Chapter 544 - Chapter 544: The Heavenly Tomb Slots, Meeting Lei Ying

Chapter 544: The Heavenly Tomb Slots, Meeting Lei Ying

The Lei Clan's square was dead silent.

"Lei Yin, you lost this battle," said Elder Lei Xuan, his gaze turning to Lei Yin, who was pale and trembling as he struggled to stand. The elder's calm voice echoed in the stillness of the crowd.

Hearing this, Lei Yin's body trembled. Although Mo Yu possessed a Divine Bloodline, Lei Yin never imagined that despite receiving the clan's best resources his entire life, he would lose so decisively to Mo Yu.

Lei Yin's eyes flickered, but after a moment, he took a deep breath, turned to Mo Yu, and said calmly, "I lost. I will voluntarily give up my position as General. In the future, if you need anything, feel free to command me."

"Lei Yin admitted defeat."

As Lei Yin conceded, the square remained silent. The surrounding Lei Clan members were still filled with shock. Lei Yin, who was considered one of the top three among the younger generation of the Lei Clan, had lost to Mo Yu.

Thinking about this, the Lei Clan members' gazes toward Mo Yu were now filled with admiration. Mo Yu, blessed by the heavens with a Divine Bloodline, truly lived up to the expectations. With this victory, Mo Yu firmly established his supreme status within the Lei Clan.

"Mu Mang, from now on, do not oppose Lord Mo Yu. Otherwise, Father will be the first to punish you severely," Mu Mang's elder brother, the Silver Thunder Captain, sternly warned. The outcome had caught everyone off guard.

Mu Mang nodded timidly, glancing fearfully at Mo Yu. Who would have thought that this outsider with a seemingly lowly background would actually possess the legendary Divine Bloodline and defeat Lei Yin, the renowned Thunder General? His talent and power had completely terrified Mu Mang.

"Mo Yu is no ordinary person. Aside from his Divine Bloodline, what he has experienced is far beyond Lei Yin's," Mang Tianchi said, watching Mo Yu's slender but steadfast figure. "It's no surprise he won in the end. Luckily, your Mu lineage didn't offend him too much, or you would have only brought humiliation upon yourselves."

Mu Mang and his brother nodded repeatedly. Mu Mang even began to praise Mo Yu's might, leaving Qinglin and Xiao Yixian stunned. If they hadn't witnessed his arrogance in the Demon Thunder City, they would have thought he was a completely different person.

Mang Tianchi chuckled at their reactions, then his gaze shifted slightly toward the massive trees in the distance, where a gleam flashed in his eyes.

"Haha, it seems I didn't choose the wrong son-in-law after all. Even Lei Yin couldn't defeat him—his talent is indeed extraordinary," laughed Lei Ying, the Lei Clan leader, as he watched the outcome from his perch on the giant tree.

"He's certainly strong, and it seems he used his bloodline power to raise his strength from a five-star Dou Zun to an eight-star Dou Zun, making it look easy to defeat Lei Yin," Lei Dong, the silver-robed man, remarked.

"However…" Lei Dong furrowed his brow in thought. "For some reason, I feel like the way my brother-in-law increased his power wasn't purely through his bloodline. There might be something else at play. But maybe I'm just overthinking it. After all, the Divine Bloodline hasn't appeared in the Lei Clan for thousands of years, so it could just be something unique."

Lei Ying waved his hand dismissively. "Don't worry about those minor details. Whether it's truly a Divine Bloodline or some other method, as long as his talent is real and he acknowledges the Lei Clan, we'll support him fully. Besides, with Fei'er by his side, he's practically family. If Mo Yu reaches your level of strength, even you won't be able to beat him. Our Lei Clan's future—whether we can stand equal to the Gu Clan and the Soul Clan in a hundred years—depends on him."

Lei Dong was taken aback by his father's words and then smiled bitterly. He hadn't expected his father to compare him to Mo Yu. However, seeing Mo Yu's talent, he couldn't help but wonder what the outcome would be if they were at the same level.

