Chapter 717: Luo Tianshen, One Hundred Million Supreme Spirit Liquids
High above the continent, faint ripples of blood mist drifted through the air. Below, the vast city had fallen utterly silent, shrouded by an invisible terror.
All eyes were fixed in disbelief on the scene before them—Blood Lingzi, the mighty patriarch of the Blood God Clan, trapped helplessly in the grasp of Mo Yu's thunderous hand.
An Upper Earth Supreme, defeated and captured.
Such beings were living legends of the Great Thousand World, commanders of empires, whose slightest gesture could shake nations. Even within the most ancient families and superior clans, Lower Earth Supremes were regarded as their core powerhouses. The status of an Upper Earth Supreme went far beyond that.
And yet… Blood Lingzi, lord of one of Western Heaven's four dominions, ruler of the Blood God Clan—was now a prisoner.
The crowd collectively swallowed hard; even those Earth Supremes who had been observing in secret felt a chill of dread.
That a Lower Earth Supreme had defeated an Upper Earth Supreme was something no one could remember ever seeing. But it had happened before their eyes—none could deny it.
Blood‑Robe and Blood Cloud stood pale and shaken. They could not fathom how their invincible patriarch had lost to this young ascendant from some forgotten realm.
Even as they struggled to process it, the sea of blood behind them churned. Ripples tore open, and four figures slowly emerged. The moment their silhouettes appeared, the crowd gasped aloud.
Each of them emanated mighty auras—a level of divine pressure exclusive to Earth Supremes.
"The four elders of the Blood God Clan!" someone whispered in terror. "All four are here… together with Blood‑Robe—that's five Earth Supremes!"
Five Lower Earth Supremes, and the patriarch himself—this was the full assembly of the Blood God Clan's upper echelon. Their appearance today meant that practically the entire leadership of a great divine clan had gathered in one place.
And the man responsible for summoning them all—was a young Thunder Emperor from the lower realms.
No one could imagine the uproar this would cause once news spread.
"Blood‑Robe, what is this?! How could the patriarch be—?" one of the elders exclaimed after seeing Blood Lingzi's battered form. Even witnessing the scene with their own eyes, it felt like a nightmare.
The others shared his stunned disbelief. Blood Lingzi was not only their clan head, but one of the most ambitious leaders in the Blood God Clan's history—a man who had sought to elevate their house above all others. Yet now he hung restrained, his fate literally in the grasp of another.
It was surreal.
"Enough idle awe," Blood‑Robe barked, voice sharp and unsteady. "That youth is dangerous. We strike together—free the patriarch at once!"
Without hesitation, he leapt forward toward Mo Yu. The other four followed, surrounding him in a five‑point formation that sealed the air and space around the Thunder Emperor.
Boom!
Five colossal Dharma Bodies erupted into existence, spanning sky and earth, encircling Mo Yu's Heavenly Tyrant Body within an impenetrable wall of power. Yet none dared attack—not while their patriarch remained trapped in Mo Yu's mighty grasp.
"Mo Yu!" Blood‑Robe shouted sharply. "Release our patriarch immediately! Even you cannot withstand five Earth Supremes striking together."
A dark chuckle escaped Mo Yu's lips. Despite being hemmed in by powers capable of splitting the heavens, he looked perfectly calm.
His voice was steady as thunder. "You dare move against me while your patriarch still lies in my hand? Would you see him crushed?"
The enormous fingers of his thunder giant slowly tightened.
Blood Lingzi's composure shattered; agony twisted his face as he felt his flesh compress under infinite pressure. Bones cracked, veins ruptured, and even his resilient Earth‑Supreme body began to splinter. A scream escaped his throat.
"Mo Yu—stop! You're surrounded by my Blood God Clan. Resistance is hopeless. Killing me will gain you nothing!" he roared through clenched teeth.
Indeed, killing an Earth Supreme was no small matter. Their vitality was endless; their Supreme Seas, once shattered, fused permanently into flesh and blood, making them nearly immortal. To completely annihilate one required erasing every spark of life-force from their being—a feat only possible through absolute domination.
For a Lower Earth Supreme to destroy even a peer was rare. To kill an Upper Earth Supreme bordered on impossible.
Thus, while Mo Yu held him, true execution would be difficult. Both sides knew it.
Mo Yu's smile was cold. "So what if I can't kill you instantly? Even shattering your body beyond recovery should hurt enough."
