Chapter 714: Supreme Divine Ability, Blood Lingzi Appears
Heaven and earth fell silent as countless spectators watched the scene before them, all exchanging stunned and uncertain glances.
No one had expected that Elder Blood-Robe's once-dominant assault would not only fail to harm Mo Yu, but instead leave himself battered and humiliated under a single counterstrike.
More discerning experts, those with sharp perception and insight, turned their serious gazes toward the Heavenly Tyrant Dharma Body beneath Mo Yu's feet, which stood only a few hundred meters tall.
At this point, anyone who still believed that Mo Yu's mysterious Dharma Body was small because he came from a lower realm and "didn't know how to use" a Supreme Dharma Body was a complete fool.
Yet confusion lingered in many hearts. Even now, they could not identify which of the Great Thousand World's Supreme Dharma Bodies this mysterious form belonged to.
They looked up at Mo Yu, standing calmly upon the Heavenly Tyrant Body's shoulder, his expression still like a placid ancient well. In that moment, this young man seemed more unfathomable than ever.
On the other side, Elder Blood-Robe glared at Mo Yu, his pale face twisted with dark resentment. He had not expected the youth before him to possess such terrifying methods.
The title of Thunder Emperor truly seemed well-deserved.
"Impressive methods," Blood-Robe said coldly. "It has been many years since this elder has encountered such a fierce ascendant from the lower realms. No wonder you dare call yourself Thunder Emperor—you do have some skill."
"Hehe, Elder Blood-Robe flatters me," Mo Yu replied lightly, hands folded behind his back. "Though what surprises me is that a Blood God Clan elder is only… this much. Rather disappointing, really."
"You…!"
Hearing Mo Yu belittle the Blood God Clan again and again, Blood-Robe's fury surged to a breaking point. Was this brat truly determined to make an enemy of his clan to the bitter end? He refused to yield even an inch.
The crowd stared at Mo Yu with wide eyes, inwardly speculating. From the way he targeted the Blood God Clan so fiercely, it almost seemed as though there was some deep old hatred between them.
Even Blood Cloud found himself wondering. Brow furrowed, he tried to recall whether the Blood God Clan had ever invaded a realm called the Dou Qi Continent.
Yet no matter how he searched his memory, that name never appeared. With so many lower planes scattered across existence, even a clan like theirs could not possibly visit each one.
Convinced there was no prior connection, Blood Cloud could only mutter in confusion, "Why is he so determined to oppose our clan? Is this truly just his temperament—wild and domineering by nature?"
Blood-Robe's expression grew colder and darker. "Young man," he snarled, "some words, once spoken, must be paid for—in blood."
As his voice fell, he sat down cross-legged upon the shoulder of his Dharma Body. His hands formed seals with blinding speed, and at the same time, the Blood Kasaya Body behind him mirrored every motion.
Buzz…
Endless streams of bloodlight erupted from the giant's form, surging into the sky. A strange chant seemed to echo between heaven and earth—not soothing, but corrupting, stirring killing intent and bloodlust even in those who heard it from afar.
Blood-Robe's eyes turned blood-red. In the next instant, blood seeped from every pore of his skin.
With a roar, something horrifying occurred—his outer layer of skin peeled off his body.
Buzz!
The blood-red skin floated free as the Blood Kasaya Body howled behind him. The immense blood robe on its form shot upward, melding seamlessly with the shed skin.
In an instant, they fused into a colossal red kasaya made of flayed human skin, large enough to blot out the sky.
On its surface writhed countless cruel faces and blood-red sigils.
The world itself seemed drenched in blood.
"Supreme Divine Ability—Blood Demon Grand Kasaya!"
Covered in blood and gore, Blood-Robe glared at Mo Yu with rabid eyes. His hoarse roar shook the heavens.
Whoosh!
The immense skin-kasaya descended like a blood-colored dome, closing over Mo Yu and the Heavenly Tyrant Body like a titanic bag, sealing them within layer after layer.
Cries of alarm burst from the onlookers. Those who understood this technique shivered inwardly.
The Blood Demon Grand Kasaya was Blood-Robe's signature ability. Anyone enveloped by it would be swarmed by endless blood demons, devoured and dissolved into blood.
Yet every time he used it, Blood-Robe's own defenses would be greatly weakened, which was why he rarely resorted to it unless absolutely necessary. Now, to trap Mo Yu, he had clearly thrown all caution aside.
"This time," he hissed, "let's see how you break my Blood Kasaya!"
Within the shroud of red, Mo Yu looked up calmly at the sky-covering robe. Fresh blood seeped down its surface, gradually forming countless demonic specters that twisted and writhed.
These blood demons were formless and intangible, able to pass through normal defenses. They could even dissolve spiritual power itself.
"This is at least worth a look," Mo Yu murmured. "But… it's time I moved seriously."
His eyes narrowed and then he smiled. Sitting cross-legged upon the Heavenly Tyrant Body's shoulder, he brought his hands together in a seal.
In response, thunder roared.
Lightning poured toward the giant's palms. With a deafening crash, a massive thunder dragon coiled and condensed, shrinking rapidly until it took shape—
A giant silver crossbow of pure lightning, cradled in the Heavenly Tyrant Body's hands.
Mo Yu's expression turned cold. His gaze locked onto the bloody heaven above. As his will stirred, the colossal arms of the Heavenly Tyrant Body slowly drew the bowstring back.