"Speaking of which, the Gu Clan's Heavenly Tomb will be opening soon. Our Lei Clan has two slots. Let's give them to Mo Yu and Fei'er. It'll be a reward for Mo Yu, and it will also help deepen their relationship," Lei Ying said with a smile. He glanced at Lei Fei'er, whose face had turned slightly red, and teased, "Before, you were so adamant about not marrying him. Now, after seeing his performance, aren't you glad I found you a good husband?"

"Father!" Lei Fei'er's face flushed red, and she quickly glanced at Mo Yu in the distance. Embarrassed, she stomped her foot and ran off.

Seeing this, Lei Dong and Lei Ying exchanged a knowing look and laughed. While they were both warriors at heart, they weren't oblivious—they could clearly see that Lei Fei'er had developed feelings for Mo Yu.

On a lush mountain peak surrounded by mist, the scene looked like a celestial paradise.

Mo Yu walked leisurely toward the mountain's summit, with Xiao Yixian and Qinglin following closely behind. After defeating Lei Yin, Mo Yu, feeling bored, decided to leave and return to his residence with the two women.

As he walked through the mountain forest, Mo Yu absorbed the pure energy of the surroundings, letting it nourish every part of his body. The energy within the Lei Clan was incredibly pure, and even though Mo Yu was at the five-star Dou Zun level, he still benefited greatly from it.

"Hm?"

As Mo Yu immersed himself in this state, his steps suddenly halted. His half-closed eyes snapped open, and he looked seriously at the end of the mountain path. There, a figure stood with his hands behind his back.

Xiao Yixian and Qinglin also stopped, their expressions turning cautious.

Mo Yu's eyes became even more serious as he looked at the silver-robed figure. He couldn't sense any aura from the person—it was as if the man didn't exist at all, as though the space he occupied was empty. Yet, with his own eyes, Mo Yu could confirm it was indeed a person, and not an old man either, but someone quite young.

"This person is a Dou Saint, and not just an ordinary one," Mo Yu thought.

"Greetings, I am Mo Yu. I didn't mean to disturb you. Please forgive any offense," Mo Yu said respectfully, cupping his hands. He had a faint idea of the man's identity.

"There's no need for that. I've been waiting for you."

Before Mo Yu finished speaking, a hearty laugh echoed in his ears. The figure turned around, revealing a young, handsome face.

"Haha, I didn't expect our Lei Clan to actually produce someone with a Divine Bloodline. Brother-in-law, you haven't married my sister yet, but it's fine if I call you that, right? My father sent me to bring you to see him. Do you have time now?"

Mo Yu's heart stirred. From that one sentence, he knew who this person was: Lei Dong, the son of the Lei Clan leader, a three-star Dou Saint, and the Lei Clan's young master.

Lei Dong had appeared in the original story during its final chapters, where he even fought against Xiao Yan. The conflict arose because the Lei Clan had once proposed to the Gu Clan, asking for Xun'er's hand in marriage for Lei Dong. However, the Gu Clan rejected the proposal, and Xun'er ultimately chose Xiao Yan. Lei Dong, being proud and combative, challenged Xiao Yan but ended up losing after Xiao Yan had fully matured.

Despite losing, Lei Dong was known as the most talented individual in the Lei Clan, having become a Dou Saint at a young age.

However, now that Mo Yu had emerged, it was uncertain whether Lei Dong would still hold the title of the Lei Clan's greatest talent.

"Oh, so it's my brother-in-law! If the clan leader wants to see me, I have time now," Mo Yu said with a light laugh.

Mo Yu had been wondering why Lei Ying hadn't summoned him, but it seemed they had now sent his son to fetch him.

"Good," Lei Dong nodded, then glanced at Xiao Yixian and Qinglin. "Brother-in-law, it's better if you leave your companions behind for this. While the Lei Clan doesn't require one-man, one-wife customs, and we won't mind how many women you have, the occasion ahead isn't suitable for them."

