After making sure that everyone had left, Julian slowly made his way toward the western wing.
Although this was his own castle, or rather Kraven's castle, he had rarely visited this part of the estate.
The western wing was usually reserved for important guests, especially members of the royal family and nobles of high standing. There had never been much reason for Julian to come here. It was a place kept separate from the daily life of the household, and opened only when someone important came to stay.
As he walked through its corridors, he began to appreciate just how grand the place was.
The western wing was almost like a separate castle within the estate. Its ceilings were high, its corridors wide, and its windows much larger than those in the main residence.
Fine carpets covered the floors, while expensive paintings and detailed collages decorated the walls. Even the furniture had been chosen with care.
Everything looked expensive, yet nothing felt out of place.