As the string reached its limit, the darkness at the bow's center thickened, condensing into a single black arrow.
Buzz…
Lightning danced along its surface. Tiny arcs of thunder crawled across the arrowhead, and though it had not yet been loosed, space around it had already begun to crack and collapse.
Heavenly Tyrant Dharma Body—Cross Thunder Bow.
This was the Supreme Divine Ability of the Heavenly Tyrant Body—and Mo Yu was using it for the first time.
It looked ordinary, almost simple. But the power coiled within would make even an upper Earth Supreme shrink back.
Mo Yu watched the drawn bow for a heartbeat, then smiled faintly and flicked his sleeve.
The Heavenly Tyrant Body took aim at Blood-Robe.
The black arrow of lightning shot forth like a ray of destruction, streaking toward the massive skin-kasaya above.
"After all this play," Mo Yu said softly, "it's time for despair."
Outside, standing atop his damaged Blood Kasaya Body, Blood-Robe exhaled in relief. Watching the sealed kasaya wrap tight around Mo Yu, he felt his confidence returning.
"Hmph. No matter how arrogant you are, once you fall into my Blood Demon Kasaya, you won't walk away unscathed."
He knew he might not be able to kill Mo Yu outright. But if he could at least crush the young man's momentum, it would be enough to show that the Blood God Clan was not to be trifled with.
Just as he was savoring the thought of Mo Yu's suffering, his expression stiffened.
"Hm?"
He frowned at the kasaya. A strange surge of power pulsed within it before he could react.
In the next instant, a sharp point bulged from its surface—silver light bursting from inside.
Terrifying thunderlight pierced outward. The surrounding space erupted with holes as the lightning storm ripped through it.
The arrow of thunder tore the Blood Demon Kasaya apart like wet paper.
With a shuddering scream, the red skin robe shattered into countless bloody fragments that scattered through the sky.
"How is this possible?!" Blood-Robe whispered, panic filling his eyes.
Gasps echoed across the arena. None could have imagined that the fearsome Blood Demon Kasaya—nightmare of many Earth Supremes—would be destroyed in less than a minute.
"What kind of attack is that…?"
All gazes swung toward the blazing streak of light bursting from the ruined kasaya—
A lightning arrow.
The Cross Thunder arrow.
Its body crackled with such terrifying energy that even the hearts of lower Earth Supremes clenched in dread.
Whoosh!
The arrow shot free, thunder raging around it, then accelerated, streaking toward Blood-Robe like a falling star.
Blood-Robe saw only a flash of silver before death's shadow closed over him. With a terrified roar, he unleashed everything he had—
The Blood Kasaya Body flared brilliantly, weaving layer upon layer of blood nets before him.
Each net that shattered spilled sticky blood, fortifying the next layer, building a shield of countless membranes.
By the time the arrow struck the final barrier, it had already slowed—but not stopped.
Teeth gritted, Blood-Robe opened his mouth and spat a beam of dark red light.
"Blood Demon Banner!"
The bloodlight expanded into a massive scarlet banner that merged with the last barrier. Only then did the arrow halt its advance.
The Blood Demon Banner—an actual sacred artifact of the Great Thousand World.
With its help, Blood-Robe barely contained the first arrow. His body shook, cold sweat soaking his back.
Whoosh!
Just as he began to relax, space flickered before him—
Another arrow appeared.
Blood-Robe's pupils shrank. Every hair on his body stood on end as he flung himself backward in mad retreat.
But this second arrow was faster, fiercer. Before he could fully evade, it speared through his chest.
At that instant, his arm exploded in a burst of bloodlight. His body vanished from where he stood and reappeared tens of thousands of meters away.
He had used a self-destructive secret art to warp space and narrowly escape death.
Far behind, Mo Yu watched calmly as thunder faded from the air.
Blood-Robe stood far away, pale and trembling, hatred burning in his gaze. "Boy," he snarled, "if you think killing me will be so easy, you're far too naive!"
The vitality of an Earth Supreme was indeed terrifying—difficult to snuff out completely without overwhelming superiority.
Mo Yu's lips curled into a faintly mocking smile.
Blood-Robe's heart clenched at that expression. His gaze snapped to the Heavenly Tyrant Body, where the Cross Thunder Bow was already gathering another bolt of lightning.
The arrow drew breath again. Power surged, pressing down on the world until even space began to collapse.
Sweat trickled down Blood-Robe's spine. Two arrows had already cost him dearly. Two more, and he might truly meet his end.
"Clan Chief, save me!" he shouted desperately, all pride abandoned.
The battlefield fell eerily silent. Even Mo Yu paused, eyes narrowing slightly as he scanned the bloody horizon.
For a few moments, nothing happened. No movement, no response.
Just as Mo Yu prepared to loose another shot, the sea of blood that still churned over the distant sky surged violently.
Waves rose. A terrifying presence slowly awakened from within.
The blood tide parted.
A man in a blood-red robe stepped forth, walking calmly upon the waves. His eyes gleamed scarlet, cold and fathomless. With a single glance at Blood-Robe's sorry state, his brows furrowed.
Then his gaze shifted to Mo Yu. His pupils narrowed.
"Who are you," the newcomer asked quietly, his voice resonant and heavy, "and why have you struck down an elder of my Blood God Clan with such merciless intent?"
It was none other than the Blood God Clan's patriarch—
Blood Lingzi.