At those words, the color drained from Blood Lingzi's face. After a brief silence, he took a deep breath and forced his tone to steady. "Fine, Mo Yu. Release me, and my Blood God Clan will let bygones be bygones. We'll forget today's battle—neither side interferes with the other again.
You've seen my clan's might. Five Earth Supremes stand before you. Escaping our vengeance won't be easy. Let's both step back."
Mo Yu's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. Truth be told, he had no desire for an endless blood feud. The Blood God Clan was powerful, and though he could overcome them, wiping them out would drain him unnecessarily.
Still, showing weakness was not an option. "Why should I believe you? Once I let you go, how do I know you won't betray that promise?"
The grip around Blood Lingzi loosened slightly, allowing him to breathe, but not to break free. The patriarch coughed blood, then muttered grimly, "If you doubt me, I will swear upon the ancestors of the Blood God Clan themselves: should I break my word, may our entire clan perish in ruin."
Even his own elders flinched at such a brutal oath. Blood‑Robe stiffened. His patriarch's ruthlessness spared no one—not even his descendants.
Mo Yu chuckled coldly. "An oath? Do you take me for a fool? The Blood God Clan's demise hardly needs my help—you're walking toward it already."
His words darkened every Blood Clansman's expression.
"Try something real," Mo Yu said curtly. "Otherwise, we stay like this forever."
Blood Lingzi's jaw tightened. "Then what do you propose?" he demanded, throwing the burden back to Mo Yu.
Before Mo Yu could reply, a serene voice cut through the tense air.
"Hehe… why don't you let this old man mediate?"
All eyes turned as the air itself rippled open. From the rift stepped a tall, black‑robed elder, his bearing majestic. His aura was on par with Blood Lingzi's—another Upper Earth Supreme.
Recognition flashed through the patriarch's face. "Luo Tianshen… what are you doing here?"
Mo Yu blinked, instantly recalling the name. Luo Tianshen, patriarch of the Luo God Clan, grandfather of Luo Li—the wife of Mu Chen, another of the Great Thousand World's heroes.
The elder smiled faintly. "I sensed this battle and came to see. Who could resist watching the mighty Blood Lingzi being humbled?"
"You—!" Blood Lingzi's face turned black with fury. Being mocked by an old rival in such a humiliating state filled him with burning rage. But now was no time for vengeance; survival came first.
"Lord Thunder Emperor," Luo Tianshen said respectfully, turning to Mo Yu. "I am Luo Tianshen of the Luo God Clan. It is an honor."
Mo Yu inclined his head politely. "So it is the famed patriarch of the Luo God Clan. I've long heard of your name."
"Ha, you flatter me." The elder's tone grew smooth. "To defeat an Upper Earth Supreme as a newcomer from the lower world—such talent deserves my respect. As for this situation, allow me to propose a resolution.
Let the Thunder Emperor release Patriarch Blood Lingzi, and in return, he will forgive all past offenses. Should he break his promise, the Luo God Clan will stand beside you, Thunder Emperor Mo Yu, against the Blood God Clan."
He released his aura fully—crushing the five Blood Clansmen to silence under its weight.
Blood Lingzi's expression soured. He knew that with Luo Tianshen's backing, the leverage now favored Mo Yu. To oppose them both risked annihilation.
Mo Yu studied the elder with quiet amusement. He could see the shrewdness in the man's eyes. The Luo God Clan had long been losing influence, threatened by the Blood God Clan's expansion. This intervention was no altruism—it was strategy.
Still, he admired such calculation.
"Of course," Luo Tianshen added mildly, stroking his beard, "if either of you distrust me, we can pretend I never spoke. You may continue your… stalemate."
Mo Yu finally smiled. "No need, Patriarch Luo. I trust your word."
Blood Lingzi gave a tight nod, no other path left to take.
"Excellent," said Luo Tianshen warmly. "Then rest assured—I pledge on my honor. I will not betray this trust."
Mo Yu accepted the vow. The tension began to ease, lightning dimming slightly.
But then, a whisper from the Wind Emperor echoed in Mo Yu's mind—an idea, sharp as thunder.
His smile turned lazy. "Ah, but before I release him," he said evenly, "there's one more thing."
A flicker of unease swept through Blood Lingzi. "And what might that be?"
Mo Yu chuckled. "A simple trade. For your freedom… one hundred million Supreme Spirit Liquids. Surely that's a small price for a patriarch's life?"
