Although Oliver Queen knew who the man in front of him was, since they were going to fight, he decided to give it his all! With a low roar, Oliver Queen charged forward, his movements swift and precise.
Michael held a cup of coffee in one hand and casually blocked Oliver's attack with the other.
He refrained from using any of his abilities. After all, while Oliver Queen was skilled, he was still just an ordinary person. Using powers would be overkill. Besides, Michael's purpose was to improve his own close combat skills.
Oliver Queen's attacks were sharp, quick, and highly tactical—a masterclass in hand-to-hand combat. Michael's physical fitness and reflexes were superior, but he quickly found himself overwhelmed by Oliver's experience and technique. It felt like he was about to lose after just a few exchanges.
This surprised Michael.
'So, this is what real close combat feels like.' He thought, exhilarated.
Bang!
Michael and Oliver Queen clashed again, their fists colliding. Michael stood firm, unmoving, while Oliver stumbled backward, his hand throbbing in pain. Shocked, Oliver flexed his fingers to shake off the sting, staring at Michael in disbelief.
Michael slowly placed his coffee cup down, then turned back with a grin. "Come on. Let's go again!"
Bang!
Smack!
They exchanged blows again, this time with more intensity. Michael tried taking the offensive, but Oliver, more experienced, skillfully countered each attempt.
Michael's excitement grew as the fight went on. Abandoning all defense, he switched to a wild, reckless fighting style—trading blows without care. His resilience began to show, as Oliver's strikes were starting to falter under the onslaught.
"Enough! Stop!" Michael suddenly called out.
But Oliver, now fully in the zone, ignored him and charged forward again.
Michael shook his head and raised his hand. A shimmering green energy field appeared around Oliver, forming a transparent cell. Oliver ran straight into it and rebounded, stunned.
He punched the barrier repeatedly, but it held firm.
Michael retrieved his coffee, conjuring a large, comfortable sofa beneath him as he sat. Crossing his legs and sipping his coffee, he watched Oliver struggle.
After a moment, Oliver stopped, panting.
"Calmed down now? Good. Then listen to me," Michael said smoothly. "My name is Michael, and I'm from XXX City. If you've been keeping up with the news, you've probably heard the name…" He smirked.
"Green Lantern?" Oliver interrupted.
"Ah, so you've heard of me. Saves me some explanation. I came here to meet you—no other reason. And now that I have, it was worth the trip. You've got things to take care of, so when you're ready, come find me. I'm sure you'll figure out how."
The green cell dissolved in an instant, and before Oliver could process what was happening, Michael disappeared entirely.
"Green Lantern, Michael…" Oliver muttered. Then he quickly turned and headed home. His best friend, Tommy, was still waiting for him, and there were plenty of questions to answer.
When the police inevitably showed up to investigate the kidnapping, Oliver needed an alibi. While he had planned to claim a mysterious hooded figure rescued them, a new idea struck him.
"Green Lantern." He murmured. A ready-made shield.
While Oliver handled the aftermath of his rescue, Michael returned to his hotel, where Carol had just finished a shower. Wrapped in a towel, she was lounging on the couch, flipping through the news. Ever since learning her boyfriend was the Green Lantern, Carol had been obsessed with superhero reports. She loved comparing them to Michael and, in her mind, no one came close.
"You're back already?" Carol asked, startled by his sudden arrival.
Michael nodded, his eyes lingering on her. Her damp hair and towel-clad figure were far more captivating than the news. "Yeah. I just went to say hello. He'll come find me later."
"Who is he? Another hero? Does he have powers?" She asked, standing up and sauntering toward him with a playful grin.
Before she could get closer, Michael closed the gap, pulling her into a tight embrace.
"Later." He whispered, "Right now… don't you think we have something more important to do?"
"Anything you want." Carol replied coyly, looking up at him.

The next morning, as Oliver Queen prepared to visit Michael, his mother, worried for his safety after the kidnapping, insisted he take a bodyguard with him. Reluctantly, Oliver agreed, though he had no intention of keeping him around.
After exchanging pleasantries with his new bodyguard, John Diggle, Oliver disappeared from the moving car without a sound, leaving Diggle stunned.
Free of his tail, Oliver headed straight for Michael's hotel. He had done his research and wanted answers. How did Michael know his secret? What did he really want?
Arriving at the door, Oliver knocked firmly.
A moment later, the door opened.
Oliver blinked, surprised to see a beautiful woman—not Michael—standing there.
"You must be Oliver Queen." Carol said with a teasing smile, "The billionaire who came back from the dead? I never imagined he meant you!"
"He?"
"Michael, of course. You're here to see him, right?"
"Yes."
"Come in." Carol stepped aside to let him in, "He's in the shower. Have a seat."
Oliver hesitated briefly before stepping inside, "Thank you. By the way, who are you?"
"I'm Carol, his girlfriend." She said casually.
Oliver nodded, still assessing her. She seemed like an ordinary person—not the kind of person he expected to be involved with someone like Michael.
Before long, Michael emerged, greeting Oliver with a smile as he sat down opposite him.
"So, what do you want?" Oliver asked directly.
Michael chuckled, "Patience, Oliver. You were shipwrecked five years ago, presumed dead, but you survived. On that island, you acquired incredible skills. Now, you've returned to save your city and atone for your father's sins. Am I wrong?"
Oliver's silence confirmed Michael's words.
"Good. Now let me tell you about me." Michael continued, "You know I'm Green Lantern, but that's just one part of my story. The universe is vast—far bigger than this world. I'm part of the Green Lantern Corps, protectors of Sector 2814, which includes Earth. I have many responsibilities, and I can't always be here. That's why I came to you."
"Me?"
"Yes, Green Arrow." Michael said with a smirk, "Star City is your responsibility, and I wanted to see for myself what kind of hero you are. Think of it as an introduction… and an inspection."
