"This place is huge!" Noir said walking into the Galley, the room was well over triple the size of the last kitchen, a clear distinction for the dining room and the cooking area, but with an open area floor plan
A large wooden table sat with many chairs on hardwood floors before cutting into tile for the kitchen where a large stoves and ovens sat against a partial divide wall. Then against the other wall was a large sink and multiple cupboards and drawers with prep stations.
"This is better than what even the Arbor had…" Noir ran his hand up and down the stainless steel surface of the refrigerator, it was gigantic. Well over 9 feet tall, and with close to 4 feet deep insides. It'd look massive in almost any other room if it weren't for the blossoms rooms all being well into 12 feet high at the minimum
There was also a secondary door that led into a walk-in freezer, another with a walk in pantry, and a dry pantry. If it could be stored or needed for cooking there was a place to store it bar livestock.
The crew walked out from the galley and back down the large stairs to the main deck, which was wide and perfect for relaxing out in the sun, the main mast sat close to the wall next to the stairs, a door sitting on its surface with a small button on the side.
"This here is the elevator" Calliope began "It goes all the way up to the crows nest or all the way down to the engine room and stops at each floor between." She pressed the button and the doors opened. "A lot of the Machines on here are electric, but aren't very complicated, luckily."
"The Crew Stepped into the lift, looking up and around to the wide and tall space. "And it's surrounded by the Ironwood, and is made in such a way that it'll never stop working. Even if the ship somehow went without power, the elevator is still able to move by analog machines or by my own power." She said, pressing the button for the first floor beneath the deck."
Seconds later, the Ship came to a stop. "So! Which way first?" She said pointing around. "Four directions. Over here are the quarters, and over here is the living room. Over there is the game room, and that way is the uh…Sitting room I'm pretty sure." She cocked her eyebrow.
"Bedroom!"
"Game Room!"
"I wanna see the living room!"
"Ugh!" Cali let out a sigh "You'll se it all eventually this is our new homes you dummies!" With huff she sat her hands on her hips "Bedroom it is" She pun on her heel and pressed a single button on the wall, sliding the doors open.
The crew quarters were huge, and an open floor plan just like the last quarters. There had been ideas tossed around if there should be multiple rooms for each person, but Cali had the feeling that a crew like this would be better suited with a open plan
The room itself was quite large, large beds separated with quite the gaps between each. An equal amount on each wall. The spaces of each of the beds were big enough to where it essentially was a person's own space with their own things within each. Enough space for independent dressers, drawers, or even something like desks, it could even be personalized beyond that with color and unique bedding with how much space there was.
"I call this one!" Leroy said, jumping up and slamming onto the queen sized bed in the middle of the right side group.
The crew then went through the rest of the ship. From the large spacious open Living room with many seats and couches, to the fully stocked Game room that looked like a downsized Casino in a single room, or the cozy sitting room
They also got to see the boiler room, where steam powered and heated water through the many faucets and into the bathroom and restroom. The Palm didn't actually have a major hot water production like this. It was either boiled by the stove, heated up by Jeanne, or the very small tank boiler for the bath.
"Wow…" Leroy said, finally coming back out onto the deck. "This place is huge…"
"Yeah, but it doesn't seem very hard to navigate or too big." Kirk said, sitting on one of the lawn chairs "But I'm kinda worried about all the stuff…What if we hit rough waters? It'd be a hell of a time cleaning it all up…"
"Oh? Did I not say?" Calliope chimed in "The entire ship is a gyroscope. It all can stay balanced on the rough sea and stay perfectly stable. Though it isn't too big, that's where the size of the ship comes in, unless we're in the middle of a typhoon, everything will be fine."
It wasn't long after that that the crew was getting ready to depart from Water 9.
"You better take care of them, ya hear?!" The short woman said with sass as she poke a metal finger into the chest of chester "Yes, I will. I'll make sure of it Cali" He said nervously, giving a bow.
"Same goes for all of you! You better stay on your best behavior!" She gave a shout, a slight tear welling up in the corner of her eye.
"We will!" They gave a reassuring answer. Winslow walked up behind her as she started to walk away, arms open. The pink haired shipwright embracing him back tightly. "I'm gonna miss ya kid." He said with a slight huff, closing his eyes as the two squeezed.
"I'll miss you too win…But don't go getting too sad! I ain't dyin!" She said, pulling back with a grin. "Oh I know you won't. You'd give the world hell before that ever happened"
"Now go on and get out of here." He said pulling away, giving her a tap on the back to push her on.
Running up the stairs that came out the side of the ship, Cali hopped up to where the rest of the crew were standing and waiting, the Nuff Wright's and Gang waving as the crew gave their own. "Whos ready for the first launch!" Calliope asked as she wandered up to the front of the ship where the main wheel and console sat
"Come a long way from a whipstaff…" Kirk said.
The ship began to move, causing Calliope to jolt up. "Wait what? I didn't even do anything?" She stood and ran over to the railing and looked over. Seeing Winslow and the others leading the charge to push the ship down the ramp! The Mayor with a wide smile on his face as the 150 people pushed hard!
With a resounding splash, the waters burst into the air! The Ember Blossom wading water for the first time!
"Bye!" Leroy said, waving his hand over the rail. Dezzi and Jeanne doing the same as Cali was teaching Kirk how to use the wheel and console, buttons for controlling the mast, levers for the speed, and a few other buttons for specialty utilities on the ship.
And like that, The Ember Blossom sailed away from the City of Fountains, Canals and Ships...But the journey in this stretch of sea wasn't over just quite yet.
