"Purple Piper? Really?" Kále folded his arms as he had a peculiar look on his face. "Don't be a coward Jeanne. Not even Dezzi wears a mask anymore"
"Hey!" Jeanne gave a point "At least one of us needs to hide ourselves during this! Theres an entire carnival going on and people are if it's marines looking for us one of us should be as easily spotted!"
"And i do not wanna get a bounty with my face plastered on it yet…" she crossed her arms
"Besides…" she pouted "I spent too much money on this thing to not wear it…"
"Whatever." Kále gave a sigh
"I actually agree with her. Despite her muddled reasoning. If there's at least one of us looking while disguised it'll help keep eyes off them while the rest of us are plainly clothed"
Leroy then some up with a clap. "Well I think it's cool"
"Alright. Piper. You handle the southern part. Kirk and Kále can go to the Western part. Dezzi and I will look at the eastern part."
"And I hate for another one of us to be alone. But if anyone can handle themselves alone, itd be you Noir"
"Hey! I could handle myself way better than the perv!" Kále retorted
"You can't even find your way out of a bilge without forgetting where you are!"
"Whatd you say?" The two collided heads. Grimaces across their faces
"See. I told you." Leroy cracked a smile.
"The crew took Their Channel Horses back up to the second level. All in the appropriate carriages.
"Alright. Lets meet up at the Nuff Wrights Over there" Leroy thumbed over his shoulder as He and Dezzi sat in the carriage together. "We've all got our Den Den's right?" Kirk then spoke up
The crew had picked up a set of Den Dens at Arabasta. But had never needed to use them until now. They all had the same sluggish snail features, simple shells on their bodies. They were the best they could get for quick transportation. They were small enough that they didn't even fill Dezzi hand.
"Test Test." Leroy gave a snicker as he spoke into the Den Den that had a small set of black hair in between its thing stalks. The small orbs at the end the same color as Leroys eyes. A small red piece of fabric tied around it.
Jeannes had a yellowish pompadour, and Noirs had his wild hair.
"Yep. All clear." They both spoke into their own.
The group split up into their trio, duo and single. Dezzi and Leroy going down the canal and passing the first dock that they'd been at only hours before. Now the docks were strangely empty. The building at the far end of the dock that looked more like a resident, the large flared roof with panes at multiple floors.
It was the Residence of Mayor Director Winslow. And only a single light was on near the bottom where his office was. Only a vague shadow cast across the panes with the curtains drawn.
"Wonder where all the workers went." Leroy questioned out loud. Pulling the reins to stop.
"Probably went to the Water Festival, Songkran." Dezzi suggested.
"I can hear it…" Leroy said as there was distant music and cheers. They were getting close to it.
"How was that by the way?" Leroy asked as he flicked his wrist. Continuing down the path to the next part of the city.
"Oh it was awesome!" Dezzi leaned forward and gleamed at their captain "There were floats everywhere! And people had these like- Water Guns that sprayed people! It was super fun!"
"Really?! That sounds awesome! We'll probably see it as we search." Leroy began to trail off as he passed down one of the canals. Seeing that there were tons of people on the streets that hadn't been at the docks where the Crew just was. Due to the fact that was one of the main docks. People spread out from there.
"Hey! Seems like the Carnival has spread throughout the entire city!" Dezzi said with a point
"Wooow. I see what you mean! Look at those…" He slowed to a stop. Looking at it all. String lights had been connected to the buildings and even over the Speed Signs. People danced and drank. Man, Leroy wished he could partake in it. The Drinking, the Eating, the Dancy.
But there was this pang in chest. Curling his lip, he thought. What if Raven was gone? What if she'd ran off? What if what happened to Kirk almost a year ago had happened to Raven? What if there was somebody forcing her to do something?
Or? What if…Someone was using her to get to him…This Anxiety filled his veins as he gripped the reins. The beating in his heart picked up with every passing second, almost like it was hollow.
He just stared at his hands. Silently.
"Leroy?" Dezzi broke the silence. Putting a hand on Their Captain. Their ears drooped slightly as they had a look of worry on their face as well. Matching their captain. "I'm worried about her too…"
"Even after first meeting me. She was so nice…" The Doctors head hung slightly
"It's alright Dez." The Captain said putting a gentle head on their crewmate. Ruffling their blue hair. "We'll find her!"
Even with the anxiety that filled his heart. He knew that he could handle it. They'd come this far right? And the Captains Bravado had held trough in even the most dire and depressing of moments. Even if he himself was the one to experience it. He moved forward
Flicking his wrist, the captain commanded the Channel Horses to continue down the Canal, on to the Eastern side of the City
