Chapter 711: My Name Is Mo Yu, Known as the Thunder Emperor
Mo Yu's words froze everyone in place.
Though his previous displays of power had been extraordinary, speaking so audaciously to a Ninth-Grade Supreme of the Blood God Clan still seemed unthinkable to most.
Who was he, this youth with silver eyes, to stand unfazed before a peak powerhouse of one of the great divine clans? Surely, he was courting death.
Whispers rippled across the crowd, a mix of disbelief and grim fascination. Many of those watching now carried a faintly eager light in their eyes—they were waiting to see what punishment awaited Mo Yu for his arrogance.
The siblings from the Gongshu Family sneered coldly from their seats. To them, Mo Yu's words were pure suicide.
Gongshu Ziran, especially, looked as though she could already see his body lying in ruin beneath Blood Cloud's wrath.
If Gongshu Ziran was considered a charming ornament of the Blood God Clan, then Blood Cloud was one of its shadowed blades—a true wielder of authority. Though not a high elder, his rank as an enforcer in the clan placed him far above countless cultivators in the Western Heaven Realm.
Even Yuchang Yuan sighed inwardly. He had admired Mo Yu's composure, yet now the young man's words seemed reckless to the extreme.
To insult the Blood God Clan directly—especially in front of one of its appointed eight-blood envoys—was a death sentence. No one, not even he, could mediate such an offense.
Blood Cloud's laughter broke the tension. It was not mirthful laughter, but sharp, hateful, edged with fury.
For decades, none had dared address him this way. And this arrogant youth not only belittled him—he even dared call the names of Elder Blood-Robe and their Patriarch, Blood Lingzi, as if mocking the holy names of the clan itself!
"So that's how it is," Blood Cloud said with a cold smile. "It seems this generation has grown quite bold. Very well. Today, I shall see firsthand why I, Blood Cloud, am 'not qualified.'"
His laughter rose into the sky, rolling with suppressed rage.
From that sound alone, the crowd shuddered—he was furious beyond measure.
But as everyone tensed, expecting Mo Yu to retreat or defend himself, the young man merely gazed at Blood Cloud with tranquil indifference. His silver eyes glimmered faintly, like two storms about to awaken.
He had done this deliberately.
Having ascended to Earth Supreme, Mo Yu no longer feared the Blood God Clan—or anyone beneath the heavens. Provoking Blood Cloud was not only to refuse an unjust summons; it was also to declare his presence to the world.
He needed the world to see.
The Great Thousand World was vast, and after the shattering of the Six Emperors, his companions—Xiao Yan, Cai Lin, Lin Dong, and the others—had each vanished across its boundless realms. If he wished to find them quickly, his name had to spread fast enough to reach their ears.
And what could make greater waves than striking down a divine clan's envoy before all of West Heaven?
As Mo Yu's calm gaze passed over him, a nameless chill crept up Blood Cloud's spine. Anger, pride, and an instinctive sense of danger surged through him simultaneously.
His dried fingers twitched, and bloodlight began to gather between them. The energy pulsing from his hand was sharp, dark, and alive with killing intent.
"Let's see, then," Blood Cloud said coldly. "What manner of creature dares speak so highly of himself?"
With a single step forward, his aura detonated. Spiritual power rippled outward like the force of a collapsing world. In one blink, his body faded into nothing.
"He's making his move!" Yuchang Yuan's eyes widened, his heart sinking.
The crowd erupted into gasps. Gongshu Ziran and her brother smiled viciously, eyes gleaming—they could already picture Mo Yu being torn apart.
Yet Mo Yu did not move. His expression remained relaxed, almost bored, as though dismissing his opponent's existence altogether.
Then—bang!
A bloody shadow appeared above him. Blood Cloud's claw, stained with seething crimson energy, descended like a thunderbolt. The strike ripped through the air itself, space tearing apart in jagged lines as it aimed squarely at Mo Yu's crown.
Yuchang Yuan's heart clenched. Yuchang Ran's pale face blanched further, her knees weakening as she watched the fatal strike descend.
But before the attack could land, light burst from Mo Yu's body—silver, radiant, and filled with unfathomable energy.
Boom!
From the core of that light, a thunderous arm shot upward, wreathed in raw lightning, colliding head-on with the descending blood claw.
The explosion deafened the world. A shockwave of blinding power rippled outward from their clash, shattering the ground beneath the platform into a web of cracks.
Smash!
