Chapter 309 - Missing

Only two and a half hours had passed since the crew split up. It was now 4:33 PM

Dezzi and Jeanne had been quite engrossed in the activities of the Water Festival. Their clothes were utterly soaked in water as they now even had their own water guns.

In fact, they'd become so engrossed that they had followed along with the crowd of people. Having spotted Raven amidst the crowd and waved to her telling The Scholar that they'd come back and find her.

Dezzi was currently wearing their mask, the small cracks of gold webbing its way across it. It'd been months since they'd worn it. Having usually kept it attached to the side of their satchel.. They also had their hoodie wrapped around their waist. The under shirt having it's long sleeves rolled up, with a small icon of a soda bottle across the front

Jeanne on the other hand, had bought an ornate cloak, wanting to match with Dezzi. The sides of it's shoulders having embroidered gold, a high collar that wrapped around her neck and flared off into points. Its underside was a dark purple with Swirls of gold as well.

But the most striking of the Marskwomans new look was the Jolly Carnival mask she wore. The mouth had a soft almost devious smile on its face. Surrounded by white, while the rest was a pale purple. The flaring fabric that peaked into three sections were a darker purple surrounded by white with gold small bulbs at the end

"Oh shoot." Jeanne looked up to see that it was rather late. Lifting the mask to prevent her voice from being muffled more. "It's getting late."

Dezzi lifted their mask too. And slid it into their bag. "Yeah. We should probably go back to Raven and head back to the Palm."

"Yeah, they're probably waiting for us already. C'mon. Dezzi"

"Ooo. What's that smell?" Leroy asked as he pushed the door into the Galley. Having put the Crates of Berry into the Store room, but putting the suitcases on the table in the Galley.

"Tarts! Got them while I was out in the Market." Noir said as he puts up the bright blue Mar Salt he had purchased. Having put it in a cup of Coffee, tested it in a sample of eggs, and even mixed it into butter and a few other things. It was an excellent ingredient, but it was best to use it smartly instead of putting it in everything

"So, how'd your trading adventure go?" The Chef asked as he dried his hands off and flicking the towel over his shoulder and leaning on the counter.

"Kirk was able to-" Leroy was abruptly interrupted by Kirk answering for him

"50 Billion!" He cheered as he opened the Case, taking out stacks of Berry, all in denominations of 1,000. Before holding them close to his chest like someone was going to take it from him

"Huh?!" The First Mate and The Chef both said at the Same Time. Eyes almost bugging out of their heads as they looked. Kále wasn't one for excessive money. But it was certainly impressive! But Noir on the other hand.

"Fifty?! Fifty Billion?! Are you kidding me?!"

"I know right! Heheheh!" Kirk fluttered the bills, looking at each of the notes individually. He was in wonderland.

"Well Leroy," Noir began "I guess we'll be able to buy whatever ship we come across now if the Calliope girl doesn't turn out as an option"

"Yeah! And we can see if Mayor Winslow can help with Designing it. I think I've got a perfect name for one too!"

"We can call it The-" The Galley door slammed open! The Masked figure of Jeanne appearing, only taking off the Mask a moment later. Her pompadour matted against her forehead as sweat drenched her.

"Ravens Missing!" The Young Arquette stammered out.

Dezzi peaked in and pushed past. Ears down in a sign of worry as they had their hands clasped together

The two began to pace the Galley

"Woah woah what? Calm down, what do you mean?" Noir attempted to consul Jeanne. Red Sash speaking up next

"Yeah what do you mean missing? Did you see her get taken?"

"No." Dezzi said. "But we saw her in the crowd! And then we went off to party, and then when we went back to look for her, she was gone from her spot!"

"We looked everywhere around. Even asked some of the people at the Parade. But no one saw her…" Jeanne said as she paced, hands on her head, gripping her hair "What if it's the World Government? Or the Marines!"

"What if someone took her because they knew she was on our crew!" Jeanne worried anxiously

"What If She's Dead!" Dezzi suddenly cried out.

"She's not dead!" Kirk said. "She might Just be off on her own right now! Water 9 is a huge place."

"Yeah but our Channel Horse was still in its spot! Where could she have gone if it was still there?" Dezzi added, nervously scratching at their chin.

"That is Strange." Leroy pondered.

"Well. In any case. I'm sure we can Trust her to handle herself, no?" Kále added. Having just stood back and observed. Arms crossed, ever the voice of reason

"Yeah. Urchins got a point. If she's fine, we just gotta have faith in her. But- if something has happened."

Leroy continued where Noir left "We should go back out to the second Level and split up and look for her."

"I ain't goin' back out there if it means Marines. I've been lucky this far in not getting a bounty, and we don't need everyone knowing."

She then pulled her mask over her face "But If we gotta search, its best to do so anonymously. At least for myself."

"Just call me…" Jeanne put her hand on the chin of her mask. Thinking. She was the weakest amongst all of them. That was a simple fact she accepted. And it was best that if it was marines, that she wasn't spotted and made another problem if she couldn't get away

She'd need a name for the others to call her as an alias…

"The Purple Piper!"
