However, the Red Devil reacted quickly. He disappeared instantly as soon as he flew out, then reappeared from the side.
"Lie down!"
As soon as the Red Devil appeared, a massive hammer materialized above his head and smashed down directly.
With a loud bang, the Red Devil was slammed to the ground, and the hammer instantly transformed into a cage, trapping him. The Red Devil kept teleporting but found that he couldn't escape, as if the cage had sealed all his exit points. He panicked. This was unprecedented—he had never encountered a situation where his teleportation abilities were completely nullified.
The Red Devil's teleportation worked differently from others. It was somewhat similar to Clarice's ability but had a distinct mechanism. While Clarice directly opened portals in time and space, the Red Devil first teleported into a special space—a sort of transfer station—before teleporting out to another location.
Now, he could still access the transfer station, but whenever he tried to exit, he remained trapped in the same spot. It was as if all other locations had been blocked.
Michael turned and looked at Sarah, who was about to rush forward and intervene, but Clarice beside him wasn't someone to be underestimated either. Despite not fully understanding the situation, she was prepared to act.
Using her teleportation crystal, Clarice began playing tricks on Sarah, appearing beside her, kicking her into a portal, and then teleporting elsewhere. Sarah, lacking any special abilities beyond enhanced endurance, strength, and stamina—similar to Captain America—was powerless against Clarice's speed and agility. Even her perception ability was ineffective against Clarice's rapid movements.
This was thanks to Clarice's rigorous training with Michael. Before meeting him, her powers had been far less developed.
"So, what do you think of my suggestion?" Michael asked, turning toward the White Queen.
"Good," the White Queen replied, picking up a wine glass. After taking a sip, she leaned closer and kissed him. Michael smirked as the wine flowed from her mouth into his.
"You... you can actually do mind control?"
The White Queen's expression shifted as she seemed to snap out of mental control. She took two steps back, her body instantly transforming into a glimmering diamond.
"Thank you for your hospitality; the wine was excellent," Michael said with a grin. Waving at Clarice, he opened a portal. Before stepping through, he glanced back at the hesitant and angry White Queen.
"Friendly advice—if you try controlling the people around me again, it won't end with just wine. Next time, I might devour you and your allies."
With that, Michael and Clarice disappeared through the portal.
Sarah stumbled to her feet as the cage surrounding the Red Devil vanished. The two quickly moved to the White Queen's side.
"Shall I go after them?" the Red Devil asked angrily.
"Can you bring him back?" The White Queen responded calmly. The Red Devil fell silent, unable to answer.
"I didn't expect him to have mind control abilities too. I underestimated him this time. It's clear he did this to retaliate for me controlling Clarice and to warn me," The White Queen said with a surprisingly calm tone.
Her composure puzzled the Red Devil. Michael had humiliated her, yet she wasn't angry. Despite Michael's strength, it wasn't enough to make her afraid—or so the Red Devil thought.
Even more confusing was the faint smile on the White Queen's lips, as though she were pleased.
"Keep an eye on Magneto. If he does anything against Michael, inform me immediately," The White Queen instructed.
"Yes," The Red Devil replied before leaving with Sarah.
The White Queen returned to the sofa, reverted from her diamond form, and gently touched her lips.
"Michael... I'm becoming increasingly interested in you. I want to see how far you can grow. Until then, I'll help clear some obstacles for you. Don't disappoint me!" she murmured.
Michael and Clarice reappeared in a remote location.
"BOSS, what just happened? Who were those people?" Clarice asked curiously.
"Have you heard of the Hellfire Club?" Michael asked.
Clarice nodded. "Yes, it's a mutant organization. Was that the Hellfire Club just now? Why were we there?"
"The blonde woman was the White Queen. She has telepathy and mind control abilities. After her secondary mutation, she can turn her body into diamond. The red-skinned guy is the Red Devil, whose teleportation abilities are similar to yours. The one you were dealing with is Sarah. She's a master of hand-to-hand combat and strategy but has no unique powers," Michael explained.
"As for why we were there, it's because the White Queen was keeping tabs on me. She controlled you and used you as bait to lure me in," He continued.
Clarice frowned, trying to recall. "I don't know. I went out to buy something, and then… I can't remember what happened until just now!"
"It seems she's been monitoring me for a while," Michael said thoughtfully. "She knew I came back from SHIELD, knew you went out, and used that opportunity to control you. Her actions were calculated—intended to show her strength and invite me to join Hellfire. Still, I find her approach irritating."
Michael sighed. "Let's get the groceries and head back."
The following days passed peacefully. Michael focused on building the base during the day and absorbing ether particles at night. Magneto remained quiet, the Hellfire Club made no further moves, and SHIELD issued no new missions.
However, the peace didn't last long. The system indicated a new dungeon had been refreshed.
After analyzing the timeline, Michael decided his next target would be the Green Arrow dimension. The Flash was still years away, and Oliver Queen was currently in his "dead" phase, meaning he hadn't yet returned to Star City.
From the timeline Michael analyzed, the one closest to the Green Lantern dimension should be Green Arrow. When the Flash was born, Green Arrow had already been active in Star City for a while, and from the news he saw in the Green Lantern dimension, Green Arrow, Oliver Queen, was still in a "dead" state, which meant he had not returned yet.
Therefore, the natural choice for the new mission is Green Arrow.
The reason Michael chose this dimension was primarily because of Phyllis. Additionally, the energy reward given by the mission could upgrade his system. By the way, Green Arrow's fighting ability is quite strong, while Michael considered himself weak in this aspect. So, he planned to use this opportunity to improve his skills.

[Do you want to enter?]
Michael had just set up the third mission when a prompt sounded from the system.
"Enter!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the scene around Michael changed. To be honest, he was a little curious about how the system teleported him into these dimensions. The sensation wasn't strong, but the surroundings seemed to shift in an instant.
Star City, a street corner.
Michael walked slowly along the street. Every superhero has their own territory or area of protection, such as Green Arrow's Star City, Flash's Central City, Green Lantern's Coast City, or Superman's Metropolis. Of course, there was also the tall, rich, and brooding Batman in Gotham City!
Star City wasn't particularly prosperous; it was a place with a stark divide between the rich and the poor. The wealthy lived in extreme luxury, while the poor struggled to make ends meet. Walking through the streets, Michael could easily sense the disparities in this city.
"Oliver Queen is alive..."
"Missing billionaire resurfaces."
While walking, Michael suddenly heard a TV broadcast coming from a nearby store. Turning his head, he saw a news report about Oliver Queen. It seemed that Green Arrow had just returned to Star City.
"I never thought that this bastard is still alive. He's so lucky!" Someone nearby muttered angrily before turning and walking away.
Michael shrugged. It seemed Oliver Queen wasn't particularly popular. Well, it made sense. Before becoming Green Arrow, the rich playboy had been an unapologetic dandy.