The two forces—blood and thunder—hung in deadlock for a heartbeat. Then, Blood Cloud's body trembled violently. A surge of energy blasted him backward through the sky. Coughing blood, he skidded across the air before finally halting, his face pale and eyes wide with disbelief.
The audience froze.
No one spoke.
One blow—and the Blood God envoy had been overpowered.
"How…?!"
Blood Cloud stared at Mo Yu in disbelief, voice trembling. "Half-step Earth Supreme?!"
He could feel it clearly. The power that had struck him carried not just raw might, but the unmistakable depth of one who had grasped the principles of earth law.
For the first time in centuries, fear crept into his ancient heart.
The crowd gasped as realization spread.
"Half-step Earth Supreme?! At his age?!"
Shock washed across every face. The Yuchang Family's elders turned pale, then ecstatic. Even they hadn't realized the magnitude of Mo Yu's power.
They had merely sought aid—and instead, they had called upon a being who surpassed the mortal realm entirely.
Even the Gongshu siblings stood frozen, their arrogance stripped away, staring at the youth who had undone their empire's schemes in a single breath.
"It can't be," Gongshu Ziran hissed, her voice weakening into near-hysteria. "Impossible… no one so young can be that strong!"
But Blood Cloud knew otherwise. Wiping the blood from his lips, he spoke hoarsely, "He's no liar… such power can only belong to one who stands on the threshold of Earth Supreme."
No wonder the Celestial Array failed to harm him. The youth had been feigning weakness all along.
Still, Ziran refused to relent. "And what of it?! He's killed my father and spat upon the Blood God Clan's dignity! Elder Yun, if you let him go, our clan will become the world's joke!"
Her venomous words struck home.
Blood Cloud hesitated, unease twisting into rage. Glaring back at Mo Yu, he growled, "Half-step Earth Supreme or not, you'll learn the meaning of divine bloodline power today!"
He suddenly ripped a bloodred pendant from his robes and crushed it in his hand.
Instantly, the sky turned crimson. A storm of blood poured across the heavens like a living sea. The world itself quaked beneath the boundless, suffocating pressure that followed.
Within moments, an aura so vast and ancient that space itself bowed spread outward—an aura belongs to an Earth Supreme.
"Th-this pressure…" gasped Yuchang Yuan. "A Blood God Clan Earth Supreme… he's coming!"
"Patriarch, what should we do?!" cried one of the Yuchang elders.
Yuchang Yuan clenched his fists tightly. "If Mo Yu stands with our family, then we stand with him. Even if it costs our lives!"
The Yuchang warriors straightened at once. They owed Mo Yu not just their honor but their survival. If death awaited them, so be it.
As countless eyes lifted toward the sky, the roiling sea of blood split apart. A single figure stepped forth, moving across the void as easily as walking on earth. Each stride sent waves of power cascading through space.
Within seconds, the figure stood at the heart of the platform. The oppressive aura grew heavier still.
This man wore a robe the color of congealed blood. With every movement, the air itself seemed to recoil from him.
"Blood Cloud," said the newcomer coldly. "Explain yourself. I told you—do not disturb me unless it's vital. I hardly call the death of one useless pawn a matter of importance."
His tone was flat, but every word was filled with lethal disdain.
Gongshu Ziran froze mid-sob, her body trembling. Even now, abandoned by him, her heart seethed with humiliation and hatred. The man she'd flattered for years dismissed her father's death as nothing.
"Elder Blood-Robe," Blood Cloud said quickly, kneeling halfway. "It isn't that! If I hadn't summoned you, I would be dead already!"
The Blood-Robe Elder's eyes shifted toward Mo Yu. "This one?" he asked calmly.
The murderous intent that rolled with his every word pressed down upon the crowd like a thousand mountains.
"Oh? A mere youth who dares to slight the Blood God Clan?" His gaze sharpened. "Speak, boy! Name yourself, if you have the courage!"
His Earth Supreme aura swept across the heavens, shaking the entire city to its core. Clouds split apart, lightning recoiling under the weight of blood.
And yet… before that infinite pressure, Mo Yu stood unmoving.
Then, amid the red light and roaring wind, a deep thunder began to rumble—not from the heavens, but from within him.
The storm in his silver eyes burst into life, arcs of lightning dancing across his form. His voice rolled across the entire sky.
"From the Dou Qi Continent," he declared, his tone calm but carrying the edge of thunder itself, "my name is Mo Yu—known to all as the Thunder Emperor."
