

Now that the dungeon was done, Gabriel finally called back. Satania answered instantly.

"Gabriel! Why didn't you answer my calls earlier?! You were definitely awake, right?!"

Satania saw herself as Gabriel's rival, so she was particularly sensitive to Gabriel's attitude.

From fellow demon Vignette, Satania knew Gabriel was definitely gaming late at night instead of sleeping.

"Ugh, whatever. It's not like you'd have anything important to say anyway."

Facing Satania, Gabriel's voice lost all energy. She responded lazily.

If there was anyone whose calls she'd care about right now, it'd only be Heaven, Vignette, or Shin. Everyone else could wait until she had time to call back.

"Just spit it out already. I'm busy."

"Geez, you're nothing like how a rival should act!"

Satania's voice carried a purity untainted by knowledge. But this time, she wasn't calling to pick a fight, so after a few grumbles, she cut to the chase.

"Do you have that human Shin's contact info?"

Hearing Shin's name, Gabriel immediately perked up. She rolled over and sat up from her futon, curiosity piqued.

"Shin? Why do you want his number?"

Gabriel didn't find it strange that Satania knew about Shin—his name had come up at school before.

Not just Satania, but even their angel classmate Raphael likely knew of Shin's existence.

However, she didn't know Satania had already met Shin once. So hearing her ask for his contact info naturally made Gabriel both curious and wary.

"That's none of your business! As a great demon, I have matters to discuss with that human!"

For some reason, Satania's tone carried a hint of panic, as if she was hiding something embarrassing.

Something like trading her first kiss—that was way too intense for Satania. Just thinking about it made her blush.

And the reason she wanted Shin's contact info was to discuss that magical compound—which directly conflicted with Gabriel's goals. Naturally, she couldn't let Gabriel know.

Of course, Satania had no idea that the magical compound had already been retrieved by Gabriel and sent back to Heaven.

"...Huh?"

For once, the usually careless Gabriel picked up on something—Satania's nervousness.

This immediately put her on guard. She recalled how the girls at Shin's place acted the same way when they had feelings for him.

In an instant, a bizarre thought popped into Gabriel's mind.

Is this idiot… actually crushing on someone? But since she never interacts with guys, she's fixating on Shin?

"Hello? Gabriel? You still there?"

Hearing no response for a while, Satania wondered if Gabriel had fallen asleep mid-call.

But soon, she received Gabriel's oddly firm reply:

"Yeah, I'm here. But I'm not giving you Shin's number."

"Wha—?!"

Satania froze, completely caught off guard by Gabriel's blunt refusal.

Before she could even react, the call abruptly ended with a click.

"What the—?! Why'd she hang up?!"

Staring blankly at the "Call Ended" screen, Satania was utterly baffled.

---

Meanwhile, Shin remained unaware that Gabriel had refused to share his contact info with Satania.

He had just finished dealing with the girls sprawled across his bed and was now lying down, basking in the afterglow.

Though Shin's stamina had skyrocketed alongside his combat power, his desires hadn't changed—a few rounds were enough to satisfy him.

Thankfully, his libido hadn't scaled with his physical abilities—otherwise, he'd never get anything else done.

"Alright, time to finally deal with Frieza tonight."

Closing his eyes, Shin slipped into the dream world. Now that he knew his true combat power exceeded 30 million, his confidence was at an all-time high.

Even without turning Super Saiyan, crushing Frieza was well within his reach.

With Berserker state and Saint's Numeral, his power already surpassed Frieza's full strength, not to mention the other abilities stacked on "Blackbird Requiem."

Honestly, deciding what to wear for his date with Eriri tomorrow was more stressful than fighting Frieza.