Mo Yu paused for a moment, then chuckled and nodded. He spoke a few words to Xiao Yixian and Qinglin before following Lei Dong deeper into the mountains.

In the ancient hall of the Gu Clan, the grand table was brightly lit. Seated around it were elderly figures, their expressions somber and serious.

"The next matter we must discuss is the opening of the Heavenly Tomb. As everyone knows, there are only sixteen slots to enter the tomb. Each of the eight ancient clans gets two slots. According to our previous discussions, these slots were to go to Fei'er and Lei Yin. However, heaven has blessed us, and our Lei Clan now has someone with a Divine Bloodline. I propose we give Lei Yin's slot to the Black Thunder Captain.

The Black Thunder Captain possesses a Divine Bloodline, and its significance needs no explanation. If he can obtain the ancestors' inheritance in the Heavenly Tomb, it will greatly aid his growth, and our Lei Clan could gain another Supreme expert," said Elder Lei Xuan, his eyes sweeping the room as he spoke passionately.

"However, the slots for the Heavenly Tomb were decided long ago. Changing them now would be inappropriate. While the Divine Bloodline is crucial for the Lei Clan, Lei Yin has done much for the clan over the years. Favoring one over the other might dishearten many members," a wrinkled elder said in a heavy voice.

"Elder Lei Fan, Lei Yin may be your grandson, but there's no need to argue so much over this slot. I heard that Lei Yin lost his duel and is even giving up his position as General. Can't you see the situation clearly? The Divine Bloodline is a matter of utmost importance, and I'm sure even Lei Yin would understand. This slot must go to the Black Thunder Captain," a white-haired elder said firmly, clearly at odds with Lei Fan.

"Lei Qing, you—" Lei Fan's face darkened, but just as he was about to retort, a booming voice cut him off.

"Enough! I've made my decision. The slots will go to Mo Yu and Fei'er. If you object, Lei Fan, I can give Fei'er's slot to Lei Yin instead!"

The thunderous voice echoed through the hall, and with it came an overwhelming pressure. Even the elders, all of whom were Dou Saints, felt a deep sense of oppression under this immense force.

"Clan Leader, I wouldn't dare take Miss Fei'er's slot. Since that's your decision, I have no objections," Lei Fan said, bowing his head. Even though he was a highly ranked elder, he dared not defy the clan leader's authority.

"Father, who's angered you now? I could hear your shout from far away."

As the tense atmosphere in the hall began to ease, a lighthearted voice sounded. The large doors creaked open, and two young figures appeared—Lei Dong and Mo Yu.

Mo Yu glanced around the hall. Sensing the powerful auras of the elders, his expression turned serious. He could tell that every one of them was stronger than Snake Uncle. These must be the Lei Clan's true core members, each at least a Half-Saint, if not a full Dou Saint.

Realizing this, Mo Yu couldn't help but be amazed. Even Half-Saints had no place here, and yet Lei Ying had summoned him to this meeting. It seemed the Divine Bloodline really held extraordinary importance to the ancient clans.

"Lei Dong, this is where the elders meet. Bringing someone here breaks the rules," Lei Fan said with a frown when he saw Mo Yu.

"Elder Lei Fan, have you forgotten the rights granted by the Divine Clan Mark?" Lei Dong said calmly, folding his arms.

Lei Fan was momentarily taken aback, then grumbled to himself. According to the Lei Clan's rules, anyone with a Divine Clan Mark held a status higher than most elders. It wasn't against the rules for someone like that to be present.

Hearing Lei Fan's complaint, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow. This old man seemed to harbor some hostility toward him.

Shaking his head indifferently, Mo Yu's gaze shifted to the head of the hall, where a tall, imposing man radiating immense power sat. There was no doubt—this was Lei Ying, the leader of the Lei Clan.
