Chapter 12 - Eye catcher.

(A child points at mars.)

And so does Keiaru, pointing at the gem on the golden crown of scales on the fish's head "There! it's that shiny red spot right?" The barrier continued to protect her from the crashing waves and the debris inside.

Renzo dropped inside the barrier, tying the last knot to the massive rope he made. He kneeled next to her to pat her shoulder "Good, amazing! You can finally see into the spirit world!"

"The.. spirit world!?" She began to touch her face, feeling for the still present warmth. She was alive.

Renzo reached into his pocket, pulling out a purifying stone. "I'll explain later, but right now take this." he shoved it into Keiaru's hands before tugging the rope tightly. he turned to Keiaru again, "Can I trust you to hold that stone on the red scale?"

"Of course!" her confidence was present in her tone but the way the fish thrashed above the water that was strangely deep enough for it to move in, did little to sell her claim as believable.

Renzo stood up walking to the edge of the barrier, "Okay, make sure to hold it there as a drag the fish to land!" he then leapt to the sidelines, hopping rock to rock to stay above the waves.

Keiaru stayed for a moment, looking at the waves, the deep water, that violent kaiju. She took a deep breath silencing the sounds around her. "It's just water... I drink water everyday! I can do this!" With a nod of her head, she leapt, making it to the top of the tree and skipping over to the ruined houses as she approached the mass of mindless destruction.

Deeper in the forest, the complementing fury is targeted toward Fujima. Hanzo searches for him, looking behind every tree and in the canopy itself. Fujima 'lost' his spear and was taught by the man who hunts him, so he had the little advantage his net gave him. But Hanzo was relentless, without time to think more, the branch Fujima clung to was cut from beneath him. Fujima fell to his back, before Hanzo who pointed the fishing spear at Fujima who says "You could warn me..."

Hanzo drew the spear back, "You could just come peacefully!" he then thrust it toward Fujima but the surprisingly nimble fisherman rolled to safety, tripping Hanzo along the way. Which frustrated him "You little!" his palms slammed to the ground before he pushed himself up immediately chasing Fujima as he stood up.

Fujima vanishes behind another tree, and the moment Hanzo looks behind it, he has to duck under the weights of the net. He wasn't safe yet, the net unfurled above him due to Fujima tugging the remaining weight back. Yet Hanzo manages to escape, Wedging the tip of his spear into the tree so it would catch the net. But now he is unarmed and his spear is tossed deeper into the forest.

Fujima goes for another attack, whipping the weight's of his net to the bottom of Hanzo's chin. But Hanzo catches it, reeling Fujima in and punching him in the gut. Hanzo goes for another but it is blocked, and countered, but he weaves past it and punches Fujima twice in the face with his free arm, then back hands him. Fujima isn't even allowed to fall as Hanzo pulls him back up to wail on him more.

Back with Keiaru, she stood at the top the frame of a ruined house. Renzo stood on a stone that was anchored into the ground just high enough above the water. He then used a large purifying stone to ty at the end of his long rope. He tossed the stone end of the rope forward, then reeled it back starting a slow spin that spread over two buildings in length. The rotation got faster, its weight whistling in the wind till it sounded like a propeller, then Renzo swung it into the side of the fish the stone wrapping around it's body and pressing onto the fish's scales.

The stone shined, glaring for Keiaru where she stood. It began drawing out a black, flame like essence, that spread across the rope. When Renzo shut his eyes, a green flame spread from his hands along the rope connecting with the black flame. The connection made a dull, muffled *ding* before there was a moment of strange, serene calmness. The fish stopped all movement, the water calmed, but Hanzo was struggling, sweating bullets. "Keiaru the stone! use it!" he shouted within a pained grunt. "Hurry..." The black flame began to pile upon the green flame, slowly pushing it back.

Keiaru saw this, rushing to the undamaged half of the dock. Now she had to scale the fish, she leapt off the dock, taking a log with her. As she began to fall closer to the water, she tossed the log and used it as a stepping stone to leap from the dock to the spiny dorsal fin of the fish using one of the spines to launch herself to the head. The air slowly fell heavier the longer she took, causing her to fumble with the stone in her hands but she caught it, slamming it onto the red gem in the fish's head.

A singular ripple flowed through the still water, silence closing in. Nothing happened, but the weight in the air vanished, then dried. It was an instant of pure, unnatural power, an explosion of silver lightning with enough power to put a crater in the water below. Winding strands of lightning spread across the air, collapsing onto the fish's massive frame like a snake.

In the center of all the instant destruction, Keiaru's hand was bound on top of the scale and the stone by the lightning strings. A pink soothing light pulsed, a good sign in this situation. The black flames receded, the kaiju's body dropping forward as Renzo tugged. "Just hold the stone on that gem!"

The crashing sound of the fish's toppling echoed through the forest, distracting Hanzo mid swing. The net was hung in the tree behind him and Fujima was being held by the collar, barely standing. Hanzo looked toward the direction of the dock, the silence notable, "Did they... but how?" In his moment of distraction, Fujima stirred up enough energy to lunge at him yet was stopped with a hand. "I made you a choose last time... but you need to come back with us."

"...As if... you can take me..." Fujima feinted with his broken arm and went for a right hook. But Hanzo blocked it and jabbed him on the forehead knocking Fujima out.

Hanzo raised a fist into the air, a blue light emanating from it "Well, I guess I can."

Over with Keiaru and Renzo, they managed to drag the fish halfway out of the water when a similar blue light shined through it's body. The light then traveled down to the tail and into the water, creating a glowing vortex. Keiaru looked at it, watching tendrils of water snake along the fish and grasp it. "Is this supposed to happen?" Before Renzo could answer, the Fish was lifted into the air so harshly Keiaru fell off. It was dropped into the endless vortex, it's full frame vanishing under the river along with the vortex.
