Chapter 177 - Chapter 176: A day with Sabrina

Gladion stepped out of the Moonwood Gym after his daily challenges. He was relaxed and dressed in casuals.

He had pushed his thoughts of Mega Evolution to the back of his mind. He decided to figure it out later with a fresh mind. It's not like he would have used Mega evolution in a fight anyways. Collosus was overpowered without it.

And if there appeared any threat that Collosus would not be able to handle, he always had Latias and Latios to go to.

'Today is for spending some free time with Sabrina. It's been a while since we chatted. She must have a lot to chat about. And I should give her the mega stone for Alakhazam. She deserves it for helping me with her Pokemon for years to dig the stone sout and travelling with me in our journey.'

He'd promised to spend the day with her. She was his closest friend outside his family.

'She's probably itching to tell me about her latest Pokémon shenanigans,' he thought with anticipation.

He teleported to Saffron City, landing outside Sabrina's gym, where she waited.

She spotted him and launched into a hug, nearly knocking him over. "Glady!" she squealed, her voice bright. Gladion chuckled, hugging her back, his aura syncing with hers. "Sabrina, you're as lively as ever."

Nyx, released from her Poké Ball, purred and rubbed against Sabrina's leg, only to get a mock glare from her.

"Careful, Nyx, don't think you're winning our rivalry today," Sabrina teased

"Come on," he said, nodding toward the city. "Let's grab coffee and some desserts. I'm craving those chocolate éclairs."

Sabrina's eyes lit up. "Ooh, and I need my caramel latte. Let's teleport to that cute place in Celadon—they've got the best stuff." With a shared glance, they vanished, reappearing outside a cozy restaurant in Celadon City.

Inside, they settled at a corner table, Gladion with a plate of éclairs and Sabrina with her latte and a slice of berry tart.

The aroma of coffee and sugar filled the air as they dug in. Sabrina leaned forward, her eyes sparkling. "Okay, Glady, you gotta hear about my Pokémon lately. They've been a total handful."

Gladion took a bite of an éclair, his smirk encouraging. "Spill. I bet it's chaos."

Sabrina laughed, sipping her latte. "So, Slowbro's been hilarious. Last week, I'm training him by the river, trying to get his Psychic up to par. He's supposed to lift a boulder, right? Instead, he gets distracted by a shiny Magikarp and tries to 'befriend' it by splashing water everywhere. I'm soaked, the boulder's floating downstream, and Slowbro's just grinning like an idiot."

Gladion snorted, nearly choking on his éclair. "Classic Slowbro," he said. "Did you get the boulder back?" Sabrina rolled her eyes. "Eventually. Took Alakazam an hour to fish it out. Slowbro just sat there, munching on seaweed."

"Then there's Mr. Mime," Sabrina went on, her voice turning exasperated. "He and Jynx got into a fight last night because Jynx tracked mud all over the gym floor. Mr. Mime's obsessed with keeping things clean, so he starts throwing up barriers to block Jynx, who's firing Ice Beams to 'teach him a lesson.' I walk in, and it's like a warzone—ice shards everywhere, barriers glowing, and I'm stuck cleaning it up!"

Gladion laughed, "It's like you're running a daycare, not a gym," he teased.

Sabrina swatted his arm, her latte sloshing. "Don't laugh! I was scrubbing ice off the walls till midnight!"

She leaned back, grinning. "Oh, and Espeon's been a diva. I tried teaching her Shadow Ball, but she refuses to use it because it 'messes up her fur.' Can you believe that? She just sits there, grooming herself, while I'm begging her to train."

Gladion shook his head, his smirk sly. "Sounds like Nyx when I tried teaching her Iron Tail. She sulked for a week, said it was 'beneath her elegance.'"

Nyx, curled up by his chair, flicked her tail. Sabrina laughed, pointing at Nyx. "See? She's judging me right now!"

"Speaking of training," Sabrina said, her tone turning curious, "how's your team holding up after that Gyarados mess? I saw your statement on the news—calling out those corrupt League officials? Bold move, Glady."

"Had to. They were Team Rocket's puppets, trying to smear me. I've got my PR team handling the fallout, but it's a war now."

Sabrina's eyes softened,"You'll crush them. You always do. Don't hesitate to ask for my help not that you would need it."

Gladion smiled and nodded.

They finished their desserts, swapping more stories—Sabrina's Alakazam teleporting her laundry by mistake, Gladion's Zeus accidentally shocking a resort's power grid.

They paid the bill and stepped outside, the city air cool as they walked down the street. Gladion's hummed, content, until his eyes widened in alarm as two figures appeared ahead.

"It's difficult to track you two down. Psychis are a pain in the ass with their teleports." Agatha's voice grumbled, her cane tapping the ground.

Koga stood beside her, his face serious,

'Oh, great,' Gladion thought, his psychic senses picking up a dozen ninja lurking on rooftops and in alleys.

'And yet you find us. It's probably Koga's ninja corps who found us.'

'He plays cool, but he's deadlier than Agatha, maybe even Lance without his dragon clan backing him up Let's hope they're not here to kill me.' Gladion thought sarcastically

'Not that they would succeed anyways.'
